Why Does My Macbook Air

Is it bad to never turn off a MacBook Air?

Thanks for the A2A.Nope. It’s a good idea to restart it every once and a while, but my MacBook Pro never gets turned off. I have had several MacBooks — a couple were MacBook Airs. None of them ever got turned off. All of them lasted as long as I needed them to (at least 4 years, btw).

My dog peed on my MacBook Air. What should I do.?

I left my room and when I came back my mac was on and open and there was urine on it. It was trying to connect to a wireless keyboard. I cleaned off the urine and restarted the mac but the trackpad doesn't work so 2 days later I connected a wired mouse to it and it worked for the most part but it at times it wouldn't work and would go back and forth on the mac screen even though I wasn't touching the mouse. It also is really loud and whenever I turn it on and sounds like an oscillating heater. Please help

Why does my MacBook Air keep freezing up and going dark?

Without further details, it looks like a too short sleep period.Check it in the system preferences. You can also install Lighthead - Caffeine (free). Clicking on the icon will prevent any sleep, so it's a good way to always stay awake.

Why does my MacBook Air 13" overheat when I play games?

Simple thingMACs are not gaming focused devicesYes if you bootcamp them to windows you will get good performance on most AAA titles on high end macsYours is a MacBook Air 13No discrete GPUneither is there a quad core CPUA 1.6Ghz dual core i5 will not cut itOverheating issues are there because of the aluminium build and bad thermal solutions in the macI don’t know why but that fan is not enough for cooling somehowI actually figured out a lot about this issueWhat happens is that since the cpu is a weak 1.6 GHz i5 it has to consistently turbo up from core clock to boost clock even for the simplest of tasks like 1080p video edits or even an AI heavy chess game (in built to macOS)Consistently having to use turbo clock can end up having adverse affects ie increasing the amount of heat generationWhat now happens isSince Apple want extremely silent devices what they do is program macOS to never turn the fan on until temperatures reach the extremes hence the heat keeps building up and by the time the fan kicks in the cpu is probably over 85–90 celsius and since Apple are little bitches about using better fans and not even allowing the smaller fan to run on its core RPM all for the sake of silence the chip is unable to be cooled down even after being a dual core x86 chipThis same problem is what happened with the thermally challenged I9 8950HK MacBook Pro 15The fans don’t kick in early and when they do it’s already all above 95 Celsius and the processor barely manages to keep the core clock or even underclocks itself to protect the chip and Apple yet again used extremely silent fans hence reducing there cooling capabilitiesThis is a huge mistake since letting a chip run that hot will reduce lifespan considerably

Why does my macbook air devolps a large hump in the keyboard when i pug my charger into it?

Not good. If it is expanding, there is a problem with the Lithium Ion battery. When they are faulty they start to swell. It WILL create a dangerous situation, possibly a fire. Take it back and get it fixed.

Can I run City Skylines on my Macbook Air?

Processor 1.3 ghZ Intel Core i5
Memory 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB

I got it about a month ago so nothing is really downloaded onto it. I m wondering if it will run and not make my computer horribly slow. Thanks!

What is the 3-pronged cord that came with my MacBook Air?

It’s quite ingenious actually. The power adapter has the option of using either the compact folding 2 prong terminal or the longer 3 prong terminal cord. The 2 prong part can be removed by sliding it up and off of the power brick and the 3 prong cord can be slid on in its place, thus giving you the option of sitting further away from the outlet.Incidentally, these bits can also be swapped out with different plug shapes altogether for international use. Hope that helps!BONUS : Cool engineering tidbit. The metal pin that the terminal bits slide onto actually act as the ground connector for the 3 prong extension cord. Brilliant!

Is my MacBook Air going to overheat?

It might. If I play Sims 3 on my PC laptop, it'll get really hot and the fans will run really hard. After a while, it will overheat and cut off. Macbook Air may be a bit different, but since it's making so much noise, the game is taking some kind of toll on the computer and it may overheat with time. I noticed that the more I played Sims 3 on the PC laptop, the easier it would overheat. I believe computers now are designed so that they will cut off before any serious damage from overheating can occur right away, but over time it may cause issues.

I have a 2013 Macbook Pro and I play Sims 3 on it and it doesn't get hot or run the fans really hard. Maybe it's the difference in processing power between Pro/Air. I would play as long as you wanted, just save often in case the computer cuts off. Of course, if you have a different computer (perhaps a desktop or stronger laptop), I would probably play it on there instead mainly because shutting off mid-game without warning is an inconvenience over anything else and may save the life of your computer a little. Nothing's gonna last forever, but you get what I'm saying.

Why won't my Macbook Air play youtube videos?

I just got my Macbook for Christmas and I tried to play a youtube video but it said I needed a new version of Adobe flash player. I downloaded and it said it installed and everything was fine, but when I went to watch the video it told me again that I needed to download Adobe. I downloaded it again and it still said that it was installed and ready but it still won't let me watch youtube videos. I'm using safari and I can't figure out why it won't work. Please help!
