Why does UPS not specify what time end of day delivery is?
I've wondered that myself. I can see that there are GPS antennas on the trucks. And given the precise way they handle every other aspect of their business, I find it impossible to believe that they don't know where their trucks are at any given moment. But for whatever reason, they won't supply this to their customers. That means residential customers are left having to basically stand by the door for up to 14 hours a day if signature is required. What's doubly frustrating is that, in my area, the drivers rarely actually bring the package to the front door; instead, they pre-fill the "missed you" tag, run up the door and stick it on the glass while simultaneously ringing the bell. More than once I've had to run out the front door and flag down the driver.I realize that residential delivery is not a big ticket item for them, that their bread and butter is corporate deliveries. That's fine. It's just confusing as to why they won't make data they already have, available to their users. Waiting for 14 hours within five feet of the front door is just not a reasonable request.
Does usps also deliver in the afternoon if im expecting a package?
i ordered something from Australia and they said they ship it flat rate international, can my order till come in the late evening/afternoon/ or does that type of mail only come in the morning?

does that mean it will arrive on that day ? like today monday it said 2 days then it switched to 1 business day late afternoon so does it mean it will arrive Next Day? which is tuesday ?

Drivers follow the designated path to ensure the most efficient overall delivery. The packages are loaded into the UPS truck according to that same designated path with the last deliveries in the very back and the first deliveries right at the driver’s finger tips. That is why you will see very consistent delivery times by location. Since your deliveries are regularly at the end of the day, it is a good bet that your address is toward the end of the UPS delivery route for your area. You can create an account at Shipping, Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain Management from UPS and then you will be able to set up email notifications for deliveries and view a 2 hour time window within which your package will most likely be delivered. There are exceptions: next day air packages with time guarantees and anomalies, i.e. a mis-loaded package or a package that becomes loose during the delivery day and moves from its designated location, etc.
What does it mean when UPS tracking says "By end of day"?
I've been tracking my UPS package online & according to the tracking information it's in my town on the delivery truck & is suppose to be delivered today. The delivery date says it's supposed to be here on 3/27/2015 Bye the end of the day. It's already 4:17 & I don't remember ever receiving a package this late in the afternoon. What happens if it doesn't get delivered today?
How long does ground shipping through UPS take to get from New York to California?
6-8 BUSINESS Days. USPS says 5 days from state of New York to State of California. So add 1-3 Days for "In-State" Processing. It could be significantly longer too, if you don't package the mail properly, if it's an 'over-weight' package, if it's an odd size package, if you've delivered it to the PO late in the afternoon (may not get mailed until next business day) especially on a Friday. Or if you've done anything else that makes them decide to hold on to it. But in most cases probably 6 Business Days.
How long does a dropped off package at ups store stay there?
Until the next business afternoon/evening. Your package was dropped off Friday evening or late Friday afternoon, so it stays there until Monday, the same as if it was dropped off Monday morning.. If it had been dropped off Friday morning, then it would have left late Friday afternoon or early Friday evening.
