Why Is It That You Can Like Your Own Answer

Do you ever upvote your own answer?

In Quora you can’t upvote , BUT you can write in that way where you don’t require your upvote. As Sir Gopalkrishna Vishwanath gave the answer of this question like thiscan you lift yourself when you are standing in bucket ?YESOnly you need a system to pull yourself.“Don't beg for platforms, build your platform.” ― Bernard Kelvin CliveImage source1st image : Quora2nd image: Chegg.com

Why can't I upvote my own answers?

No you cannot. Unlike Facebook where you can like your own status you cannot upvote your own answer here on Quora. The gist is that you may like what might be happening to you at a particular moment (your status at that moment) but upvotes convey that more people should read a given content (like if I upvote an answer, I do so because I actually believe that more people should read it). When you write an answer you obviously intend that more people read it, so there is no point upvoting ones own answers.

Do you ever report your own answer?

Without saying what it was about (don't ask) I have reported a question I asked that I wanted removed and also an answer. I had to confess I was wrong and went too far. In answer to your question yes you can report your own answer and question. If it is a case of you think if you don't report it someone else will then it might look better on you if you turned yourself in, so to speak.Brings up a question. If your answer is such you want to report it why wouldn't you just go in and delete it? Noble you want to police yourself but if you were to delete it I guarantee I won't throw any stones at you.

Why doesn’t Quora let you upvote your own answers?

I think you are asking this question cause you believe if people see one guy upvoted the answer, they would think ok I can upvote it as well. So, it would get things started. Wrong. It won’t.You will upvote, people will see one upvote and they would be like scroll down. The people whose upvotes you are trying to get are sheeps or herd mentality people. They would only upvote if it has like 50+. One upvote won’t let you get any upvote from them unless the one upvote is from some famous Quoran. So, one upvote won’t get you started. But what you can do is read answers which attracts lot of upvotes, study them. Find common elements, then incorporate those elements in your answers whilst also framing your answers so, that the elements you incorporated don’t look out of place.

How do you delete your own answer to a question?

Q: Is there a way to delete answers on your questions? No. Those answers don’t belong to you, they belong to the people who wrote them, and you have no authorial power over them. Just like you own all your own answers, and nobody can delete them either. Be glad of it; that is a very good thing. In fact, it’s best to think of ”your” question not as yours, but as a question that instead belongs to the community. Once somebody has replied, you can no longer delete it either, and the community can edit it to correct grammar, spelling, and to make it clearer. It’s just a prompt for answers, and it’s not necessarily meant to be personal (though I realize it often is, but Quora wants it to be there to be found by anyone who has a similar question).Quora Moderation can collapse or even delete answers of they violate policy. You can report answers for that; click on the 3 grey dots at the bottom right. But make sure you understand the policies that apply first; don’t report answers just because you don’t agree with them.New to Quora? Why do you not earn points for answering your own questions?

that would make your points total unfair to everyone else
