Why Is The Democratic Party Sending Me Absentee Ballot And Coming To My House

Will I receive a conformation that my Absentee ballot has been counted?

You can send it certified mail and you will at least then know it was recieved and when, but as far as whether they actually counted it or not, there is no way to say for sure. Hopefully you can trust your court house employees.

The best you can do is send it and trust they will do the right thing. Some chance is better than none at all, which is what you would have if you didn't send it.

Hope you made the right choice, whoever you voted for. Same goes to my choice when I cast absentee next week. I would hate for another disappointment from either party.

Why is it always the Democrats who oppose counting military absentee ballots?

An election. Gore advocated not counting them in 2000 (I received MINE three days after the election!) since the military will historically vote along Republican/Conservative lines since they usually make "military positive" bills. The Democrats have never cared about the People; we are simply "inconveniences" to their Agenda! Harry Reid used a slavery example I found amusing since the Republicans are vilified as "racist" even all the way back to pre-Civil War since the Republicans counted slaves as "2/5ths" a person while the Democrats wanted to count them as "100%, whole"... know why? Because the Republicans knew that, with slaves being counted as such in the census, the Democrats would forever OWN the majority in both houses (through these census numbers) and they would never rid the country of slavery, much to the benefit of the elitist DEMOCRATIC slave owners! Some things never change...

It certainly suggests that Republicans do not want a large voter turnout, but we already know that. The modern-day Republican Party is defined by its shrinking demographic base coupled with its active and aggressive attempts to limit voting for those demographics that it fears — that is, everyone else, everywhere outside of Red state America.A party that dishonestly seeks to purge voters from the rolls, closes voting sites in minority neighborhoods, and constantly charges voter fraud with no evidence is not a party that is going to support making it easier for all Americans to vote on Election Day.Nor is it surprising that McConnell is so sure of himself that he doesn’t even try to pretend that he does not want to enable the enfranchisement of Americans to exercise what is in fact their constitutional rights.Republicans like to pretend they are all for the Constitution, but they are for nothing but themselves. If the Constitution gets in the way, they ignore it. Why do you think it was so important for them to capture the federal judiciary — to the point where they denied President Obama the right to appoint candidates to open seats? It’s a lot easier to entertain one’s inner fascist if you populate the judiciary with ideologues who agree with you.

The DNC needs to start listening more to its grassroots and stop squashing them. They did that when it came to Bernie Sanders, and its sister organizations—the DSCC and DCCC respectively—did a little of that with liberal and progressive candidates for the House and Senate. I understand the notion of party balance, but it seemed that they consistenly moved away from non-incumbent progressive candidates in favor of more centrist candidates. Also, it needs to engage more with workers and their families. They’ve moved away too much from labor, organized and not. They need to build local benches, people who will talk at the local level. They have let the Republican elite and the right-wing chatterers frame the narrative, far too much, letting the GOP build a local bench while they pretty much step away. They have hoped that facts will out and prove them right. Unfortunately, the oratory of the right makes people ignore actual facts in favor of “alternative facts,” aka lies. The leadership needs to read Gorgias, take its basic lesson on oratory to heart, and use a higher minimum of oratory to supplement the facts. They still won’t match the amount used by their political foes, but they'll at least start debugging the highly distorted narrative frames splitting us apart. This is a project of years at the least, but if they cannot think in terms of years and decades to counter the increasing institutional influence of Republican and right-wing leadership, they will remain a weak center-right party that is little better than Republican-lite economically. The country needs a stronger couterweight than that. There’s a reason why at least 3/5 of the country wants Medicare for all but the Democratic leadership hasn’t gone much further than tweaking Obamacare. The Democrats need to stop relying on moving rightward to get them votes when the ones they leave behind—the people turning off and dropping out—are increasingly on the left.

Why can't I vote outside of my political party?

As a member of a party, you are allowed to vote in primaries and ballots where they are selecting a candidate to run for a position as the representative. So if you are Democrat and there are two Democrat candidates who want the party backing for a Senate seat...you can vote for one. But if you are Democrat and there are two Republicans running for the support of the Republican party, you can't vote since you're not a member of that party. Now...when it actually get to the real vote for the Senate seat, with one Democratic sponsored candidate and one Republican sponsored candidate, you are free to vote for whomever you want. As an independent or someone with no political party ties, you could only vote at the final race.

Original Question:What if I vote by absentee ballot because I'll be out of town during the election but I cancel my travel plans at the last minute? I work at the Georgia polls*- so...You file a provisional ballot. You state this reason you asked in your question. You submit your vote and the election office (off site) verifies your reason and your vote is counted. Full disclosure, it might/might not get counted that evening and won't make it to the election returns for a day or two.*I am retired and work only two days/year on even numbered years...5:30am-9:30pm. I am not authorized to give "formal opinions". I am taking Wednesday morning off from Quora!!!EDIT- correct but here is a detailed reply, note last line.

Because Republicans lost control of the GOP.I've known a lot of true Republicans. In the Bush Era, we had heated debates, screamed hyperbole, and sometimes wouldn't talk for a few weeks, but at the end of the day I respected them and they respected me. They are good people who want the same things for people that I do, and no matter how angry we got, nobody forgot what we had in common. All of them proclaimed on social media their first cross-party votes in their lives either in 2016 or 2018. There was a lot of discussion, as many people who find the Democrats to be as conservative as I do voted for a Democrat just to fight the Trump machine. Liberals and true conservatives alike voted for the Right-Centrist democrats just to deny Trump the House, and overcame election rigging, gerrymandering, and fraud to do it.The GOP is not conservative. It claims conservative values the way it always has, but it lacks them. It claims to be Christian but makes a point of policy to rip children from the arms of refugees and allows them to die without ever seeing their parents again. It claims to be for small businesses, but it starts trade wars that choke those businesses from their supply of inexpensive stock and materials, favoring the massive corporations instead. It claims to want superior Healthcare while fighting to allow insurance companies to refuse service to the sick and the elderly. It claims to support the troops and honor the veterans, but begins stripping VA programs. Finally, it claims to support freedom of the press, a foundation stone for the country, but turns one news agency into a state mouthpiece while decrying all conflicting sources as “fake news”, and even seems aloof to the murder of journalists worldwide for exposing oligarchs and tyrants. That's why many Republicans just call themselves conservatives and refuse the title anymore. They voted with centrists and liberals for the first time in their lives because they decided subverting ones long-held loyalties is a better option than remaining loyal to a tyrant.

Why are obama supporters from ACORN flagrantly breaking campaign law in the Ohio absentee ballot?

Just recently the Obama campaign paid $832,598 to ACORN to facilitate their Project Votes initiative. ACORN has a long history of voter fraud and is currently under investigation in several states for voter fraud.

Democrats and organizations like ACORN forced Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Banks to meet a quota of sub-prime mortgages or pay big penalties. So to comply with their quotas they made mortgages affordable by using schemes like:

"100 percent financing . . ."
"No down payment . . ."
"Interest only loans . . ."
"No income . . .
"No job . . ."
"No assets . . ."
"No credit scores . . ."
"Low credit scores . . ."
"No SSN required . . ."
"ITIN identification accepted . . ."
"Undocumented income . . . even if you don't report it on your tax returns . . ."

There was no question that the lenders were threatened with charges of violating the CRA if they didn't make home loans to people with poor credit ratings. Community activist groups like ACORN patrolled the lenders to make sure that unqualified buyers could get loans. When Obama was a lawyer/community activist he represented ACORN and sued Fannie Mae to reduce the requirements for getting mortgages. So the lenders complied and loaned to high risk buyers. As any banker will tell you, your credit rating determines your interest rate. So these high risk buyers wound up with adjustable rate mortgages (ARMs).

I don’t think what happened to you rises to the level of a civil rights violation. Like any large-scale endeavor, a national election is bound to have some errors. That’s part of life. The error likely occurred at your local county-run voting precinct and was probably committed by a volunteer who doesn’t know you and has no vested interest in violating your rights.First, most states send you a voter registration card in the mail in advance of the election reminding you that you’re registered and where your polling place is. If you didn’t get that, or if the information on it was in error, it was your responsibility to let your local voting office know to correct it.If all was well on the voter registration card, and the first indication you had was when you showed up at the polling place, then maybe you have a valid complaint. However, you have not yet been denied the right to vote in the “election”. The election hasn’t occurred yet. What you missed out on is your party’s primary. If anyone is at fault besides your county voting officials, it would be YOUR party. After all, it’s their primary.Be that as it may, there are a lot of variables that we don’t know based on your question, so no one here can really give you a good, thorough answer. For example, what state are you in? Did you or didn’t you get a voter registration card? Was the info on that card correct or not? etc, etc.I feel your pain. I was overseas serving in the military in 1992 and was denied my right to vote. A helicopter carrying all our absentee ballots crashed, and it was too late to resubmit everyone’s ballots because of our remote location. As far as voting later is concerned, there is a deadline for all votes to be submitted for count. This timeline is established by each individual state, not the federal government or the parties. Once that deadline is past, no other votes will be counted. It may not be fair to you, but it’s the way it is.I suppose if you feel someone purposely messed up your voting info to commit voter fraud, and if you have any evidence of that, then you have the option of suing in court. That would be your only recourse at this point, and would only be feasible if you have some clear evidence wrongdoing.
