Is the american progressive tax system socialism or communism?
so to a certain extent can it not be said that Obama is more fiscally conservative than mccain since he understands that the govt spends a lot of money that we have recored budget deficits etc...and he wants to raise taxes from those who can most afford it while cutting taxes for those near the bottom and the middle who need a break? To me this is fiscally conservative as it deals with reality and seems like sound accounting principles too. The other guys act like children..they dont want to pay taxes, they want more tax cuts for those who give the most in taxes depriving the govt of the revenue it needs to run while knowing full well that govt is very expensive to run and they say its ok to borrow the deficit from china .
How has agrarian change in India been?
Agriculture in India has improved over time with the adoption of better seeds, use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides and the support of the government by providing subsidies has helped many. Nowadays, we also see a lot more use of machinery like tractors, harvesters, tillers and others being used. This has helped India increase its food production to meet the domestic needs.Earlier farmers were dependent on local varieties of seeds, and were able to have one crop per year. But now, many are doing 2 crops per year. They are also adopting cultivation of pulses, vegetables and other cash crops to increase their income.But there is a lot more to achieve. Our farming techniques are still outdated. We have very poor irrigation facilities. We are heavily dependent on monsoons and it is hurting us a lot due to frequent droughts. Our people involved in the farm sector remains to be poor, living in poverty, deprived of the basic needs of healthcare, education and sanitation.We need a second revolution and it needs to be different from the green revolution. This should provide the structure to the poor farmers to get right price for their produce by elimination of middle men. They should be imparted skill improvement training to adopt better techniques of farming, move to organic farming from chemical, start venturing for additional sources of income through animal husbandry or anything else.
