Why Is It Under Obama We Have The Lowest Labor Participation Rate Since 1978

Why is the US labor force participation rate dropping?

The labor force participation rate is the combination of people working and people looking for work. From CNSNEWS, “A record 94,708,000 Americans were not in the labor force in May -- 664,000 more than in April -- and the labor force participation rate dropped two-tenths of a point to 62.6 percent, near its 38-year low, the Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics reported recently.”So you have three questions to answer. 1. Why are fewer people working? 2. Are those not working not interested in working? 3. Are there people who have decided that they can’t find work because of economic conditions but will look for work later ?Question 2 is easiest to answer. There are people who are uninterested in working because they decided to raise children, are going to school, retired, or are too young to work.Questions 1 and 3 are related. Because there are fewer people working, many people decide that work is too scarce to bother to look for. If you want to know why fewer people are working or many are discouraged from seeking work, I believe that you have to look at the multitude of laws and regulations that hinder or keep people from working. Everything from minimum-wage laws to EPA clean air rules are forcing people out of work.

How would you rate Obama's economy?

Here’s the current president’s report card:The media doesn’t understand the BLS jobs numbers, and the politicians spin them shamelessly. It takes 150,000 jobs monthly to keep up with the growth in employment age people. All these “wonderful” jobs being created by the Obama administration aren’t so wonderful. In the last twelve months there have been about 700,000 low paying jobs created in the leisure, hospitality, and retail fields (think waiter) vs 33,000 well paying jobs in information and utilities. Thirty years ago (when our population was 100,000,000 less) the monthly jobs number ran about 500,000 per month.Ninety-four million working age people are not working. (The labor participation rate is at mid-1970’s lows.)In one family in five no one is working.Obama is going to be the first president to never have at least one year of GDP growth of 3%. (Last six months was 1%.)Wages are stagnant.Of all minimum wage workers 23% are college grads—an all time high.About one third of people between the ages of 18 and 34 are living with their parents.Home ownership is at a fifty-one year low.The federal debt has more than doubled — rising 116 percent — and big annual deficits have continued. The number of long-term unemployed Americans is 761,000 higher than at the start of the Great Recession in 2008.The food stamp rolls have increased by 13 million people.Median family income is down 7%.The cost of health care has gone up 25% for the middle-class.The value of farmland is down for the first time in thirty years. Farm income is down 34% from the peak and 14% Yoy.Sounds like a disaster to me, but look on the positive side. If EVERYONE stops looking for work in the next eleven weeks, Hillary will inherit an economy with a record ZERO unemployment rate.Read:Living In A Van Down By The River - Time To Face The True State Of The Middle Class In AmericaThe Invisible AmericanWhat If We're In A Depression But Don't Know It?

How has Barack Obama made a difference in our world?

Obama does not make the top 25% or even top 50% of all Presidents in US history. On foreign policy: his results have been pathetic at best. The Middle East is a total shambles under his non leadership; Isis has grown nearly unchecked; and our relationship with any adversarial state has worsened. The Obama foreign policy doctrine: Oh, I'm so sorry for anything the USA did anytime in history and this country is no better than any other country. The economy under Obama was pathetic and anemic. We had the lowest home ownership rate since 1940. The labor participation rate at 62% of eligible workers is horrendous. Race relationships in his 8 years has been set back two decades. The Democratic Party during Obama's tenure was left in shambles. In the 8 years of Obama, 1041 positions held by the Democrats are now held by Republicans. When Obama came into office there were 28 Democratic Governors there are now 16; now 64% Republican. The number of representatives in the house is the lowest since 1932. For the second time since 1928, the Republican party holds the House, Senate, and the Presidency. In his 8 years in the White House, he was mostly liked by most people; including those whose disagreed with his policies. Another fact: while he was liked, an outstanding 72% of the citizens felt the country was heading in the wrong direction; 72% under his watch! Now look at the recent Revelations from Donna Brazile and the Democratic National Committee. Obama left the DNC in a financially abandoned position which allowed for the Takeover by hillary. Obama was the steward of the DNC and he abandoned them like a redheaded stepchild. One aspect he did very well. For a short time, he was a college instructor in Constitutional law. While in office, the US Supreme Court overturned actions of his 16 times UNANIMOUSLY. He presumably knew the Constitution yet he did not allow any knowledge to be an obstacle to what he wanted.Where has Obama done well? There is one day that stands above the rest. The day: the morning of January 20, 2016. Yes, the morning this failed President became the ex-president.

Why so much hate for Socialism?

Why is the idea of having a Socialist government bad? They have it in other countries in the world and they have it pretty sweet. Most people who are against it are getting it confused with Communism. Also i've seen the only excuse is because it's "not American". Well it's pretty sad that what is "American" is being poor, giving the most power and money to the wicked and voting in the most crooked politicians in history. If that's American then call me un-American.
