Why Is My Utorrent Running So Slowly Lately

UTorrent is so slow & it says theres no incoming connections? There's a little orange triangle w/ an ! in it!!

Go to preference, then connection, then enable UPnP port mapping. Ask the person who set up your internet to do the same for your router configuration.

If it use to work fine(you had the green little circle) and this problem just happen to occur out of nowhere, then it might just be your isp trying to throttle your bittorrent connections. If that is the case then there's solution for it.

Best of luck to you.

Utorrent will not download?

hi, i recently downloaded utorrent for some pc games, and it worked great, i installed oblivion, nehrim and the shivering isles succesfully, however now whenever i try to download something from thepiratebay, the availability bar in utorrent turns completely red and the download wont get past 0.0
its not just the one file, its anything i try, and i even tried the torrents that had the most seeders and leechers. also i did one of those tests to see if something was preventing my downloading or something, i forget what its called now... and it had no hits. so can someone provide me with some assistance that isnt just, restart your computer, because believe me i've done that

uTorrent is suddenly not working on my Windows PC. What should I do?

Uninstall the software Best Free Software Uninstall Tool for Your Windows XP/7/8/10 PC using this uninstaller and then reinstall it . In case it doesn’t work just go for some alternative. Also try using Proxy VPN, your service provider maybe blocking those downloads.

Why is the torrent download slow even if the net speed is high?

The Bit-torrent protocol is a P2P protocol, unlike the internet which works on a client server protocol. A torrent file is like a manifest file which contains information about the tracker, who as it's name suggest keeps a track of all active seeds. So, why do active seeds matter? In a P2P protocol, the file which you want to download is distributed amongst many peers and you download these bits directly from these seeds. Ergo, it's not the internet speed that matters in your case but the number of active seeds

Even when using a VPN to download torrents, my ISP still sends me email telling me I violated rights, how is that possible?

After torrent download is finished Its better that you disconnect the computer from Internet because when you have finished downloading and are off VPN the bittorrent program can still transmit packets announcing that your (ISP) IP has the torrent file available for uploading. After disconnecting from Internet, make sure you move away the files so that the torrent application can not access and therefore can not announce availability.

Slow downwload speeds and higher upload speeds with utorrent?

Loads of posibilities here. First ones that could be causing the problem then how to improve your speeds.

1. Your ISP might be restricting your speeds during peak times. To check if this is the case you can use a software called TOR to bypass your ISP's blocking.
2. The tweaks you are doing need to be done correct. To get good download speeds you need good upload speeds. if you are using utorrent go to "options / prefernces/ advanced / net.max_halfopen" Change it to 100.
3. You also need to change your half open ports but I am not sure how to do it with Vista. I know it can be done and is set to default: 10.
4. Tick the box in utorrent which says "randomise port at every start". If your router doesnt like this then change the port to a high number. IE 45432. Then open your router ports for this number.
5. You might also be getting a bad connection. Confirm this by using the test socket on your BT main socket. If this cures it then its your wiring.
6. A good way to speed up your connection is by removing the "bell wire" on the main BT socket. Remove the front and disconnect terminal 3 wire (orange / white).
7. If you really want the best from your connection use a Cat5e cable from your bt socket to your router.
8. Get a Cat6 ethernet cable as short as possible.
9 Also if you really want to push for perfection double up on the BT wiring. IE terminals 2 and 5 are the only 2 wires used in moderm wiring. use cable 1 and link it in parallel with 2. Then do the same with 5 and 6. But thats just nuts.

If you want any more info let me know.

Utorrent 0.1kb DL speed?

I find that most often the case is your internet provider slows down your speeds to make sure that everybody else paying for internet from them still has decent connections. However this could have something to do with NAT firewall settings. In most torrent clients there is a place to change which ports the traffic passes through, you might want to make sure within your computer's firewall, and router settings that you have whichever ports your torrent client is using is open free and clear. BTW the more ports you have open that you don't need the more susceptible you are to viruses and hacking. Use the higher port ranges, you are less likely to get attacked from those.
