Why Does The Back Of My Head/neck Hurt When I Do Pullups

Why does the back of my head hurt, and neck and shoulders?

REASON: may be due to less sleep, sometime cervical rib too causes this pain but it is associated, with numbness in finger during sleep, but in your case, anxiety and tension looks more logical. try to sleep peacefully and if you wake up early in the morning as a routine then tension is the underlying cause. Remember pain at the base of skull and associated with pain in neck and pain on both sides of neck or shoulder with stiffness is due to tension and anxiety.
TREATMENT: any off the counter muscle relaxant, good night sleep will help, or try Tylenol. any pain medicine should always be taken with food. aspirin is a good choice but i never recommends this, but the choice is yours. Sometime a slow massage along with hot or cold packs is recommended, sometime its soothing, always consult your family physician,or you pharmacist who have all your record of drug allergies.
NOTE: please always consult your doctor who can check you physically, and since i have not examined you physically i have given you bookish knowledge.

Why does my head hurt when I masturbate?

To me your headache appears to be something known as benign coital headache.
The first and most common, is the benign coital headache, which tends to occur on a regular basis during or after sex, and is relatively harmless.

The second type is the "new onset" severe headache during sex/masturbation. This is a first time headache, which the patient generally characterizes as the worst headache of their life. This type of sex headache is a serious emergency until proven otherwise. Such a headache is often due to an acute brain hemorrhage or other serious condition. Fortunately, this type of first onset headache is a rare one but is a serious one.

Benign coital headaches tend to occur before or during orgasm, and may persist for a period of minutes, or hang on for hours after sex. It can occur in both men and women. Although benign coital or orgasmic headaches are very painful, and obviously limit sexual enjoyment, they present no other acute . Hope this helps

Why does the back of my neck hurt?

So all day today the back of my neck , both my shoulders, & my whole back have been hurting they hurt as if i need to crack them or get a really good massage...i have to constantly be moving my neck around in circles cuz it hurts so bad. Also two days before i had this pain on my chest like kind of my collarbone & it hurt so bad also the same pain like needing to crack my bones ugh it feels like all my bones hurt in my upper body & i dont do any hard jobs im a stay at home mom so idk whats causing this

I dont have insurance or else i would be asking my doctor!!!

The lower back is comprised of a few muscles, so isolating exactly what part of the movement and where in the back is the only way to get at the source of your discomfort. the term " core" is basically meaningless, and talking about " bad posture " is a bit of a nonstarter because you're training posture so it's presupposed that you'll be brushing up against that limitation as you train past it,  one thing to watch for is swinging, if the back hurts right at the spine and runs up and down the spine it could be weak erectors, or you could be straining them by swinging ( in which case your abs might indeed be part of the problem- but go ahead and learn their name and function individually and graduate beyond vague terms like "core")  if the pain is shallow but to the side of the spine, it could be the muscle the pull-up and chin up train best- lats, they extend well beyond the upper back and are the primary muscle trained in an overhand pull, if it's deep and to either or both sides check your quadratus lumborum- are you tight when doing lateral (side bend) stretches? Lastly if the pain is centered at the very base of the spine, you might have tight hip flexors. Are you sedentary for most of the day? Try lunges as a stretch before working on the movement, generally, stretching before a strength movement isn't the best idea, stretching afterwards is good. But the earlier suggestions about foam rolling might be helpful, if nothing else just to spot mobility issues, i question the idea of holding a point until " numb" as that seems counter to the idea of bringing tense or even ischemic tissue back into the system. The idea behind static pressure is to increase metabolic exchnange to enhance the bodys ability to self repair, I thimk boredom with a technique or exercise is a fantastic predicator of how efficacious it is. For example we are all by now bored by my pedantic post, so I'll just stop. Good luck.

Why does my right neck muscle hurt when I turn my neck?

Weight lifting will do it alright. Apply warmth to the area and massage it gently. The warmth should bring a lot of relief. If you don't have a heating pad, soak in a nice warm tub and toss in some Epsom Salts if you can. So soothing... If you are really in pain you may wish to take Motrin or other pain reliever to take the edge off. It should be better by tomorrow and for sure in a couple days. Best wishes♥ (Make sure you are warmed up before you start lifting the weights. If this continues to happen, you may also wish to invest in a new pillow. They have some specifically designed for neck pain)

Why does my neck hurt so much?

I can't turn my head to the right, tilt my head to the right, or tilt my head back very far. At first I thought I slept on it wrong, but when I do, it doesn't hurt for this long after (it's been about a day.) I'm glad I don't have to go anywhere this weekend, because not being able to look right would make it pretty hard to drive. Now that I think about it, it hurts at the lower right side of my neck, not quite at my shoulder.

Why does my neck hurt?

I suggest taking some cough medicine and you can get neck and stomach pains sometimes when you cough a lot for a long time.

Why does my head hurt at just the back of my head?

Your head hurts in the back because of tight muscles. Tight neck muscles also cause your headaches. The muscles go to the top of your head where they connect to muscles going around your head. When the neck muscles get tight they pull the head muscles into pain and that's your headache. You are getting tensed up in class which is causing the muscles to go back tight to keep causing your headaches. When the muscles are tight they restrict the blood flow in your head, even have some that backs up putting extra pressure, tension, in your head for that headache. Tight neck muscles are a common symptom listed by people with tight neck muscles. To get rid of the pains and to keep them from happening again you have to free up your neck muscles and here's how to free them up:
Neck Release:
Place your hands behind your head touching your fingers. Press into the back of your neck with them and hold the pressure on them. After 45 seconds slowly lower your head until your neck is fully extended. Release the pressure but hold your head there for another 30 seconds. repeat if needed.
The neck and back share muscles so often the problems can transfer to the other group as well. Tight muscles in your back can make your body feel achy without any real pain itself. That the neck muscles were tight so low to your back would make me free up the back muscles as well to get a full body relief from those pains and here's how to free them up for that relief:
Back:
(do while sitting)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side. For both- for best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

I agree with Jennifer I think you have orthostatic hypotension. Jennifer explained it rather well but she implies that you simply need to be better controlled standing up more slowly. Unfortunately it could be two other conditions that require some serious attention. You may be dehydrated. In a young person who is very active that can occur over the course of a couple of days of significant activity especially if your in a hot climate. You should be drinking at least 2 liters daily. The hypotension can make you dizzy and weak especially when you first get up. As Jennifer pointed out your Arteries will equilibrate in a few seconds after you stand, but initially you will feel weak and dizzy and in some cases your head could hurt too.The second potential is that certain medications can cause this orthostatic hypotension to occur. I had several patients who were using tricyclate antidepressants such as pamalor who had a normal pulse rate and blood pressure laying down. But on standing their pulse rate doubled while their blood pressure dropped.Try laying down for 3 minutes then take your pulse rate for a minute. Then stand and keep standing for 3 minutes. Retake your pulse rate for another minute. Laying down it should be 60–100. If higher than 100 to 120 you need to consider fluids. Greater than 120 you need a doctor's assessment. While standing if the pulse rate increases after waiting 3 minutes to equalize, and it goes to less than 20 beats higher then while laying down you have some orthostatic hypertension. While if the pulse rate is greater than 20 bpm you need to be checked or at least rehydrated.

If you can imagine a rigid box ( your skull) with a firm jello( brain) inside wrapped in plastic wrap, ( dura) you have an idea what the anatomy is like. If you twisted the box quickly and forcefully the jello would move and bang against the side of the box .:- it's how you can get a concussion if the bang is hard enough. The plastic wrap /dura may be tweaked and it has pain receptors. The brain has non.So you are tugging at something that will hurt if stretched. Now a quick shake like you have done is not going to permanently damage anything, but it may give a sharp quick pain . However shaking hard as has happened to babies can kill them as the brain moves more inside the skull. Everything is not as tightly packed until the fontanelle ( soft spot) closes .
