Since 1980 -What are some real accomplishments by republicans that empowers average citizens for the long term?
Don't close this question for another week or so and maybe I can come upo with something. I changed my affiliation from the Republican party last year and am now registered as a Democrat. I seldom vote party lines preferring to vote for whom I feel is best for the office. I became so disgusted with the Republican party for the past two years I could no longer remain registered as a part of their party, It seems every thing the elected administration tried to do they fought it. It was obvious they had no intentions of helping fix Americas problems but rather to do what ever they could do to see the Obama Administration failed. They put party above America and are prepared to see America fails. If Obama, or any elected official is going to fail it should be on their own.
Why are republicans against universal background checks for gun sales?
They claim that they want to keep guns out of the hands of people who are mentally unstable, the Democrats agree. But every time a bill comes up to implement universal background checks the republicans in congress suddenly change their stance for the duration of the debate of the bill.
Would guest worker permits and mandatory E-verify at all businesses be more effective at reducing illegal immigration than a Trump wall?
I think it’s a terrific idea. In fact, I cannot for the life of me understand why Republicans have not been wholeheartedly behind stronger enforcement of employment laws in the first place. If US employers really had anything to fear by breaking the law, who knows how much illegal immigration would be cut.Let’s make no mistake about it: All this talk about illegal immigrants and the animosity towards them that Donald Trump’s ilk foments would not be an issue if there were not also CRIMINAL EMPLOYERS, including Donald Trump, who so readily hire them instead of Americans. For every illegal coming across a border, there is a criminal here who will hire them. When Donald Trump, the Republican leadership in Washington, and everyone voting for Trump takes as hard, vicious, and Draconian line with the criminals who employ illegal workers as they do those workers, maybe, just MAYBE they will gain enough high ground to continue the savage attack on those workers. Until then, I think they need to shut…up.
