Why Is Reagan Regarded As One Of The Worst President In Us History Next To George Bush Was It His

Why do people say Obama was the worst president in history?

The only way you can consider Obama the worst president in American history is if you don’t know anything about or have never heard of:John Quincy Adams (Stellar diplomat and Congressman; got nothing done as POTUS)William Henry Harrison (Famous for dying a month into his term)Millard Fillmore, Franklin Pierce, and James Buchanan (The do-nothing Presidents who did very little to quell the sectional crisis that would result in Civil War; Buchanan sat idle while seven States seceded)Andrew Johnson (Largely reversed Lincoln’s ideas on Reconstruction; was impeached by the House of Representatives)Warren G. Harding (An abundance of scandals both personal and political; the enacting of the disastrous Prohibition era)Calvin Coolidge (Continuation of above, minus the adultery)Herbert Hoover (Two words: Great Depression)Richard Nixon (One word: Watergate. Whatever his other accomplishments, Nixon left a stain on the office that remains to this day)Gerald Ford (Most famous for falling down repeatedly and pardoning the above)Jimmy Carter (Disastrous response to the Iran hostage crisis, OPEC and economic fears)George W. Bush (September 11 attacks, disastrous wars in Iraq and Afghanistan begin on his watch, all with deep tax cuts that result in the worst recession since the 1930s)

Who do historians consider to be the worst U.S. president?

James Buchanan is regarded as the worst president in various Historical rankings of Presidents of the United States. He was the 15th president and held the office from 1857 to 1861. During this time the tensions between the northern and southern states have risen to a whole new level. Buchanan tried to negotiate some sort of agreement but he failed and earned disliked from both sides. When the southern states left the union his view was that secession was illegal but stopping it would also be illegal. The result was that he had done nothing.Buchanan's failures to tone down the separatist crisis, prevent the secession of the southern states and ultimately having a clear response on it cleared the way to the American Civil War.Therefore it's no wonder that Buchanan was and is regarded by many historians as the worst president of the USA.

Why is Ronald Reagan considered one of our better presidents?

The GOP needed a new messiah after Richard Nixon and his disgraceful exit and they found it in Ronnie Reagan with all the hyped up propaganda and not to be left out, Reagan’s ability to exploit racism and bigotry and vaporware promises to get the GOP back on its heels.Reagan, as future history would show, was one of the worst Presidents in US history and he used age old divisive techniques to polarize a country and the seeds he had sown in the 80s has grown into a ugly monster that is the GOP of today. Why is he considered one of our better Presidents? Because the GOP spin machine wants you to believe he was and he was a sub par President who did more damage to this country than good and was a clueless wombat as well. You know that famous John Wayne line from “The Man who killed LibertyValance”?“When the legend becomes the fact, print the legend”And that legend is Ronnie Reagan and GOP has been peddling that legend with more and more toppings and garnishments for over 30 years now.His VP and successor, GHWB, was a much better man and qualified one and perhaps the best of the GOP lot in the past 50 years. Unfortunately he ended up being a one termer, thanks to all the Reagan mess, economically and his other scandals in his administration.I’ve written enough answers on Reagan, the snake oil salesman of America before.Sam Adams's answer to Which famous person in history who is idolized, was actually a horrible person?

Is Ronald Reagan the worst U.S President of all time?

No. The worst ones served right before and after Lincoln and exascerbated the divide over slavery. In terms of 20th century, Ronald Reagan and Harry Truman stand out as unprepared and poor decision makers.Nixon was brilliant, yet cynical and morally bankrupt, thus making hin difficult to classify. The highwater mark for corrupt officials either convicted, indicted, or investigated and driven from office belongs to Reagan at 182. Reagan was treasonous at the get-go by negotiating with Iran to hold the release of hostages in Teheran until his inauguration. He further involved himself in the Iran Contra affair, created a crack cocaine epidemic that incarcerated many African Americans despite his popular“just say no to drugs” campaign. Very likely that selling drugs and military weapons subsidized the U.S. covert and illegal destabilization of Central American governments. It was difficult to tell whether he was deliberately corrupt. He did not seem to be engaged in running the government, nor did he seem able to learn: Reagan’s dementia was covered up. In parallels to 2017 and 2018, tax cuts for the rich and trickle down economics greatly added to the national debt. After a while calls to the White House by advocates of “supply side economics”, a.k.a , “trickle down” were not returned as the policy was a failure. He made his base of conservative support feel good about themselves, and he’s admired by all Republicans who want to recapture the mood. D.J. Trump wishes to do the same.

Was Reagan one of the dumbest Presidents ever?

Yes he sure was. Making Reagan into an icon is the biggest success of the American right in rewriting history, others include blaming Bill Clinton for 9/11 and the truth about Vietnam.

"If the Party could thrust its hand into the past and say this or that even, it never happened—that, surely, was more terrifying than mere torture and death."

"And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed—if all records told the same tale—then the lie passed into history and became truth. 'Who controls the past' ran the Party slogan, 'controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.'"

"Day by day and almost minute by minute the past was brought up to date. In this way every prediction made by the Party could be shown by documentary evidence to have been correct; nor was any item of news, or any expression of opinion, which conflicted with the needs of the moment, ever allowed to remain on record. All history was a palimpsest, scraped clean and reinscribed exactly as often as was necessary."

Your second question, "How can two people be so ignorant of reality and do so much harm to the environment?" I have to answer with religion and upbringing

Who is the most evil president in US history?

I'm not willing to call any of them evil, inept, yes but not evil. How would you define an evil president. I've seen no death camps like Hitler instituted, no mass murder of political prisoners, like Stalin, Pol Pot, Hitler, Saddam or Mao. I've seen no loss of our individual liberties, regardless of what others say about the Patriot Act.
However, we have had a few inept presidents and it kind of looks like no matter who we voter for in November we are likely to have one more.
