I had the same EXACT problem. I uploaded the picture I wanted, then went to edit profile, changed something little on my about me, hit submit. And then my profile picture was up to the one i wanted. try that, it helped for me.

Okay so today I went to change my instagram profile photo and when I selected the new one, instead of showing up it just made my profile picture blank. I can't even get my old one back now. I have tried multiple pictures, restarted the app, restarted my phone, even tried it on another account and it doesn't work there either. I tried logging in on my sister's phone and trying there but it still didn't work. And the connection is working fine too and it works to post regular pictures too, just not to change my profile picture. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening or what I can do to fix it? Is it happening to anyone else?

I've tried to change my Instagram profile picture a few times today, but it's not showing. I've also tried re-downloading it several times. Do I have to wait a certain time for it to change? I ran into the same glitch last night. Here is the solution. 1) Click on profile pic, or where it is suppose to be (upper left corner.) 2) Click on choose from library, or whatever source you want your pic from. 3) Click the pic you want for the profile 4) Pic area will still be blank. Click on edit your profile 5) Click submit That should do it. Your pic should now be there. Let me know it that helped.
