Why Is Dirk Nowitzki Your Favorite Player

What is your favorite Dirk Nowitzki moment?

Never been a true fan. Was an east coast New Jersey Net fan during his prime. Even though he won a championship in that lockout shortened season, my most memorable moment of him rather than favourite is him and his No. 1 seed Dallas Mavericks being beaten by the pesky 8 seed Golden State Warriors coached by ex Dallas coach Don Nelson in the first round of the playoffs, after being named regular season MVP no less. What I remember most is that wily Don Nelson totally outsmarting his old team’s personnel and using Dirk’s “high point of gravity” as his weakness as players like Al Harrington and Stephen Jackson totally bullied Dirk defensively. Many people love today’s GSW dynasty, but that GS team is in my memory a cult hero, as they were perennial laughing stocks, and their all black starting five shocked the basketball world that offseason before being beaten by Utah in the next round.

What is your favorite NBA team and player ?

favorite team: chicago bulls
favorite player: chauncey billups(the way he controls a game without having to take a bunch of shots or be the main scorer is beautiful to watch; great team leader)

Who is your favorite basketball player right now?

Mine is Rondo, but interestingly enough, the Celtics aren't my favorite team. In fact, for the 80s, Magic is my favorite player, and I liked the lakers better then. Also, in the 70s i liked pistol pete, 60s havelciek, 50s cousey. I know I like a lot of celtics players, but I don't have a favorite team

Who is or was your favorite Dallas Mavericks Player and why?

The player that I am fond of watching for the Dallas Mavericks would have to be Dennis Smith Jr.His athleticism is superb and can create his own shots. I see some resemblance to Russell Westbrook in him and can certainly be the face of the Mavericks in the near future.Getting teamed up this coming season in the backcourt with European sensation Luka Doncic and DeAndre Jordan upfront would be very exciting for the fans of the Mavs.

Who are your top 10 favorite NBA players, active or not?

Michael Jordan - watching MJ made me a basketball fan. Even on a small TV I could see his unmatched will to win and how he dominated every challenge. GOAT.Stephen Curry - being a Warriors fan before they were great, it was a pleasure to watch how the franchise was turned around with Steph in the center of it all. I remember when Monta Ellis was traded and fans were hella mad, I actually thought it was a great decision that will allow Steph to take over, which he did. Super fun to watch.Shaquille O’neal - beast on the court, funny outside the courtDirk Nowitzki - being from Europe, I was always impressed with Dirk as a trailblazer. Winning the chip over favored Heat puts him imo as the 3rd greatest PF. And everyone knows Dirk’s fade away jumper!Derrick Rose - he was special in his MVP season…Magic Johnson - showtime Lakers, Dream Team and his signature smile. Pure magic.Draymond Green - kind of guy you hate on the opposing team and love on your team…Rajon Rondo - Playoff Rondo was insane, my most memorable moment was when he played with a fractured elbow (?) vs Heat. Super intense player.Lebron James - been his huge fan until The Decision. The best player I have seen live, MJ of the generation.Charles Barkley - funny guy on the Dream Team, great rivalry with MJ in the ’93 finals

Who is your favorite basketball player?

LeBron James. As soon as he came out of high school he instantly turned that team around. He will never be Michael Jordan but I believe he is the closest we will see for a long time.

Is Dirk Nowitzki the best internationally born player to ever play in the NBA?

Yes, or probably one of the top two!I will rank Dirk Nowitzki as the top foreign player to ever play in the NBA together with Steve Nash. I think they are the Best Foreign NBA Players Of All Time. Both players played together for the Dallas Mavericks between the years 1998 to 2004. They both had a great bond and were good friends.Nowitzki Won the championship ring in 2011 and reached the finals in 2006. Chosen 11 times to the Five top players of the season, and the first European that won the MVP of the regular season. He was chosen as the MVP of the season in 2007 and the Finals MVP in 2011.Steve Nash never won the championship ring but was chosen two times in a row to the MVP of the season. He is, without a doubt the best Canadian player to ever play the game.

What are the strengths of Dirk Nowitzki as a basketball player?

Ah one of the greatest if not the greatest European player in the NBAStrengths;Range - 7′ shooter money from mid range to 3s, his one legged fade away jumper was unguardable in his primeLow post - it wasn’t until latter part of his prime when he added low post moves to his arsenal, he will never be a traditional low post player but he developed great foot work to compliment his jump shooting gameUnorthodox foot work - As a defender you know what’s coming but you can’t do much about it. Put a center on him and will shoot 3s, put a PF he will back them down for that patented one legged fadeaway jumper.Running the floor - Nowadays you see 7 footers running the floor like guards, Dirk sort of set the precedence of mobile 7 footersPassing - Don’t mistake him for Nash but Dirk over the years learn when to pass out from a double team, some big man never learn that for their entire career… *cough* Dwightttttt *cough*Leadership - Dude lead by example in his entire career, more than delivered under pressure and it’s a shame Cuban never able to sign more talented players to give Dirk another couple of championship runConsistency - Dirk was a 20 pt scorer in 13 of his 20 season, and still effective this season at 39 years old. For a 7 footer shooting 88% from the FT line is remarkable, that mean he was never a liability on the FT line or in crunch time.

Dirk Nowitzki Now 4th In The NBA's All-Time Games Played List And His 900th Win As A Dallas Maverick This 2018?

That's Very Nice for Dirk.

Dirk Nowitzki is The Greatest Dallas Mavericks Player in Team History. He did win The Regular Season MVP and also Greatest Moment and Run in 2011. Nobody could Stop him at all. He really wants The Championship more than Everyone Else.

Who is your favorite foreign-born NBA player?

Kyrie IrvingKyrie Irving was born in Melbourne, Australia to American parents. He relocated to America when he was 2 and started playing basketball. He spent a lot of time in Boston, but mostly grew up in West Orange, New Jersey and spent a lot of time watching his father’s professional games. In college, he committed to Duke University in October 2009, where he played basketball under the coaching of Mike Krzyzewski. He put up pretty good numbers which landed him at the #1 spot in the 2011 draft to be picked by the Cleveland Cavaliers, and to be traded to the Boston Celtics in 2017.Why I love himKyrie Irving is a very good scorer and ball handler. (If you don't believe me watch this. Kyrie Irving's ankle-breaking moves on Knight!) But aside from that, he is also a great team player and can get the attention of the locker room. He is well-respected across the league. (Except Brandon Knight lol).Accomplishments and awards.NBA champion (2016)5 time NBA all-starRookie of the year (2012)All NBA third team (2015)3pt shootout champion (2013)Rising Stars Challenge MVP (2012)All-Star game MVP (2014)And that’s not all!He is an amazing player whether you like him or not. He helps his team and his fans in every way he can. He is all-around incredible.Bonus: this shot though!Credit to NBA
