Why Does My Puppy Only Listen To Me

My dog doesn't listen to me?

He is really starting to make me mad.
Since he is just a puppy, I have to go out with him. But he never does anything while we are out there. He just runs off and plays with sticks. (I know he has to go because I let him out when I get home from school. And my parents are at work so they can't let him out.) So after spending usually a half an hour waiting for him to go, I just get tired of it and let him inside. And then of course he decides to go inside, right after I had him out. But when my mom lets him out, he goes right away and has no problems.
I don't understand this, I spend the most time with him. I play with him, feed him, and walk him. I'm thinking it might be because I am the only one who disciplines him. My family just pets him and gives him all this loving when he has done something bad. So maybe he just hates me because I am actually trying to train him instead of being all soft with him.
The other problems I have with him is that he doesn't listen to me when I call him. I whistle, call his name, clap, and try to coax him over, but he completely ignores me.
I don't understand why he listens to my mom, but not me.
I need some advice please.
Thank you so much-
~Bailey

Why does my dog only listen to me?

I'm 17 and have 2 dogs, 1 american bulldog almost 4 years old and 1 mut (don't know she looks like a collie sheapord mix kind of?!) we sort of saved the mut after she got hit by a car we took her to the vet and she didn't have a collar or chip so they said we can either leave her or take her. She seemed fine at first but then whenever she would get into something (food or chewing something up) I would approach her in the act, take whatever it was she had, point at her and say "No, bad." And she would growl at me and show her teeth. Then she would try to bite me when I approach her to tell her no and take whatever she had away. After about a month of that, she seems to trust me and all I have to do is call her name and she will drop whatever she has and come to me. When my mom tries to get her to stop barking or chewing something she doesn't listen at all and will bark even more. My american bulldog we had since a pup and he use to chew everything up but he grew out of it and will only listen to my mom when she says breakfast(we call breakfast for feeding time) and potty(we live in an apartment so we can't let them stay outside) and he listens to me when I say come and other commands(I taught him to roll over, play dead, lay, sit, shake, and speak. Also "Get the bird, or get the squirell" he will look for them outside and bark if he sees one lol) also he likes to try and catch flies XD. But my question is why do they listen to me more than my mom? My mom feeds them but we both take them potty or for walks. (Mostly me on walks) I try training our mut but she only knows sit and lay and down. Why is it they listen to me? My american bulldog will sleep with me, if my door is shut he will wine until I let him in. And the other sleeps on the couch or near the door during summer.

My dog doesn't listen to me only?

I think my dog sees a ranking list. He will always listen to my mom and dad. He will most of the time listen to my sister. But when it comes to me, he barely ever listens at all.

My dog always chases me, and humps me. He even sometimes nibbles. Why does he diskllike me so much?

Why does my dog prefer my sister to me?

This can have multiple reasons. For starters, if your sister is the one to give him most attention, play with him, walk him, or cuddle with him, but you are the one feeding him, he will know where to go for attention (aka your sister) and where to go for food (aka you).Secondly, women generally have a softer voice (I'm just assuming you're a guy, if this is incorrect please ignore this point), which, in most dogs' perspective, gives a safer and kinder vibe. Dogs usually listen better to men's commands because of the lowness of the voice, but they feel more comfortable with a woman's voice. It is also possible of course that he just likes her smell. Though improbable that he would distinguish his fondness of you on smell, it is possible. Dogs have a much keener sense of smell than humans, and if he finds that she smells better than you, he might prefer being close to her.

Why does my cat follow me around? why does she only listen to me and not other family memberszzzzzzzz/?

Do you Feed your cat? they know who feed them they will follow you and drive you nuts

How can I train my dog to listen to me only?

It actually depends on dog breed and training you have given to your dog, along with this you should also know how dogs behave and react as every dog is different and have different QI levels like humans. It will take time to teach and train your puppy just keep on teaching and treat him on your commands and gesture so he can learn faster.. Dog Training: The Boring Stuff You Have To Know -

Dog won't listen unless you yell at him?

He needs to be trained, starting over from the basics.

Get some treats, and do the VERY basics, like sit. Hold a treat over his nose and wait until he sits. When he does, reward in a QUIET voice and give him the treat. Once he's sitting every time you hold the treat over his nose, say "sit" in a calm, firm(NOT loud) voice as he is sitting. Once his butt's on the ground, give him the treat and say good boy in calm, quiet, happy voice.

Not all dogs will get it at first, but you need to train using a calm, firm, and NOT loud voice. Do basic training("Sit" until the dog does it EVERY time, then move on to "Lay"--hold the treat on the ground and then follow the same routine like you did with "Sit"-- until he does that EVERY time, and then work on them both together so he does it EVERY time) and move on to higher and higher commands.

Don't get frustrated. Some dogs take longer than others. Stay calm, firm, and don't yell anymore.
