Why Is My Pc Suddenly Not Recognizing Or Seeing Headphones/mics

AVF headphone's mic stopped working suddenly?

when you say it doesnt detect sound do you mean that it doesnt see any audio devive installed? does your regular sound work when playing songs? if the sound doesnt work and it doesnt detect an audio device that means something went wrong with the audio card. when you start your computer hit f10 to get into system BIOS and then hit the button to set everything to default settings. if this does not fix it then try reformating your computer and if this does not fix it and you still dont have sound then you need to replace the audio card. and if its an integrated(which most laptops are) you cant replace it but you can buy an external usb plugin audio card or a SD slot audio card and this will fix it. otherwise get a new laptop

My phone doesn't recognize earphones when I plug them in. Absolutely no response. What should I do?

Is it an Android phone ? or Apple ?If it is Android, when you adjust the phone volume, there will be a symbol at the right that looks like either a gear wheel or an arrow pointing down. If you tap this, it will display 4 separate volume controls. The Media volume has to be higher than zero, for any sound to come out for music, or game audio. This volume is separate to the volume level used for ringtones and speaking/hearing on a call.If the volume level is correct:Try the headphones on another device, to check that they work properly, or try another pair of cheap earphones in the connector. Sometimes the earphones connector seems like it is pushed all the way in, but is not completely in. They often make a click noise when they are pushed in completely. Also, check the rating of the earphones, are they standard earphones ? or fancy ones ?Sometimes the Ohm rating is too high, so the device can’t drive the earphones unless the volume is higher than normal, or an amp is used.If the headphones work on another device, and a second pair of headphones doesn’t work with the phone either, then it sounds like the connector has a wiring fault.

Why isn't my mobile detecting headphones?

If it is not detected, maybe there is a little dirt in the Jack. Be careful when getting out, you might damage some of those tiny contacts and that wouldn't be good either. If there is no dirt, put your headphones in and restart your phone, that might do the trick. The last measure you can take is download a sound router app (Sound About, Audio router). These will force out the audio through the Jack. If this doesn't work and you tried several apps and also different headphones, you probably need to get a new a Jack.

Even If I remove the headphone from my phone (Redmi note 3) it is showing headphone icon on the top and the speakers are not working. What should I do?

The headphone jack on my iPhone 6 is not working properly: how can I fix it?

iphone 6 headphone jack IssuesPeople using third-party headphones, especially if they have a microphone, experience frequent cut-outs. The metal at the top of the plug is touching the iPhone body. The iPhone 6 headphone jack problem - IT Central PointSome people try by using tape, plastic, or something wrapped around the top of the headphone jack. But make sure not to use something that could get stuck in the port.If the problem persists there’s a chance it’s a hardware fault. Go to Apple and have them take a look. If they can’t resolve the issue there is a good chance you should be able to get a replacement handset or even female plug. The Iphone 7 may not have a jack at allDitch the headphone port?

Why does my earphones work on others' phones, but not on mine?

The obvious way to tell is to try another set of known-good earphones on your phone. If they don’t work either, the problem is in your phone (possibly the jack, or somewhere else in the audio chain). If you have the odd situation where only the one combination of earphones and device is failing, and other combinations work OK, it’s possible there is a subtle mismatch in dimensions between the components. If you are using a case make sure that it is not interfering with the ability to fully insert the headphone plug.

Computer Freezes when Bluetooth and Microphones are Connected?

It sounds to me like you have bad drivers or windows is having a hard time using its resources to find a proper driver. The first thing I would do is make sure your sound device drivers are up to date.
If that doesn't work try closing everything first to make sure you have CPU space and try again. Did your microphone come with a driver CD? How long have you waited after plugging it in? Many devices now install the drivers automatically when they are plugged in so it may take a few moments before recognizing the device.
If none of the above works.. Tell us more about your system, is it old? What OS? What kind of Microphone are you trying to use?
Good luck!

@Rachael A virus is possible yes, but it would have been slow more than just when using the Plug and play device and I dont think he would have been surprised in that case. Computers will get slow overtime no matter what. A random freeze is much different than a bunch of random freezes. Naw I still lean towards the device drivers mainly because the freeze is occurring while connecting and therefore it will have to do with either recognizing the device or knowing which drivers to use to know how to operate the device.

What should I do if my MacBook headphone jack isn't working?

I've had this happen to me a couple times.First, try unplugging your headphones out and back in. Yes, sounds silly but sometimes it's that easy. (Happens sometimes if you can't seem to raise volume with keys on keyboard. If no luck...Try holding down the option key and click on the sound icon on the very top nav of your macbook. Doing this will reveal additional options(you can actually try this on most of the icons up there, like wifi). Check the "output device" and make sure it's not trying to send the audio elsewhere (such as apple tv). You should ideally see an option that says "headphones" on that list. Click it.If no luck..If you do not see headphones on the list described above, try a simple restart.  That tends to get everything back to normal.
