Why Is There No Sound On My Computer Speakers

Why is there no sound on my computer speakers but there is sound when i plug in earphones?

this sounds stupid, but I've done it: are all the volume controls up? I have volume control on my 3 speakers, on the application, AND on my keyboard... if any of those are off, I can only hear with my headphones. be sure to double check... just to be sure haha =)

Why is there no sound on my computer speakers?

1. re install the audio drivers.
2. check the audio settings in control pannel.
3. if this two steps doesn't solve the problem try changing the speaker.u don't need to buy it u can get form your friends.

No sound on my computer, but speakers sound 'on'?

This question is very vague but I will try to help you.

You have determined that the speakers are on and pulling power from the information above.

check the connection between the computer and the speakers to insure they are plugged in and connected to the correct port.

Check to see if the volume and wave balance are set to an acceptable range. To do this right click on the speaker lanch icon at the lower right corner of your computer. by opening the volume menu you should be able to adjust the sound options. Also make sure the computer is not muted.

Try a different set of speakers to see if your speakers are blown out.

if all of these steps fail update the soundcard driver from the manufactures website.

If all of the following procedures do not resolve the issue there is a chance thay esd has damaged your soundcard and it may need to be replaced. This of course is the last item you should check and someone with computer hardware experence should complete the install.

I hope this helps you out.

There can be following issues: 1. You have kept them on mute. If so, you will see an icon of speakers in System tray besides clock on taskbar showing speakers muted. Unmute from there.2. The application that you are expecting to produce sound is having volume set to zero. e.g. You want VLC or Windows Media Player to play a sound but the volume there is set to 0.3. You do not have necessary audio drivers installed. In this scenario, you will have to download necessary drivers. For this, if you know the model number of your computer (e.g. Dell Inspiron 5521, Lenovo ideapad z510 ), go to Google and search for "*model number of computer* drivers download". You will get the link to support page of company of your PC. Download Audio driver, install it and you are good to go.If you do not know model number of your computer, you will need to get one of the driver fixing utility. But they are usually not free. So, suggestion would be to take the system to tech support shop / computer repairing shop and they will solve the problem in a few minutes.Hope this helps. :)

There is NO sound coming from my computer speakers. What is wrong?

I am a professional developer with Microsoft, and have about 10 years of experience in the field of Computer Engineering. Most problems with PC's are the result of malicious software that infected a Computer. Examples of this are things such as malware, viruses, trojans, spyware, adware, root kits, and worms. In other cases, they are the result of stability issues due to crashes, freezes, or Hardware Issues. Some examples of hardware issues could be a dirty cooling fan causing the computer to overheat, or low memory due to lack of RAM, which could cause the PC to run slowly. You may think it could be a virus, or malware, or registry issues, but it could be something else entirely. As a computer layman, one may find it hard to really ascertain what exactly is causing the problems, without having a professional do an in depth analysis of your PC.

As professional computer repairs can be quite costly, I would recommend to you a Software that many of us in the tech department here at Microsoft use personally and professionally to diagnose and repair computer problems very quickly. It is a software called Reimage, from https://tr.im/ReimageRepairs .. In my personal experience, and in the experience of many of my associates, this is probably the best software ever created for those experiencing computer troubles. This is likely to remedy just about ANY problem your computer could possibly be having, and have it running like new. Reimage has won several awards, and been featured in publications such as PC Mag.

My computer speakers buzz or no sound at all if plugged all the way in?

Your speakers are fine if you hear static. The problem you are facing is a software issue.
Try using volume control (from control panel) and adjusting the volume. If not, open every software you have installed (EVERY SINGLE ONE, YES) and turn the volume (if any) to high.

If this does not work, try installing a new sound driver. (SoundMAX)

If all else fails, reinstall your OS

There may be several causes. Here are some things you can do.Check if no audio devices are plugged in. I know it sounds stupid but it has happend more than once that someone left something plugged in in the back of the computerCheck if your sound is enabeld. In the taskbar, next to your time and date (if you’re using windows), there should be a volume control. Make sure it is not on mute.Check if you are using the correct playback device. Right click the volume control and click playback devices. Set whatever you want to use to default device.Note: some devices do not show up here (regular earphones for example. In that case select Speakers (its a Realtek High Definition Audio Device)Restart your computer. Sometimes the software that works with the sounds crashes/bugs out. Restarting your computer will fix this issueAdvanced: manually update your sound card driver. I will not go into explaining it here but google can do a good job at that. Don’t do this if you got no clue of what you’re doing and like a working computer.Sometimes your soundcard just dies (altough I’ve never seen that happen I know it’s possible). If the above steps do not help you and google has no further options either you’re best off bringing it to your local computer repair store. This will likely cost you around 50€.
