I sound like a dying whale?
I'm 13 and lately I've been thinking about what I want to be when I grow up. I came up with that I wanted to be a announcer, but like sometimes I wanted to be a singer. BUT the problem is that I really really really really suck at singing. Trust me. In my opinion, (when I actually sing) I just think I'm average, but my younger brother thinks I'm really bad. I only sing around him, but not my parents... So I guess I'm annoying my brother :S I don't really want to ask my parents for vocal lessons because they'll say things like, "I haven't even seen you sing! And you want lessons?! It's gonna be a hard life for you!!" .......so yeah..
My voice sounds weird?...?
Alright, so I woke up on my monday and my voice sounded a little nasal, but still, wasn't bad. and now today, my voice sounds like a dying cat when I sing! I have a singing performance solo I have to do this Thursday and my singing voice sounds terrible! The weird thing is, my throat doesn't feel scratchy or painful whenever I swallow something, it's just my voice that sounds scratchy. I also have been coughing A LOT and sometimes I won't stop after a minute or so. So far, I've been drinking lots of water, sucking on cough drops, and drinking hot tea, anything else I should do to have my voice good by thursday? Thanks!

Actually it sounded OK. You have a tendency to place the sound in your throat somewhat. This does not allow the sound to spin and causes it to sound swallowed. Work on placing the sound in front and up. It also sounds thin, which is indicative of not using good breath support. Learn how to sing from your diaphragm, and let the sound ride on top of the breath and it will help fix the first problem. But overall, is sounds good, and I encourage you to work and develop your voice.
How do I cut my vocal cords without dying?
I'm 17 and my voice hasn't broken yet. This is a huge threat to my life and pride as a man. I want to take away my voice in order to avoid talking with anybody. This is not a self-pity question to get some love and attention from strangers on Yahoo. Thank you very much
