Why can't my Firefox browser connect to websites?

All of a sudden Firefox is not working. I click on the icon in the tray and the page comes up with the search bar in the middle. I type a website in, click search and a page comes up saying Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at whatever website I have typed in. I have un-installed and re-installed.,tried it with the firewall down and still nothing. It says to check proxy settings but I have no idea what I should be looking for. I did nothing in regards to any setting prior to all this happening. I can't find any support links to contact Mozilla for help from them.

Why won't Mozilla Firefox open on my Mac?

You may have a second copy hung or it working or in partial upgrade mode. I've had this happen as well.Right click on the app icon ( if it's in your dock) and choose quit or force quit to shut the app down. Sometimes this hangs so you need to fire up the Activity Monitor, find Firefox and click it to highlight the app, then choose the force quit icon at the top of the app list to shut it down. Then restart the app. Check for updates and have Firefox install those.

Why does Firefox keep consuming memory until the PC can't handle it and it crashes?

Modern browsers use a lot of memory. Not just the browsers but the websites we visit.A browser is becomingcloser to a Cloud Operating System than to a internet navigator, this is an amazing thing, but has some drawbacks.Try this, might help: http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/how...Without more information I will assume that Firefox is using that amount of ram because of one or more of the following reason's:Lots of Open Tabs, this create a huge amount of memory to keep each page open and responsive.Firefox extensions/addons that eat memory (AdBlockers for example).Faulty Extension/Add-on/Configs may create leaks or loops that increase memory usage. Some virus or malware (try a free Malawarebytes scan). In aany case its important to note that 2gb of ram is really low for modern usage of a computer. To improve you should look into optimising your Swap File space.Hope this helps :)

Why won't my Firefox window open full-screen anymore?

If you are using Windows, Windows will only track and remember the position of up to 28 Windows at a time. It could be a corrupt "StreamMRU" key, where the windows positions are stored. You can either edit the registry or use a free tool like CCleaner to make the fix. My Firefox stopped working?

I can't get the Firefox AutoProxy in China. So how can I use Google?

While using a proxy server was sufficient to jump of the Grate Firewall of China 10 year ago, it isn't going to work today. The systems used today are more advanced. You should look for a VPN (Virtual Private Network) which should then give you access to blocked sites. Most free VPN's are low quality. Paying a few dollars a month will mean a more reliable service. For reference, though you can't use Google, you can use Yahoo and Bing instead without any issues.
