Why Is My Right Hand So Dry And Red

Why are the tops of my hands red and dry?

Your hands are chapped from the cold, dry weather. I can almost guarantee that is what it is. If it's itchy, red, dry, not bumpy, not oozing, not spreading all over your body (just limited to your hands), and you have no other symptoms, that's almost definitely what it is.

Apply a heavy, deep moisturizing lotion to your hands several times a day. Every time you think about it, put more lotion on your hands, apply it generously and rub it in well. Do this every day and within a week or so you should start seeing some improvement, and within 2 weeks your skin should return back to normal.

Good luck!

I have a strange red mark on my right hand side from using the computer mouse too much. How can I get rid of it?

Avoid using the afflicted area, it needs to rest and heal.  Any fat, moisturizing lotion is likely to help alleviate any discomfort and possibly allow the skin to heal quicker, but it won't make the problem magically disappear.Where is the red mark?  The right-hand side of what?  Try using the keyboard more if it's the mouse that's causing problems.

Itchy red spot on hand?

It is ringworm. you have to see a doctor immediately because that is highly contagious and if you had it for a while tell everyone you know that you got ringworm so the could check themselves out and see if they got it. if you touched it then you have to clean everything you have because it is a fungus and it could live on anything. so if you touched the ringworm and you touch the book anyone who touches the book could get ringworm. if you are still in school tell your classroom so they could clean it down
look it up on Google images and that is how it looks like
hope i helped:)

I am 17. My right hand fingers are cracked and dry. Is there anything I can do to make them better?

I am not a Dermatologist. Yet I treat an indigent group of people who cannot afford to see a dermatologist. My experience has been that most dry skin complaints are associated with Eczema. When I looked for pictures of eczema to compare with my patients. The literature said it could present in a thousand different ways. Essentially it was described as “The itch that rashes.”Eczema: Causes, Symptoms and TreatmentsWritten by James McIntoshReviewed by Dr Helen WebberleyLast updated: Thu 19 Nov 2015Eczema is "a general term for any superficial inflammatory process involving the epidermis primarily, marked early by redness, itching, minute papules and vesicles, weeping, oozing and crusting, and later by scaling, lichenification and often pigmentation."The word eczema comes from the Greek word ekzein meaning "to boil out"; the Greek word ek means "out," while the Greek word zema means "boiling."Fast facts on eczemaHere are some key points about eczema. More detail and supporting information is in the main article.Eczema affects an estimated 9-30% of the US population.People living in dry climates and cities appear to be more likely to develop eczema.Eczema occurs equally in both males and females.Eczema is likely related to conditions that adversely affect the skin's barrier function (including genetic factors, nutrient deficiencies, bacterial infection, and dry, irritated skin).Stress and other emotional factors do not cause atopic dermatitis, but they can make the condition worse.Certain foods such as nuts and dairy can trigger the symptoms.Eczema can also be triggered by environmental factors such as smoke and pollen.Atopic dermatitis has strong connections with other atopic diseases, such as asthma and hay fever.Children with ADHD, or who attend day care have a higher risk of atopic dermatitis.Treatment focuses on healing damaged skin and alleviating the symptoms. There is no single test that can be used to diagnose eczema. For some eczema will disappear completely, but for others it remains a lifelong condition. The only treatment that seems to work is an old ointment that has been around for years, but requires a prescription. Triamcinalone acetate usually at 0.1% apply to the affected area by rubbing in throughly twice daily.Don't use the cream it is to drying. It is not a cure, but it effectively controls the rash and especially the itching.

I have a red rash on the back of my hands. They are also quite dry. ?

It's probably a beginning of eczema. And the handlotion is probably making it worse. Most handlotions actually dehydrate your skin instead of hydrate them.
Use a good handlotion like the "Intensive handtherapy" fom Sense (website below) and where cotton gloves to protect your hands from drying out more. You can get these at most drugstores.
When you're cleaning wear rubber gloves so you don't make the excema worse.
If you want more information on the hand creme, feel free to email me.

Extremely dry and itchy hands?

I have had this rash on my hands for couple months now and it's really bugging me. Mostly the skin on all the fingers and part of the palm of my right hand and one of the fingers on my left hand is just extremely dry, red, and cracking, but on the areas it is worst there are tiny red bumps. The fingers that are affected are always swollen and often itchy, especially in the morning. I have excema, but not that bad and only during the winter on my legs, so I don't think that's what this is, and I can't think of anything that would be giving me an allergic reaction. I put vaseline on it sometimes, and it can help a little but not much. If anyone knows what it is or anything to make it better that'd be really helpful.

My right hand in between my thumb and pointing finger... it's itchy and my skin there gets very dry like once

It might possible be an allergic reaction, but best to try and consult your doctor to be sure. If you cant, try and keep the area aways from what can cause the flare up. Moisturize and prevent it from contacting any dirt. http://www.skinsosilky.com/skincare/121-exposedskincare.htm has tips to prevent skin dryness, as well as factors that can contribute to dryness, so it might help you.

My hands are always cold and get very dry, rough, and wrinkly in the winter?

Im a 22 year old female, and as soon as it starts to get cold the top of my hands get extremely dry and wrinkly. They even get so bad that the skin on the top of my hands has a big patch of red scabby skin. Right now it's not that bad because it hasnt gotten that cold yet, but past winters i've gotten the red patch of scabby dry skin. My hands are also very cold. I don't spend much time outside in the winter snow, only walk to and from my car. This has happened to my hands every winter for the last 3-4 years. What could be causing this? Could I be vitamin deficient?

Why are my knuckles getting red and dry?

I recently found a new kitten and I started getting red, dry knuckles. I'm not sure what it is, so I'll call it a rash. I've had the kitten for 3 weeks and I got him checked for mange (it was negative). So I don't know if my knuckles are from the cat or if it's just a coincidence and this is happening for other reasons. I can't seem to find much information online. The rash is on both hands, although it's worse on my right hand and it seems to be spreading very slowly.

Any ideas? Should I just go see a doctor or is there some kind of cream I can try?

Thanks for your help.

Why are my hands always dry even after I apply lotion?

Barring an underlying health condition, I’m going to say it’s probably because your lotion is woefully insufficient for your needs, as most mainstream lotions are. Many mainstream lotions, by appearance, are made to have a certain “feel;” to be a pearly white or pale pink color; to have a strong, usually synthetic, scent; and to give the appearance of moisturizing your hands for a short period of time, after which the effect disappears. In some lotions, there are ingredients that are specifically intended to cause dryness and/or skin irritation, thus prompting you to reapply the lotion.
