Why Have I Suddenly Begun To Get Scared

Why was the cat so scared all of a sudden?

I think Po got startled by something that he associated with that spot on the wall. Maybe something poked him or he had a sudden stomach pain. At the same moment he might have seen some tiny movement at that spot - cats can actually see light glinting off dust motes. Maybe he was already a little anxious and then this all happened. Cats are biologically programmed to watch very closely when anything unexpected happens, and he was just making SURE that nothing else was going to happen.

Why has my cat suddenly started to run away from me?

Cats have a reputation for being elusive and mercurial, however, if your buddy has had a sudden change in behavior that’s not in character, they may be in pain. Cats do not have unconditional trust in humans, which is bred through centuries of domestication. Your cat is hiding because:You’ve broken their trust somehow, like being away from home for a long period (even overnight), you tried to punish them, an environmental change occured, or someone unintentially offended them in some wayYour cat is sick. Cats sometimes think of humans as big dumb cats. Felines are vulnerable when they don’t feel well, so they will run/hide away from other predators (yes we are). Take your bud to the vet for a wellness visit if this continues.Encouraging social behavior:Try to block off any “caves” in which your scaredy cat will try to hide.Do not try to drag your cat out of hiding with your giant meaty claw hands.Lure your cat out with treats (if food motivated) or a wand toy ( if play motivated).Be a dependable guardian - make a schedule that includes their needs. Cats are crepuscular; they’re most active at dawn and dusk. Food and play should be around then- at the same time every day.Seperately, you can check the litter box to make sure they are peeing/pooping regularly. Occasional barfing is normal, but if you notice regular ralphs, make an appointment.Good luck with your bud.

Why did I suddenly feel scared and disconnected from reality?

This is not an infrequent thing to have happen to people, it’s just that most people won’t talk about such things, they happen infrequently to most people and it all seems to be a private matter where one might have been exceedingly made afraid but in retrospect the fear dissipates and becomes less and less important. There are likely a number of reasons that this occurs, a person may have some chemical imbalance, or a person could be under some emotional stress that they haven’t really been able to pinpoint the source or they do know the source of stress but have been avoiding dealing with the underlying problem and it surfaces with authority demanding attention. And perhaps lastly, “reality” is merely an agreed upon paradigm or what is in a given society. Our individual realities are widely disparate and quite labile and facile. Realize that your personal idea and view of reality is presently radically different than when you were a child or even 10 years younger and will be different tomorrow than what it is today. The actual truth is that you may have suddenly become of a slightly greater reality than what you had previously allowed yourself and were startled and your sense of security shaken and that caused a minor anxiety attack that fairly quickly faded. It happens all the time to people and my advice would be to take a hot bath and relax, but you already did that, just kidding. Don’t make it larger by worrying unnecessarily and giving it greater strength by fighting it and letting it grow by dwelling upon the episode. It likely won’t happen again for a long time. If it does you can always check with your medical support specialists for an opinion.

Every time there is a small sound around me, I get scared suddenly. Why does this happen and what can I do about this?

Would you believe it if I were to say I also face the same problem as you?!I'm also startled EVERY TIME my wife walks  into my office room when I'm working. Or when someone walks into the bedroom while I was reading a book. My heart literally misses a beat and I simply go into a shock for a couple of seconds. In fact its so frequent I keep joking that some day I might even die of shock:(Though its a frequent happening I'm not unduly worried. For the simple reason which I believe is the reason for this. Whatever I do I do it with 100% concentration. So if I'm working on my laptop I'm totally cut off from the world around me! Hence when someone comes very close to me I miss a heart beat as I'm totally immersed in my work. Its not that they appear all of a sudden. But because I'm focussing on my work they appear to me suddenly when they come into my near vision  only and not before. Similarly whenever I'm reading a book I'm totally into it. And same thing happens whenever someone comes near or suddenly some loud noise happens. In fact many people are also startled by the alarm clock in the morning when they are in deep sleep. Its because they are in deep sleep and are suddenly woken up by the loud sound of the alarm! All the other factors/facts mentioned by you don't have anything to do with the phenomenon. If you are also like me  in the sense you get immersed in anything you do then I feel its a normal thing. But if you aren't like that then I don't know the answer:(

Winter has just begun here and my cat is suddenly timid, quiet, and scared. He is eating, but he also hides. What is wrong with him and should I be worried? He is a very confident and playful kitty and normally loves being around people.

Cats sometimes adjust their behavior in winter for a number of reasons, including their owner’s schedule, how much they’re fed and how often, and even the amount of light they receive during the day. Appetite, sleep pattern, and energy can all change from season to season due to the fact that in colder seasons, there is less sunlight. Domestic cats can suffer from seasonal depression like humans can. If a cat’s behavior can be triggered by exposure to natural light, the onset of winter can very much affect them, too. You probably shouldn't worry too much. Just make sure he's getting enough warmth, food and playtime. Not all cats show this odd behavior, some even are more cuddly in the winter months, it just depends on the cat. If you're really worried however, check with a vet to insure its because of the winter and not due to some kind of illness.

Why did my cat suddenly start sleeping next to me?

I’m not sure what the details are here, but they matter. If your cat has been with you for years and suddenly has moved to sleep by your side, then yes, it wants to be warm, but I’d be looking for other things. This happened to me. My beloved cat of 11 years suddenly started snuggling with me every night, close, spooning, couldn’t get enough. I was ecstatic. He really does love me!! Couple months after his 12th birthday, he died of cancer. So while all these answers are true, a cat does want your warmth and he won’t take it unless he trusts you, if this is truly a “sudden” thing out of thin air, I’d be taking stock of everything that was going on. Does the cat seem depressed, does the cat seem lethargic, eating less, etc. I’m not trying to scare you, just to make you aware. You also have to take in factors like age, time spent with you, have there been other things introduced in the house, could it be a sudden insecurity over heaven knows what? I have one now that is fine being on his own until I put his shirt on (he has skin issues and we do this to keep him from licking) and then suddenly he can’t be out of my lap. However, I have known people who’ve taken in feral cats and years down the line, 6, 8 years, the cat suddenly decided their human was the best thing on earth. Now you know the “why”, you’ll have to be the judge of the cause. I’m hoping you’ve a cat that’s just finally figured out that he trusts his human.Photo is of my beloved Teazer.

Arowana suddenly stopped eating, why?

I have a silver arowana about 8 inches long, ive had him for 2 months and the first month he was absolutely fine. But about a month ago he suddenly stopped eating and gets scared extremely easy now. Also his fins are starting to become shredded and he is the only fish in the tank(125g growout). I did not change anything in the tank since i did large and small water changes to make sure the amonia levels were good. But he still does not eat and still gets scared... He was not like this before, he used to eat pellets regularly aswell as FD shrimp and bloodworms. I also fed him crickets and he shows no interest in them now. What do i do? The filteration is good, i have 2 eheim 2217 and a HOB penguin 350, powerhead, and air stone...also the temp is about 78-80 degrees.
