USPS Lost package! what do I do?
First you need to call this number 1(800) 222-1811 to let the USPS know there is a problem and they will do what they can to fix it. Call at these times for a live operator. 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Eastern Time (6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. CST) Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time (8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. CST) Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays (2008 Postal Holidays) Give them as much as information as you can such as the Custom Form number and anything they ask for, make sure you have your receipt with you when you call. As for the seller, all you can do is reassure them you are doing all you can possibly do to find out what happen to the Package. But be prepared to give them a refund if the package is lost. Next time insure the packages you send, it would be worth it regardless which carrier you send it.
USPS lost my package NO TRACKING NUMBERS?
I shipped an item via USPS and asked for insurance and delivery confirmation. They told me I could NOT get delivery confirmation if I bought insurance and told me insurance comes with tracking numbers. They told me the numbers on the insurance receipt can be used for tracking. The numbers are VH 316 848 985 US BUT THEY DONT WORK. The person never got the item. What can I do now? I also lost the receipt but I payed with credit card and know the worker. DO THEY HAVE A COPY OF THE RECEIPT IN THEIR COMPUTER????

Why is USPS taking so long? Could my package be lost?
The expected delivery was yesterday, on July 5th. The latest tracking update on the website said it departed a sort facility in San Bernardino, CA which is only an hour away from my house and the nearest USPS facility or post office in my area. It's been like this for two days already. Why hasn't it reached my house or at least a USPS facility or post office? I'm starting to get worried that my package has been lost :( USPS shipping has been taking longer than usual in the past few weeks.

So a few days before Christmas, I ordered an item through Amazon from China. I expected this to take a long time to ship, but it was in the US by the 27th or so, and it supposedly left Isc San Francisco on the 28th. That was on the 28th... today is the 5th... It has been a few days. Why hasn't it updated since then? Has USPS lost my package, or does it normally take this long to update after leaving Isc San Francisco?
How can I look up a lost USPS tracking number?
I shipped something about 3 weeks ago and the recipient is saying they never received it. When I shipped the package at my local post office I got delivery confirmation and insurance but I have misplaced the tracking number & receipt. I tried calling USPS and found it impossible to get to a human being, so I went to my local post office and they told me there was nothing they could do. I know the tracking info must be in a database somewhere, how can I get the USPS to look it up for me?

USPS is very slow with tracking. I am 98 Percent sure your package is not lost. I've ordered things and checked tracking a week later and it still has not updated. Sometimes they don't even scan your package at stops. Heck, I've gotton my packages in the mail when tracking said it was in Nevada. And I'm in Illinois! You should be getting it very soon, no worries.
What is USPS policy on a lost package that was not insured?
I sent a package to one of my eBay buyers. USPS tracking number 9102 1288 8230 0692 2232 66 says that it left a facility on October 23 and is en route. The person still did not get it. It was mailed Parcel Post. At what point should I contact USPS to have it tracked? What do they do if it is not insured? Please don't give worthless advice for NEXT time. Yeah, next time I might use Priority Mail or have it insured. Reply if you have experience tracking lost items. Thank you, Yahoo! Answers.
Lost USPS Tracking Number - Paid with CC?
Sorry, it is the mailer responsibility to hang on to confirmation and special service receipts. With out that number, you are done. There is no way to recover the number from any receipt or transaction. Trying to keep track of things like that would be nearly impossible. There are around 8 million transactions each business day through the various USPS locations and outlets.
