Why is Quora more popular than Yahoo Answers? What elements make it the more popular Q&A site?
A couple of years back, early 2015 I guess, I wanted to know about the basics of big data and its importance in industry.I googled “What is Big data”The first link popped up was Wikipedia - I opened in a new tab and set it aside.The second link was from Yahoo answers. I opened and was looking for some useful information.There were answers like:I was confused, irritated and most of the answers didn’t answer the question.The next link which popped was from Quora.I could find answers like this:Answer was by Balaji Viswanathan (பாலாஜி விஸ்வநாதன்) sir. That is the moment I followed him and read his other answers too! And that was the moment i decided not to refer yahoo answers for anything in future.Unlike Yahoo answers, Why was the answer better?It summed up all the information - technical explanation with real life examplesPictures made it easier for me to connect with answerThe credential “Ran a Big data company” made me believe the answer is from someone trustworthy.Upvotes and comments of appreciation from people in related field made me feel secured about the answerComments were healthy and was debating its future application.So, with no further discussions, Quora is always better than Yahoo answers.
Should Yahoo Answer rate Askers?
Yes. Since many of the questions I answered went into vote recently, I checked the profiles of each of the askers. Needless to say I was a bit surprised. There were more "Chosen by Voters" than I thought I would encounter in their resolved questions. I have decided that if the asker does not frequently check answers to his/her question and select a Best Answer to his/her queries, I won't answer, even if the practice results in me losing my Top Contributor badge. You can check my profile if you like. I ALWAYS maintain the policy of selecting Best Answers to my questions. I check for answers every half hour after a query. The main problem here is that many askers just want answers to their questions. Once they see a satisfactory answer, they just jot it down (happens a lot in Science and Maths section) and forget about the question. There are even some evil askers who just do not want someone to get 10 points at the expense of their 5. Yahoo! showing the asker's resolving statistics in the ID card might take up space, but it would really help me decide whether to answer the guy's questions or not. I'm all for rating askers here. ^_^ Tell you what Dr D, I have an idea. Why don't we post this in the Answers forum? I'm sure someone in the staff will listen. I will.

Delete comments on rate my teacher?
Ok so it all happened when I was on the website looking at some teacher ratings from my school with some friends and they decided they wanted to rate a specific teacher badly. They told me to type what they wanted and I did. But the teacher recently found the comment and said if its not deleted soon that he would take it to court and fine whoever did it. There are a few problems though. I go to boarding school and use my school server. and the teacher I'm talking about is a Math/IT teacher so I'm pretty screwed. I know I shouldn't have typed it but it wasn't just me who did it. But they started to freak when they told me what the teacher said so I said I would take full blame for them. I need help in finding out how to delete the comment if you could help me I would be so grateful! And please don't tell me how much of an idiot I am because I know. Please help me out.

Why do some people "Like" their own Facebook status?
How often do we actually dislike or disagree with our own comments. Ok I understand if the status states that they are is sick, or if the weather is terrible, then they might not "like" it. But I think it's silly to "like" your own comment if it's something like, "I"m going to Hawaii"!
