Good diet for german volume training?
I recommend with German volume training in general is don't do any isolation movements like Curls, or Any extensional for the triceps. Lets say for Back/Biceps and you going to do DB rows for 10x10 that should count as back and biceps together, so it knocks them both out with one exercise. If you don't you will have a high chance if over training, which will lead to plateaus in muscle growth. Nutrition wise I would just use a normal protein shake and eat a granola bar, instead of a mass gainer. Mass gainers should be a last resort, like your at the office and you cant make a meal. If your really looking to add bulk to your body I would just eat constantly Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches consistently through out the day and Apples. Apples are great. Pretty much to sum it up Yes I do think you will gain muscle from German volume training, but be sure to switch the exercises every month or so. You want your body to experience hypertrophy. What's the deal about semicolons?
dk1, those were my thoughts, too. You belong in the Dix and Kabum camp. But, I think Vet makes an awfully good argument. Plus, the point he makes is, after all, why I asked the question in the first place. I can see where using periods, even where a semicolon would be appropriate, might allow for a degree of punctuation oblivion as far as the average reader is concerned. Or, if the reader is punctuation savvy, might it not slow him down, like it does me sometimes, when I pause to think, "Should've used a semicolon there, booby." How about you, reader, still on the fence?

Hiking/camping: Is 5 lbs too heavy for a backpacking pack?
if it's just weekend trips then you'll be just fine with however heavy your pack weighs--a heavy pack over that short a period of time isn't that big of a deal. for simple overnight trips i'll take my bigger/heavier pack, too, because i'll have a lot more comfort items with me that i wouldn't take on a long-distance trip. if you decide to start doing long-distance hiking then a 5-lb pack is too heavy, but having two packs isn't a bad thing. and yes, you can get lighter packs that aren't terribly expensive. it's not super-light, but my 2 lb. Osprey was $75.
