Why Is My Dad So Judgement And Not Laid Back

My dad is being so judgemental!!!?

If you run away or whatever, you could get hurt. Don't do that. Please.

I understand your frustration. I've been there. My grandparents are judgmental people. How your parents think, DOES NOT have to be how you think.

As for your make-up, you aren't going to like to hear this, but: Your make up doesn't make you beautiful. You are already beautiful. Really. No joke. I totally get that you love the way you look W/ eye liner, opposed to not having it on. I don't know your dad, but personally what i would do w/ my parents is, i would sit them down, apologize for being disrespectful, and ask for my stuff back...

Now, i don't mean apologize for disagreeing w/ his views. It's totally okay to disagree. I would even tell him that you disagree. Just try to be as respectful as possible b/c he's your dad. I know that's hard to do. Me and my mom are so different, and she gets on my nerves so badly... the best thing i can do is appreciate her for giving me life and taking care of me, and leave it at that.

Where does the soul of the dead go until Judgement Day?

Temporary holding places:What is paradise? Is it different than Heaven? There has always been a separation of believers and unbelievers after death (Luke 16:19-31). The righteous have always gone to paradise; the wicked have always gone to hell. For right now, both paradise and hell are “temporary holding places” until the day when Jesus Christ comes back to judge the world based on whether or not individuals have believed in Him. The first resurrection is of believers who will stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ to receive rewards based on meritorious service to Him. The second resurrection will be that of unbelievers who will stand before the Great White Throne Judgment of God. At that point, all will be sent to their eternal destination—the wicked to the lake of fire (Revelation 20:11-15), and the righteous to a new heaven and a new earth (Revelation 21—22).Dave

Why do mormons tend to be so judgmental?

Haha, I really love most of the answers on here. I agree with a lot of these guys, I too was once a mormon. My father moved us to Utah from Iowa and forced me to be baptized at eight years old. I disagreed with it every day after that. My theory is that mormons hate anyone who does not fit perfectly into their little cookie-cutter view of how a person should be. If you have questions, or feel just a little different, you're an outcast. I was kicked out of their church at the age of twelve, for questioning why my teacher was telling me not to drink while standing in front of a picture of the last supper, a glass of wine in his hand. I felt betrayed, by the people, by the church, but mostly by God. I stopped believing in him that day.
My advice to you is try some other things. Do some research and check out some churches. I'm not trying to convert you to anything or pull you away from the church, I'm only saying that there is so much more out there to be explored. Christianity is a vast ocean of beliefs and people and you may find that you fit in better at another church. My belief is that God does not discriminate. He doesn't care where you worship, as long as you do. I also believe that the right church is wherever you, as an individual, feel His touch the strongest, because that is what religion is truly about. For me it was the Catholic Church that brought me back to God after eight years. For you it could be anything. Just don't stay because you feel you have to, don't risk losing your faith for acceptance.

What's the biggest error of judgement you ever made?

Maddy, your last question laid my soul bare, now you want to know the worst error of judgemet? lol

Of course relationships are going to be listed as the number one error of judgement as they have such far reaching effect on lives. However, there are other areas which can horrifically impact lives too. Such as driving while intoxicated. That would be a huge error of judgement which has the potential of horrific consequences on many lives.

How many people here are really going to put down on a public forum such private and personal information? Not any, I would imagine. I heard on the news a new website which enourages people to "confess" their sins. More go to read than to post. Once we put something on an Online forum it is there forever.

Well, without going into all the reasons, my worst error of judgement was staying in a relationship which I knew was bad. I did it for reasons I thought were solid at the time, but isn't that how we learn what an error of judgement is, after the fact? Hindsight is twenty twenty so they say, and I do have to agree.

As relationships do have such far reaching consequences I hope people will really think about what they are getting into before they jump. Take the time to really get to know the person. At a minimum it takes a year of seeing somebody on a regular basis, daily if possible and in all different types of situations to really know what they are like, how they respond, and behave, think and act.

I tell my children to watch how a romantic partner treats their opposite sex parent and siblings, and animals. If the young man treats his mother and sister with love and respect he most likely will so treat a wife. If a person is cruel to animals, then he will be cruel to people and children. So far it has helped them out tremendously when considering who to allow close to them.

The errors of judgement we make in life are worth it if we learn from them and teach others what we learn too. I really regret nothing in my life as everything which has occurred helped form who I am today. Who I am today is somebody I am proud to be.

So, what is your worst error of judgement, Maddy? lol

I wish you well, and a great day!

My dad lied to the police to have me arrested. I'm inocent! what should i do?

if your back is broken, about all you can do is lay there. you are totally paralyzed, right? that what would happen if your back is broken. smoking pot before school is what started all this. breaking the van door is what got you charged the first time. threatening to kill him is why you got pushed away. running from the police is what got you 18 months probation. .

think about it. how much of your current problems are because of your own actions? nothing is gonna get you off probation but your own actions.

Judging distance when driving,changing lanes?

Use your mirrors and you should invest in a spot mirror for the outside ones...

Here is one example but you can get these at any auto parts store..

Why is it difficult for me to give someone a compliment and why do I feel uncomfortable?

I like this question. In our culture it accepted to give a compliment, which is a positive judgement, but not a cticism, which is a negative judgement. They are both judgements and indicate that the one making the judgement is some sort of authority on the subject.Eg. If I call you beautiful, it indicates that I know what beauty is, so I am an authority on beauty, and I decree that you fulfill the criteria of what it takes to be ‘beautiful’.That makes me out to be pretty full of myself , doesn’t it?Maybe you don’t feel comfortable with setting yourself up as an authority on any subject. In which case I suggest doing it differently.Use the following 4 step process. You will make a compliment that is much more meaningful, AND you will feel comfortable because you are not making a judgement. You will be seaking entirely from your own experience, and expressing vulnerability and emotional intelligence.O - Observation. What did you see or hear that you liked/enjoyed? eg “when I see the light reflecting in your eyes so that they appear to sparkle with tiny stars”F - Feeling. Say how you feel in this moment. eg “I feel light as a feather. I feel as if I’m flaoting on air. I feel lost in the ocean of your eyes. I feel a warm tingly sensation spreading out from my heart all over my body”N - Need. Say what universal need is being met in you right now as you are feeling the feeling stated in #2. eg “I feel this way because my need for safety and trust and closeness/intimacy is completely met.” Or to say this more colloquially, we might say “I feel totally safe and able to be myself because I completely trust you.”R - Request. Do you have any request to make after saying this? Maybe you are wondering how it went down with the person you said it to? In which case, ask. eg “Would you be willing to tell me how it was for you to hear what I just said?” or “I’m not sure if I’m being clear - how is that for you to hear?”

So my dad yelled at my boyfriend?

My boyfriend and I were sitting in my room, with the door wide open. We were fully clothed laying on my bed not even near each other. We were just watching t.v under a huge blanket. But we weren't doing anything..my dad walks to go downstairs and starts yelling at my mom, so I walk downstairs and he starts saying, 'what do you think your doing?!' & stuff like that. So my boyfriend decides to come downstairs and my dad screams, 'what the f*** do you think your doing with my daughter under a cover? Get the f*** out my house!!' I was so mortified..

My mom says she'll talk to my dad tonight because she believes he overreacted. I still don't know what to do, and I'm so embarrassed. D:
