Why Is My One Year Old Baby Having Fever

My 1 year old have a fever of 100.7?

Don't be too alarmed. He's not going to have a "fit" as the other answer suggested. Babies get higher fevers than adults do. 100.7 is considered a mild to moderate fever. If your other child had the virus, then it's very likely that the baby has it too. You can use pedialyte or any electrolyte solution to keep the baby from getting dehydrated. Try putting some in a medicine dropper and giving it every 20 minutes when he's awake. Infant tylenol will help with the fever and any pain he's in. Call your doctor for the correct dosage. Usually if the baby is weaned, you should stay away from milk for a day or two. If he's breastfed, you can usually continue as normal. Dry snacks and bananas can help with diarrhea if that happens. If he still has a fever on Tylenol or it lasts more than a day or two I'd take him to the doctor.

Why do I, a 16-year-old male, have a baby fever (the urge or emotional desire to have a baby)?

Here’s my take: about 17 million years of evolution formed you into a creature that in the wild would probably have only a 10% chance of living to 25, so purely biologically, it makes sense to have offspring younger. But, having a kid now will destroy your life, and probably the child’s life. Don’t do it!!!So, we’re a creature that has to endure a period of having the mind and skills of a kid, but the body of an adult. That’s a leftover from when humans were literally wild. To keep the species from going extinct, it worked okay back then, but things now are a bit different, wouldn’t you say? Now, we routinely live past 80, often past 100, we have complex societies with rules and laws and taxes and jails, and so nowadays, at 16, you’re (hate to say it) pretty much still a kid. Before you can raise a kid, what you need is money. Lots and lots of money. To get that, you need skill. So, you need school. Having to take care of a baby with no money, no skills, and no prospects, like I said that will destroy your life. I say just enjoy being a free kid while it lasts. One day you’ll probably be looking in the mirror and thinking, wow, when did I get so old? Now would be a good time to rewind my life with this pen (you will not get the reference ;) only to find that there is no rewinding. So get yourself off to a good start in life. No babies. And, if these feelings are really getting to you, see about maybe talking to a pro therapist. That applies to any feelings which are just so intense you can’t take it.

One Year Old with High Fever?

I just went through this. My son who is one had a very high fever as well 104.9 one night. It is a fever virus that is going around. he has also had loose stool. If you son is very lethargic then I suggest taking him to the hospital but if he is walking around and kinda acting normal other then being sleepy and decreased appetite then I suggest getting a warm bath not too warm but not too cold and put him in it for about 20 min. Also put a washcloth with the tub water on it and put it on his head. He will most likely cry because it will feel a little cold to him. At least my son did. After I did that and the motrin his temp came down two degrees. It is very scarey I know I stayed up almost all night to monitor his fever. It went away in 48 hours but they were the longest 48 hours ever especially at night that is when it was the highest. I do suggest calling you doctor to see what they say to do since they know your child.

My doctor told me to do motrin and then 2 hours later do tylenol and then 2 hours later do motrin. I did do this especially at night. Push the fluids make sure he is drinking alot.

I hope he feels better soon.

My one year old has a fever of 39.2...what are some good fever lowering techniques.?

(Cool but not cold) wet washcloth, if you can get cool (not cold) liquids inside your little one that helps immensely as well as preventing dehydration. Infant formulations of acetominophen and ibuprofen should be fine to use as well, they work best in conjunction with the other methods. I agree that if the temperature hits 40 you need to go in, but if you can bring the fever down at home it's probably not necessary, notify your doctor in case but a trip directly to the hospital can actually be worse since after hours or on weekends often means you will be sitting in a waiting room without access to anything for several hours, as well as the expense of an ER visit.

Diarrhea and Fever in my one year old???

My poor baby has mild diarrhea (2-3 loose stools per day) and a slight fever (99.0-100.0). She seems relatively happy and playful while awake. She has been sleeping more than normal (she took a 4 hour nap this morning instead of the normal 2 hours). She is eating a little less than normal, but is still interested in eating. Doc thinks it's a "bug". I'm just looking for advice on 1.) what are the best foods and fluids to feed her? 2.) if it is just a "bug" how long will the symptoms last? and 3.) how do i know if it is something more than a "bug"? If you can't tell already...I'm a first time mom and this is our first bit with diarrhea! Thanks for your help!

A one year old infant was lethargic and had a fever.?

The infant has bacterial meningitis; "gram negative coccobacilli" describes Haemophilus influenzae, so that's probably the cause. The infant is probably unvaccinated, since the HiB vaccine has made H. flu meningitis extremely rare nowadays. Treatment is normally with IV ceftriaxone (unless the patient is allergic).

My 1 year old baby cousin named jacy has a fever of 101.9 should we be concerned or just let her sleep it off?

A 102 fever is NOTHING for a one year old.
You can give her some infant tylenol or infant motrin to try to reduce the fever if she seems uncomfortable. But unless there are symptoms of a bacterial infection causing this fever, the most likely culprit is a virus, for which the doctors can't do anything but treat symptoms for comfort and try to keep her hydrated if the starts to vomit or have diareha.

Reasons to call the docter with a 102 fever of a 1yo would be:
1. Child is listless and very inactive during what should normally be play time. ( a little extra sleep time is to be expected, but if they are awake trying to play, but seem too disoriented to do so, there is a problem).
2. The fever doesn't respond to tylenol or motrin (taken alone every 4 to 6 hours should reduce the fever by at least a degree, alternating every 2 to 3 hours should reduce the fever by at least two degrees).
3. You find other signs or symptoms of an illness.
4. They are vomitting/diarreha to the point that they are possibly getting dehydrated.
5. If the fever gets above 104, then you should at least get some input from the doctor's office or an after-hours on-call nurse. But even at 104.5, the nurse is likely to just recomend tylenol and motrin if the fever is the only sign of something being wrong.

And please don't listen to these morons telling you to rush your child to the ER. They are crowded enough as it is, and there is not need to waist both the time and money on an issue that a doctor can't do anything about anyway.

Case in point, sure for an adult a fever of 102-104 is dabilatating. But children are different. There "take her to the ER NOW!" idiots don't know what they are talking about.

Check out this web site. It tells you that a fever isn't a bad thing (it just makes you uncomfortable) unless it gets to 107 (and that will only occur from something like heat stroke). It also confirms that there is nothing to worry a fever alone. It's other symptoms that would indicate something other than a simple virus young kids tend to catch because their immune system is not as mature as adults. (i.e. the fever is likely from a virus and you likely will not catch it from her... unless it turns out to be a stomic virus... then you are not going to have a good weekend).

My 1 year baby is suffering with fever from morning but the temperature is fluctuating. What can be the reason for this fever? Any solution for it?

upto the age of 5 the health of a child may fluctuate all of a sudden. So you should Not take the risk.Get proper dx done.So far as I know the fever upto 101-102 is not much to be concerned about for upto 2-3 days.No medicine should be given. But in view of age of child u may take consult a doctor.
