Why Does Windows Phone 7 Not Support Silverlight In The Browser

This page does not support your version browser?

Depends. But probably by the sound of it.

Update your browser just in case. I've got a link to chrome in the sources. But you can update by clicking on the wrench icon, and scrolling down to "about chrome" updates automatically through there.

If it is a virus its probably just on your computer though, not the router. I'd suggest downloading the following few bits of software.

Also if you're using IE, i suggest getting a decent browser (I have a personal hatred of IE both as a user and developer) I personally recommend google chrome, but some people prefer other browsers like opera, safara, or firefox. I'll link chrome too
1: Anti Virus (if you don't have one) I'd say if you're on win7 or vista go to microsoft site and download microsoft security essentials.
2: Anti-Spyware:

I have several anti-spyware software installed. spybot s&d. Malwarebytes, and Spyware Blaster.

3: cCleaner: Just because its nice to have a tidy PC

Install the above software, update and run and hopefully it'll solve any problems.

---------------------------------------...

To the latest update. You've got yourself a nasty virus (i say nasty, annoying is a better term) which has hooked itself in through the network to your various PCs. Here is your best option now.

Start up your PC in safe mode with networking
update your anti-virus etc through that, and run them through that. It SHOULD stop the virus interfering

Those types of virus normally come when you've downloaded something via torrent, or installed a piece of software with it attached. Some of them are easy to remove, others are a pain in the ***. Any chance you can take a screenshot of the page its taking you to and posting it via imageshack or photobucket?

What is Microsoft Silverlight supposed to do?

Silverlight is like Adobe Flash. As far as other people storing stuff on your computer, I think you misunderstand. When you go to a web site that uses Silverlight, it's going to store YOUR settings on your computer for Silverlight to function. Here are a couple of examples of what Silverlight does:

1. Netflix uses Silverlight to stream movies to your computer. When you're watching movies on Netflix, that's happening via Silverlight.

2. My local Sheriff's department has a "Miranda's Law" web page that shows where sex offenders live in my community. Silverlight is the technology that shows the map, lets me zoom in and out, and click on the red dots that represent sex offenders to find out exactly what they did to become a sex offender.

What does it mean I am using an unsupported browser?

Hi. I am no expert on computers but I would tend to beleive that if you are getting an error message as such that you probably dont have a BHO Or Tool backing your browser. Sometimes spyware will act as though it is a BHO or tool that does not have a digital signature. A good example of a BHO would be a Java or more. I have four signatured Javas and symantec backing my Internet Explorer. Some software wont download without A BHO on your browser. This is probably where you got the message. I am not real sure how to have one installed but if you install the old and the newer version of Java it will ask you if you want it to back your browser. Try contacting your browsers support page.

Windows phone 7 apps?

Hello,

Ok i need a little understanding on this.

Windows phone 7 supports silverlight, i have written a very basic silverlight app using visual web developer 2008, how can i run this on my windows phone, if i go to the url its just a blank white square.

Im thinking its because you cant run silver light apps from a browser, or that i need to write silverlight apps using visual studio 2010???

so my questions:
a - how can i run from my mobile a silverlight app that is online (for example the silverlight showcases)
b - are all apps written on the windows phone 7 written in silverlight?

What are Windows Phone 7 phones like?

They're not bad but the OS is not mature enough.

Positives:
- Fast, Smooth & Easy To Use
- XBOX LIVE Integration
- OTA Updates
- METRO UI

Negatives:
- Not Enough Features & Functions
- Not Enough Choices
- Expensive For The Hardware You Get
- Low Number Of Apps
- Lack Of Language Support

Compared To Android:
Windows Phone IMO is much more faster, smoother and more reliable (not to mention more secure) than Android is and the hardware specs. on these phones are much lower than those on high end Android phones. However, they lacks a lot of features and functions to make it a very competitive OS. Although, they are adding features through updates like Mango. Windows Phone choices are much lower than Android phones where there are tons. Android tends to be more open while Windows Phone tends to be more closed. Windows Phone is aimed to be more of a social media phone so basically, you can get the latest feeds just with a simple press on a certain tile.

Compared To iOS:
Both Windows Phone and iOS are very similar when it comes to performance. Although, Windows Phone right now is like iOS back in 2007. It lacks a lot of features to make it good. But at least they're bringing these features in less than a year (as opposed to iOS which took 4 years to get those features like multitasking). Windows Phone gives yo a larger number of different handsets to choose from so you don't have to have this one phone (like iPhone 4). Also, the lack of apps can make it a loosing point. It's main advantage is that it has XBOX LIVE while iOS has Game Center. Also, unlike iOS it will have Adobe Flash Player soon. These phones are also much more responsive and the home screen shows more content.

Compared To Blackberry OS:
Windows Phone is probably better. Blackberry OS is like Symbian (a burning OS). Although it's has more features than Windows Phone right now, most aren't as interested anymore. Blackberry phones were pretty much aimed at the Business users (just like Windows Mobile 6.5 and below) and because of that, it lost in popularity. Windows Phone is aimed on a larger audience so it does get better apps and the hardware on those phones are much better than those on Blackberry phones so internet use is much better.
