Outgoing Emails Getting Stuck in Yahoo Mail app Outbox on Samsung SIII Smartphone!?
I use Yahoo Mail on my Samsung S-III Smartphone (android), with Verizon as my carrier. I am finding that my emails are getting "stuck" in the Outbox instead of being sent out right away over 4G or over my fast wireless internet setup. Sometimes the email is stuck in Outbox for over an hour before it gets sent! The problem is intermittent. Verizon Technical Support has analyzed this problem, and after reinstalling the Mail app and performing other tests, they determined that the problem is NOT in their 4G network, nor is it in my wireless high speed internet setup. They believe the problem lies in the Yahoo Mail app for android. I have the latest Yahoo Mail app and latest android operating system installed. Adding insult to injury, when the "stuck" email is finally sent, it is timestamped as of the time it was sent.....not as of the time it was done. This creates a problem for those emails that are "time sensitive." Also, I do not have a similar problem when using Yahoo Mail on my laptop or desktop computer. How can I solve this annoying, intermittent problem for good?

I have an email stuck in outbox on android phone, cannot click on or even get to email to delete it. I have taken battery out and put back in and it is still there, When I try to click on email in outbox it tries to load but never does. I have no clue how to get to it to remove it. Plz help. Cannot find Outbox in my yahoo email. Where is it located?
The "outbox'' is used to hold emails that are in limbo. Meaning----those neither sent nor deleted----usually due to some fault (like overloading). They're just waiting in line to go. Yahoo doesn't have an "outbox". About the closest thing to an outbox would be the Draft folder----not the same at all,---but still the closest. The "sent" folder only holds emails that have been successfully sent.

If the emails you are attempting to send are stuck in the outbox, there's a number of possible explanations for this.The connection to the outbound mail server has failed (this may be just to the server itself, or maybe you've lost complete connectivity from your system to the internet/network)The email you are trying to send has an attachment and the size of the email including the attachment is too large for the mail server / exceeds the maximum allowed size for the email server (Note, if your limit is 100MB, you cannot send a 100MB file, you can only send something like a 70MB file due to the BASE64 encoding which will increase the size of the sent file - BASE64 encoding allows a binary file to be sent as text over the internet to prevent loss)The email address of the email you are sending to is not valid (or the mail server of that address is down).If you're using Outlook and you've opened up the email stuck in outbox, you will have to re-click the send button on the email itself to get Outlook to attempt to resend, if you don't click the send button, the email will just sit in the outbox, even if you click the send/receive button.

About a month ago I had a sent mail item in my yahoo.mail for Android 4.1.2 that remained in my out box. My outgoing messages are getting stuck in the draft folder. In the last few days it has becvome much worse and I'm told by Best Buy that the problem is with the code for yahoo mail and NEEDS TO BE FIXED. I have a temporary bandaide [ settings -> application manager -> ALL -> yahoo mail, near the bottom of the list -> clear cache and clear data. But that is just a temporary fix. The CODE needs to be fixed.
