Why Should A Company Be Concerned With Global Management

Why should we be concerned of global warming?

Well, for a start, it's predicted that there will be regional changes in climate. This can be a worry, for instance, in agricultural economies that depend on the climate. Millions could starve. In my country, Australia, this has been the subject of a number of studies by our chief scientific body, the CSIRO [see link below].

Another effect is the polls, glaciers, and icecaps melting. This should lead to rising sea levels, which may lead to the disappearance of coastal cities. That could be pretty disastrous for millions too.

I was reading recently, that the melting of permafrost in Iceland, Siberia and else where is causing the discharge of large amounts of methane, and could triple the atmosphere's methane content. This is of particular worry, and could further enhance the greenhouse effect to catastrophic levels, making the world warm up a lot more and a lot faster than previously anticipated.

Why should I be concerned with global warming?

Well honestly, it doesn't matter if you're concerned about global warming or not. The correct term is climate change, and contrary to popular belief the jury is still out on whether we can affect it that much or not.

BUT, you should be concerned about the environment. We have been on the right track in recent years, but there is still a long way to go. Plus the oil and fossil fuel supplies decrease with each passing day. Just worry about reducing your energy usage, reducing waste, etc. And a lot of the things you can do to help the environment will also benefit you.

You can use less electricity which will save you money, as will driving your car less. Less driving also equals more walking and biking, which is good for your health and your looks. Eating organic is good for the environment and your body. The more organic foods you eat, the less horomones and pesticides you consume.

The hype surrounding "global warming" kind of scares me, becuase it's not only drawing attention away from other issues, but it's also causing well-meaning but misinformed people to do things that actually harm the environment for the sake of attempting to reduce the effects of climate change.

Why should we be concerned of global warming?

Whether dissimilarity, the earth warmness, the unnatural disaster like flood, tsunami, frequent earth quake,, all of sudden heavy rainfall etc is the big reasons of global warming.

Among all of us, so many times we are asking this Ques, "Why should we be concerned of global warming?" but after giving the proper answer, we forget it once again. So it's so simple we do not take our responsibilities at personal level.

Think Seriously.

Why should we be concerned with global warming?

dont listen to the two aboveme please. ozone has nothing to do with global warming. the " hole in the ozone layer" disappeared years ago. Now its greenhouse gases causing the heat on the eath to rise. which is a bunch of bull since thers no evidence. Oh and since the scientists and producers who made an inconvienient truth stated after the fact " we admit we have used statistics that weer exaggerated to make a point." in fact all the hype about global warming is nothing more than a psychic prediction. theres no evidence yet. Al gore likes to say oh its warmer this year than any other year before!, except weve only been keeping track of temperatures in this country since the 1800's. This makes no sense since the earths cylces of cooling and heating take place over thousands of years. My favorite is how they blame hurricane katrinas devastation, on global warming. The fact the most of louisiana is below sea level and the residents of luisiana voted against raising taxes to fix the levies to keep the sea water back, meant nothing. Oh and al gore says global warming is the cause for the large amount of hurricanes, except last year we had fewer hurricanes than any year in the previous 15 years. Yep lots of evidence here. I am amazed so many people talk about global warming but no one seems to take the time to learn the facts.

Why are ecologists concerned with global warming?

Which of the following statements best describes why ecologists are currently concerned with global warming and the thawing of permafrost in many areas of the tundra biome?
a. The thawing process will likely decrease the abundance and diversity of soil-dwelling organisms in the tundra
b. Migratory species of birds will likely be less successful finding food in thawed tundra, and their abundance will drop dramatically.
c. Populations of humans inhabiting the Arctic will have to move to more southern latitutdes, resulting in increases competition for resources in already densely populated areas
d. Oil and coal deposits will thaw and rise to the surface (due to their lower density) of the tundra, destroying millions of acres of arctic habitat
e, The bacterial decomposition of thawed organic materials over the widespread areas of the tundra will produce large quantities of CO2, which will add to greenhouse gases and exacerbate global warming.

Should I be concerned about Global Warming?

it's not COMPLETELY a matter of anyone being concerned personally. most people will survive even the worst of global warmings effects. nothing's gonna come to YOUR home and cause physical damage.

It's more of a moral concern. It's about not being so selfish and arrogant (as you seem to be), and leaving the planet in at LEAST as good a condition as you found it. If not in better condition.

Plus, researchers are finding that this damage is stacking up many times faster than they could have ever anticipated, so we're not talking abstract great great grand children. YOU may actually be affected in YOUR lifetime. and you will leave to your children a dead planet where they won't see wildlife cause it'll mostly be extinct and they won't know forests or wilderness cause it'll be all dead or developed over. You love your kids don't you?

Would you go to a friends house or a fancy hotel or something and trash the place and leave garbage and spilled food all over just cause it "won't affect YOU"? No! no one would, so why would you, or anyone else for that matter, want to do that to our earth, which is FAR more important, crucial, and beautiful than a house or a hotel?

Why are people concerned about global warming?

Here are a few universal effects of climate change:

•Arctic sea ice is declining. In the last 50 years Arctic sea ice extent has been declining at a average rate of about 38,000 square kilometers per year.At the moment arctic sea ice it’s melting about 1½ times as fast as normal, in the last 10 years it’s been melting at a rate of 170,000km² a year. http://nsidc.org/data/seaice_index/image...
Arctic sea ice volume is declining at a rate of about 340 cubic kilometers per year. http://psc.apl.washington.edu/ArcticSeai...

•Glaciers are retreating
http://www.wgms.ch/mbb/mbb9/sum06.html

•Sea level is rising (Sea level rise is caused by the thermal expansion of sea water due to climate warming and widespread melting of land ice)
http://www.aviso.oceanobs.com/en/news/ocean-indicators/mean-sea-level/

Many of the effects (of AGW) vary from region to region.

•North America: Decreasing snowpack in the western mountains; increased frequency, intensity and duration of heat waves in cities that currently experience them.

•Latin America: Gradual replacement of tropical forest by savannah in eastern Amazonia; risk of significant biodiversity loss through species extinction in many tropical areas; significant changes in water availability for human consumption, agriculture and energy generation.

•Europe: Increased risk of inland flash floods; more frequent coastal flooding and increased erosion from storms and sea level rise; glacial retreat in mountainous areas; reduced snow cover and winter tourism; extensive species losses; reductions of crop productivity in southern Europe.

•Africa: By 2020, between 75 and 250 million people are projected to be exposed to increased water stress; yields from rain-fed agriculture could be reduced by up to 50 percent in some regions by 2020; agricultural production, including access to food, may be severely compromised.

•Asia: Freshwater availability projected to decrease in Central, South, East and Southeast Asia by the 2050s; coastal areas will be at risk due to increased flooding; death rate from disease associated with floods and droughts expected to rise in some regions. http://climate.nasa.gov/effects/

Are you concerned by Global Warming?

I am very concerned about global warming. I think it could lead to extiction of our species in the near future. There are many changes that need to happen to fix this problem.
The biggest environmental problem in terms of global warming is
unfortunately ignored. That is Cattle Farming.
Cattle farming is the root of all evil with global warming, The methane created by cattle is majority of what effects the ozone. Cattle and other livestock are also the primary reason there has been deforestation which also promotes global warming . Grass-fed cattle is not an answer either, while it may be more humane(which matters at some level), it produces just as much methane since it takes longer to raise them. Also to have all cattle grass fed at the current population would require more land than there is available on earth. If people do not change their dietary
behaviors or companies do not resort to plant substitues, there is no hope for fixing global warming. One of the main things people should think about when considering their environmental impact, is what they put in their mouth. One of the reasons I am vegan.
Do not disregard Coal power either. With all of the coal currently being used, that is another major issue promoting global warming. If countries using large amounts of it such as india and China do not change, it will also be quite a challenge for our species to last on this planet
