Why is politics such a sore subject?
I can understand something like religion being a subject people will become heated about, but why politics? Clearly political debate is important and necessary, but what makes it so personal?
Why is politics such a popular subject and why are so many people obsessed with Trump?
Politics affect every aspect of a citizens’ life in a country, where you go./cannot go, what you eat, buy, and whether you’re even considered a member of that society, and whether you’re allowed to live or must die. Leaders who establish policies, laws, and regulations are able to control every facet of a persons’ life in a society.Donald Trump’s presidency has affected all of it. Placing the whims of some citizens (White folk) above all others; setting the tome of what behavior is legal and illegal, and generally establishing an authoritarian, plutocracy form of government. DT has proven to be a danger to not only the American way of life but to the lives of people living in other countries. His presidency is a menace the very concept of civility, order, and right behavior,Simply being preoccupied or haunted by his actions isn’t enough being just obsessed with DT’s presidency, people better wake-up, especially White folk who are being played by the ultimate con just because he’s White, that Donald Trump is a very real threat to your life.

Because politics is part of the problem, not part of the solution. Did you know that the vast majority of successful politicians, (elected officials), either already have been, or eventually will become, attorneys? They seek and obtain authority over the very laws, precedents, and procedures that govern not only how they earn money the rest of their working lives, but also the people who are then forced to pay a week's wage for an hour's work. That is a horrific and intentional conflict of interest. The result is government of the people by attorneys, for attorneys, under the guise of representing the people.

Why are religion and politics such touchy subjects to bring up?
Because most people have such strong opinions on them. My mother was raised in a staunchly Protestant home that very much respected other people’s opinions on religion.I, on the other hand, have been educated to believe that you are not truly a Christian if you are not sharing Christ. That to be a Christian is to be so filled with the joy that is Christ that you can do nothing but share it.Well, I am 64 and my mother is 84, and we live together. It makes for interesting times.Politics, same kind of thing. As a devout Catholic, I am probably more towards the conservative side of things, but truly, when it comes right down to it, apolitical on a lot of issues, although here in America, the one great party of the United States has made things like child murder and gay marriage non-negotiable making it impossible for someone who actually believes in God to ever vote for someone running on the Democratic ticket.And I am shocked beyond words when someone makes an equally bizarre comment about the other side.Not that I am all on board with either, but there are things which one can never countenance if one expects to stand before God and hopes for mercy.Nevertheless, how can you have a conversation with someone who radically opposes what you view as the very meaning of life on earth? So, I have neighbors that if I want to get through the party without having them drive me out with pitchforks, I try to avoid those issues.If I cannot, I go home and offer a prayer, or stay, and try to explain the Catholic faith, and wait for them all to leave or drive me out….
