Facebook: Why does Facebook keep updating its app every other day for Android?

A developer can have many reasons to update an Android App. Most times they do it when there's a overall bug or when there's a bug only with respect to a particular number ( a notable number ) of phones - due to some specific reason. Then there's improvements in the app, and extra features. Most times it's improvement and bug fixing. You can check this even in the Google Play Store new features list of the App.Facebook has the same reasons. And I suppose Facebook is making high quality content available in the app, especially images and other media stuff. I have seen many of my friends downgrading to older versions and some even regretting that they updated the app and are not able to find an older version. It's because they felt that the old version of the app was faster - in terms that it loaded the news feed really fast. If the newer versions are slow, it might simply mean the content quality has increased. Besides, people are very much ready to use the app even if it uses too much Internet data and is showing high quality content. And such people use 3G, 4G and what not, so the App is kinda faster or at least, it doesn't look slow. And other people who have less Internet speed - for them it will look as thought the App is slow, since it takes time to load high quality content.And if high content quality is already available, well, then a company like Facebook has to of course take care of all the traffic coming from the Apps, so they can always update the app to make small modifications to take care that everyone who has the App can access Facebook in an efficient manner. Now, you could say that "In that case Facebook has to make it server better to control traffic". Well, I agree, but then, it's the App that's sending the request to the server, so modifications can be made to the App to change the way or algorithm of requests. I hope you get the point.And as an App user, you won't see any "significant" updates. Since it's all the inside working that's updated most times and the user interface will remain the same, and that's all you see and call as "significant" when you use the App.And I get it that updates can be annoying, even I feel that at times, but we can't do anything about this. Just don't update if you don't want to, like my friends do. And I actually stopped using the app about an year or two ago and stopped Fbing too ( Quora addiction now ;) ). But I do know about it because of my friends.

There are more videos than ads*. Which is why only every nth monetized video actually displays ads. And now that a lot of advertising companies have pulled their ads from Google (and Youtube) thanks to the whole Pewdiepie/WSJ debacle even less ads are available for us creators. The people who will suffer the most from this change are smaller Youtubers like you.I looked at your channel and I’d highly encourage you to enable the custom layout feature. It will make your channel look more “presentable”. Most people won’t give your channel the time of the day if they see that you’re using the default layout settings (speaking from experience).Best regardsAntonio*I’ll go a little bit more into the details here because I don’t know if you know how advertising on Youtube works. The amount of ads is limited because there’s no such thing as an unlimited ad campaign. So whenever a company wants to buy a certain amount of ads from Youtube they do so by means of an ad campaign [with predefined/limited amounts of ads]. What this entails is that there’s always a bottleneck. Since pretty much everybody enables monetization and the amount of displayable ads is limited; the only people who actually get to make money from those aforementioned ads are the bigger fish (Youtubers with at least 100k+ subscribers). And it’s only going to get worse since we’re in the process of connecting even more people to the internet; within a couple of years we’ll manage to give many people in developing countries the opportunity to access the internet. Approximately hundreds of million new users (most of which will also go on to create Youtube channels etc.). If you think Youtube is too competitive right now just wait a couple more years when the influx sets in.On a personal side note: If you’re just in it for the money you’re doing it wrong. You’d have to create high quality evergreen content on a regular basis in order to make a living off your Youtube videos. And even then it wouldn’t be “guaranteed”.
