Why can't India be declared as a Hindu country?
India, our country is well known for it's 'Unity in Diversity'. As religion, language, culture and beliefs of people changes from place to place. In spite of all these diversities, India has achieved the unity and emerged as a ‘Nation'. India is a 'Secular' country as mentioned in the preamble of Indian Constitution. People of different religions ( Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain etc) stay in India with ' Equal Rights and Opportunities'.Misconception of 'India as a Hindu dominant country' or 'India as a Hindu County' is due to the following reasonsPopulation of Hindu religion is high.Taking population of country into account on religion bases, 80.5% of total population is belong to Hindu religion, 13.5% to Muslim religion, 2.3% to christian and remaing population belogs to Sikh, Buddh, Jain etc. It is easy to account that Hindu population is high compared to other religions. This factor may create in one's mind that India is Hindu country.2. India is also known as 'Hindustan'.India was known as Hindustan, prior to British rule. The word Hindu derived from the old Persian term indicates river 'Sindhu', the name of Indus river in Sanskrit. Thus, ‘Hindustan' is ' Land beyond the Indus river' and it is nothing to do with the Hindu religion.For Democratic country like India, all citizens are equal irrespective of their religion. Each and every citizen is provided with equal rights and nobody is superior or inferior infront of the constitution. Verdict of Allahabad High court regarding Religious dispute of 'Ram janm bhumi- Babri masjid' is the best example of Secularism of the country. According to the verdict Ayodya land is devided into 3 equal parts. First part went to Hindus for construction of Ram temple, second part to Muslims and third one to Nirmohi Akhara.India is not only a secular country it is also a country of ‘Faternity’.After considering all these points India can't be declared as a Hindu country as each and every citizen treated equally.
Does the Hindu religion belong to a minority community in India?
No not at all !First of there should be some facts about hinduism and its history1- Hindusim is not a religion . Its a eternal way of living .which has not clarified with its origin dates only a small portion of historian and archaelogist belives it be 4000 years ago . Some believe to be more than 10000 years ago and before it . This is because it is not being startef by an individual or being based on a particular ideology . The different rishis brahmin scholars of merely all subject had together provided resources to these practises and belives. These belives were called to be sanatan belives . Later vedic system started with the collectoion all the resources of all these scholars . A particular society was formed to look after it . The practise was limited to only indian subcontinent with no aim of spreading it across the world . The practise was like a university comprising all subjects with only one comman thing i.e all were students .tge development went very fastly.But some arbian started trading with outr country .they could not prounce the river sindhu , they mummerd it has the hinduLater when these muslim invaded india they marked us as hindustaan and because they were the beliver of the religion islaam they justifed our complete practise involving (culutral and scientific innovation ) to be a religion hinduism.Britishers marked the same things and divided us on hindus and muslims.After independence muslim made a religion based country pakistaan .and india as its history was secular countryThe small portion of muslim were living in the country termed to ve minority, including sikh , christanity and buddhism .The rest if of all are regarded as a hindu with no proper rule .These include all tribal communities , aprticular tribe beliver .and morever the practisers of statue worshiper .So 78% population of the country is like this practising a differnt tradition , faith and belives the only comman things are statue worship and poly-god concept and are under oms shed called as hindus . Thus they are nowhere a minority.
Unlike some widespread religions, why is Hinduism mostly confined to India?
The reason why Hinduism is mostly confined to the country of India is simply because the country of India was the original place where the teachings of Hinduism started and spread from there !
FYI - Muslims in India much safer than any other country?
I have been seeing post's saying that India is not a safe country for a person practicing Islam. Let me tell you. It is non-sense. I am a Hindu. I live in a Muslim neighborhood. I have many Muslim friends. My best friend is also a Muslim. We are always good to each other. The incidents that you hear about are usually done by people who have a communal mentality, not a true Hindu or a Muslim. I feel that India is the only eastern country where a Muslim can freely express his opinion. Many seats are reserved for Muslims in educational institutions and govt jobs. Not much restrictions are imposed on a Muslim girl by the Indian Muslim community. It is much safer than any Islamic country for a Muslim. Nowadays you hear a lot of violence going on in Islamic countries on Muslims. These incidents are very very frequent. Is Nepal the only Hindu country in the world?
