Why Is My Grageband Doing This Help.

Why are my GarageBand songs so quiet?

Never mind,I actually figured it out after some Google detective work. The answer is so ridiculously simple and so ridiculously stupid! In GarageBand>preferences there's a box automatically checked “on” that says “export at maximum loudness”. Check this box “off” and it will then export the song at a much louder(normal)volume! It's like ‘opposite world’. Anyway….i then had to lower the ‘master track’volumes of each song to avoid excess distortion but now I'm good to go!

Why did my garage band recordings turn grey and I cant hear them?

either you've muted them or you've soloed something else.

look on the track header on the left hand side of the grey ones, there is a little icon that looks a bit like a loudspeaker, if this is blue then you have muted that track.

look on any tracks you can hear, on their track header, look for an icon that looks like headphones, if that icon is yellow, then they are soloed.

whichever is the circumstance, make sure those headphone and loudspeaker icons are grey rather than blue/yellow by clicking on them. now you should be able to hear all you want.

this is just a toggle so you can listen to the tracks you want to work on and get rid of tracks that you don't need to hear until later.

GarageBand: suddenly stopped recording! Help!?

Hi. I am running GarageBand 2 on my iBook G4. I was just in the middle of recording guitar for a song when I noticed GarageBand wasn't recording anymore and I couldn't hear myself play. All of my equipment was hooked up properly and all volumes were up. So I saved and quit GarageBand, reopened it and tried to record again. When it began to open my song file, a window popped up that said "Recording#68.aif not found". Now I find that I can't record anything on any of my other songs either! It looks like its recording but won't playback any sound and I can't hear anything in the monitor. I even reninstalled GarageBand and its still doing the same thing.

Help me please, I would really appreciate it.

How can i do a stuttering effect on my voice in garageband?

I don't know how to do it in garage band specifically, but the effect is called 'beat repeating' I believe. The long way around would be slice the start and end point of the beat and then just copy and paste a bunch of times.

Also, I know that the effect is in Ableton Live known as beat repeat. Don't know if garage band works with "rewire" but if so, I'd go that route. Or just use live because it's a much better program.

Here's a link to Ableton Live 6 (they are on 8, but those versions expire after 14 days):
