Why Dont I Have Arm Pit Hair

Why don't I have armpit hair?

I am 15 almost 16 and I don't have armpit hair. All of my friends do. I have included a pic so you can see I have no hair there absolutly none. I used a crappy camera so it is not the best pic , but it is just there to prove a point. So any advice as to how I can grow it or at least why I have none. My brothers ,14 and 17 have hair there and they tease me about it and show it all the time ,but why don't I have any???

Im 13 and i dont have armpit hair.?

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

You my friend have either gotten really lucky and don't have armpit hair [trust me, you don't want it, it is the pits... hehehe] OR you'll get it later.

Don't worry, this is completely normal! Some guys [I am so sorry if I just called you a guy and you are a girl, my deep and sincere apologies.] don't even grow facial hair or chest hair. It's all genetics. [Ask your parents whether your family is particularly hairy.]

Hope I helped :)

I'm 13 and I don't have armpit hair!?

Thats fine! Some people are a bit late on that. But consider yourself lucky. I personally think it is gross when guys have a bush on there armpits. Wait about a year and i will come.

Why do we have armpit hair?

There are two versions of sweat glands which occur in mammals: eccrine glands and apocrine glands. The former is distributed across the whole body and is the main cooling mechanism for the Homo lineage. It excretes eccrine sweat, which is mostly water and electrolytes. On the other hands, apocrine glands are very sparsely located in certain locations like the eyelids, nipples, armpits, and nasal wings. What is so special about these areas? Right, they are associated with constant mechanical movement! Eyes blinking, nasal contraction, infant suckling, and arm movement. Apocrine glands excrete an oily, fat-rich substance. Presumably, then, the role of armpit hair is to absorb this apocrine sweat and keep the armpit from chafing due to friction. Indeed, modern humans have far more developed apocrine sweat glands in the axillary regions than other primates (Kurosumi, Kazumasa; Shibasaki, Susumu; Ito, Toshiho (1984). "Cytology of the Secretion in Mammalian Sweat Glands".)This may be an insight into the uniqueness armpit hair and its relation to bipedalism. It may also have to do with endurance running and could explain why men have more active apocrine glands than women in the axillary region. Indeed, we must not forget that chafing of the chest is a serious concern of marathon runners today. Lastly, we must not assume that our ancestors had armpit hair like straight-haired Eurasians today. Their armpit hair was likely short and curled, giving it a trim appearance. In those who have straight hair, axillary hair can become very long, and this is probably not a reflection of our ancient genetic heritage.

I don't have armpit hair?

READ what you wrote - on the first line you "don't have any armpit hair" and in the second line it's "I HAVE...." but I suppose you meant "I DON'T have...." to which I will say - so what - what are you going to do with it when it DOES grow - for a start at 14 it matters not one iota whether or not you have armpit hair and when it DOES come through, you'll be back asking the best way to shave it off!

Why don't girls have armpit hair?

They do; most just shave or wax or use any of the dozen other methods of hair removal. And some don’t even bother:

Im 17 and i still have no armpit hair!?

coz ur a lucky SOB

I'm 18 and I don't have armpit hair yet!! Please help.?

Puberty is never set in stone. Some boys don't finish developing completely until they are in their twenties.

All I can say is that you should give them time and not do anything to rush it along.

Even if it turns out that you don't get armpit hair, you should probably count yourself lucky, as the hair only makes the armpits smell worse because of the oil and bacteria they hold.
