Why does my mom hate me playing video games?
Using my sister's account. I'm in high school and get good grades, usually A's and I ALWAYS do my homework.It's the weekend and I decided to play some games, but when I try to find my PS3, system, it's gone. I know my mom has something to do with this. I have already finished my homework and I want to play some games, but she is stuck on the idea that it's bad for me. GOD, it is so annoying. I play games everyday on a school day and I still get good grades!!!!!! Why doesn't she get that?!?!?! -_- Why does my mom hate me playing video games? She always wants me to study, when there is nothing to study for in the first place.
My mom hates video games?
Hey, I'm 15 years old and I have a ps3 and an iPod. The only reason I have a ps3 and iPod in th first place is because of my grandparents who I rarely see and when I do they spoil me :P. My mom HATES video games, even though shes always on th computer facebooking, playing tetris, and playing bejeweled blitz. I hardly ever get to play my ps3 because mom is always grounding me for getting "bad", on tests. She thinks that a 75 is bad even on a really hard test that I studied for like a week on and all the other kids did either worse or not much better. I usually get 80+ on tests. She only let's me play an hour a day (sometimes not even that) on weekends. Even when I'm done my homework, she still won't let me play on weekdays. I would just be content with an hour a day including weekdays. It doesn't help that my friends can play as long as they want, whenever they want. I really want to play more cause I live in a small town and all my friends live in the country. It's so boring here and I want to play my ps3 more! My grades are currently standing at an 85 overall average which mom thinks is not bad but she still won't let me play. Is there anything I can do to get my mom to let me play more? Please no comments like, grow up, or get a life because I have a lot of friends and they don't care if I play games. I need sumthing helpful. Best answer gets 5 star rating.
Why do i all of a sudden hate video games?
It is simple. You have subconsciously realized that there is no point to them. I mean sure, you could win a tournament or something, but there is no real point. Your body is trying to get you to stop. In a few months, your love for video games will rekindle, and all will be right with the world :)
Why do parents hate video games.?
Last night I left from school at 9:20 arrived home at 10:00 took a shower played my Xbox from about 10:30 to 1:00 AM with my girlfriend. My dad got up to turn off my little brother's TV.Then comes in my room and shuts off my TV and tells me to turn off my Xbox. I was not talking loud because I have turtle beach headphones which are very sensitive to sound I have no need to be yelling or shouting. I wake up this morning and find my father took my Xbox. Now I do have a job I went to work from 6:00 AM until 2:00 PM today work everyday aside from Mondays and Wednesday when I have school. Why is my father OK with me watching TV rather than play a video game. TV rots your brain way more than a video game would with TV or movies you just sit there brain dead watching people do crap like all my dad watches is this true blood crap on HBO or some other stuff on there, or he'll watch football stuff like that. Video games there are actually problems you have to solve I can say some video games like gears of war my favorite game is a little crazy but I'm 18 i can handle it but there are a lot of other games i like to play which require some thinking rather than just sitting there in a daze. People waste just as much time watching TV as playing a game they are both sources of entertainment. He also throws it in my face that he bought me this Xbox over 6 years ago I can't stand it. I can always go buy a new Xbox but what for. I should so he can't take it from me any longer. Can someone tell me why parents hate games so much, and what should I do buy a new Xbox or what because I already buy all of my games for it and pay for Xbox live.

I don't play video games that much and when I do it's mainly just to relax and talk to my friends. I do have a life other than games and all of my friends on Xbox I know in real life. I hardly play during the week but on weekends when I'm not busy I'll be playing from 10 PM to 1 AM. When my mom notices I'm playing she always makes a comment like "oh of course you are playing those games." Like I said it's just a hobby and I use it to talk to my school friends. The thing that gets me is that my brother and her watch TV for hours and hours. I don't understand her generation's logic. The games I play are either social games with my friends (COD or NBA) or historically based story games (AC). That's MUCH better than mindlessly sitting in front if the TV doing and learning nothing. She also is no longer allowing me to buy games now, even with my own money! I can understand she wants me to save for college but she won't even let me use gift cards! She hates games! Could someone give me some insight on this messed up logic?

Ah, your mom is just part of this "old generation" and she is used to certain things. Your existence and actions just completely shatter her image of an ideal daughter so of course she'd probably be mad. As long as your gaming doesn't affect your school life and social life and future too much, then I see no problem with gaming. But, for now, just go with your mother's plans. Once you grow up and move out, you'll have time to play games.
Why does my mom not let me play video games all day in my room?
Now, don't get me wrong, I would love to sit down for an entire day and just play Skyrim… in fact, I have….(my record is exactly 48hours), and admittedly still do on occasion …But I understand it's really not good to do this. If your mother just LET you do this whenever you wanted, that would be a bit more of a problem …for you…For one, you really arnt getting much exercise. I also doubt you're getting vitamin D from the sun. Being in the same position like fir so long really isn't good for your joints or muscles.You likely also are just either skipping a meal or not eating much, when you do eat it's probably something quick so you can concentrate on the game again…which means it's probably some processed food that is pretty bad for you.And people who arnt gamers usually don't understand games and what's actually in them. Fir me, my parents tell me to read a book. But the games I play are heavily story based, so….honestly, it may as well be the same thing, except in the game I can shape the story myself a bit….So while your mom is right in not letting you game for a whole day, I suspect she simply just doesn't want you to play at all but let's you do it to avoid conflict, despite that gaming is like any other non-athletic recreational activity….Since I am a teenager who love gaming, I'm not gonna say “oh, it's such a waste of time, you shouldnt even do it in the first place”, or something. But if you do get opportunities to play for extended amounts of time, you should stop occasionally and walk around you house and at least lretend youre doing something for for avmonsbt to give the your parents the inprsssion that you are in fact in control of your gaming and can stop when you want. Walking around also is just good to get bloodflow going again, and will call you down so you can pwn everyone once you get back again B)Fyi, im quite guilty of gaming for a long time, though currently it's because it's to hot to do anything outside where I am for now…. But I do try doing the things I mentioned above, and they do seem to work to an extent. I also usually eat fruit instead if chips or other processed snack stuffs(though admittedly its mostly because i simply just love fruit and am not a big fan of chips, lol)
My mom thinks video games are bad?
My mom is freaking annoying. I'm 15 and she does not let me do anything for no **** reason. For example video games. Everytime I play a video game, whether it be Zelda or Halo or even Tetris, they keep saying retarded things like "hey video games make the mind tired! They make you stupid! They drain th mind!" and says **** that has never even been proven. They also say the same thing to listening to music. My mom broke my xbox controller because I was playing for 10 minutes and apparently I was damaging m brain. I don't even play mug I play like once a week and I be only on weekends when I have nothing to do. How the ruck do I live with a mom like this ???

I’m 17 years old and on the computer 5+ hours a day.Before that I would whittle my time away playing the XBox.My parents are extremely supportive of everything I do, but this is a topic they don’t talk about. Do they hate me for it? No. Do they hate that I play video games? Most definitely yes.My family feels that I for the most part don’t contribute to the family, which arguably they’re pretty correct. As much as I wish that I could prove them wrong, it doesn’t seem I’ll be given that opportunity. The one who really hates what I do is my brother. He works much harder than I do and I respect him for that, however I’m told off when I want to help. He doesn’t believe I actually want to help, and therefore I’m considered useless in his eyes (Which he hasn’t hesitated to tell me on multiple occasions).So my advice, get your foot in the door early and start helping out as much as you can for your family. They’ll appreciate you more for it, and you’ll form a strong work ethic which will help you to be more successful in life.
