Why don't movies in DVD format fill the entire screen on my new TV?
3 possibilities -1) Aspect ratio on television set incorrectly (as mentioned above) Use your TV remote to change - it varies by TV, but typically there's a 16:9 vs. 4:3 setting (which you'd want set to16:9, then there are various 'zoom' settings that can change the appearance. if your issue is that you have black or white space to left or right of pic, then this is likely your problem.2) Aspect ratio on your cable box/dish box, etc. Same as above; often will combine with TV settings making it even more difficult to figure out. Set TV to 16:9 and Zoom to 'Full' or 'Wide', then adjust cable set-top box.(cable box settings (#2 above) will only affect DVD playback if DVD output runs through cable box)3) MOST LIKELY - DVD's can be recorded at various aspect ratios (length to height). Believe it or not, a lot of movies shown in theaters use a 2.35:1 ratio. If this is transferred to DVD, you will have black or grey bars above and below your screen, b/c a typical HDTV uses 16:9, or 1.77 ratio. Look on the box cover of the DVD. If it states '1.85:1' or just 1.85, then you should be good. If it states 2.35, expect the black bars. If you absolutely hate them, you can 'zoom' in with your TV control, but you'll lose some of the left-side and right side.

Why when i burn a dvd its not full screen?
I have it set to 16:9 but still no full screen. im guess its the file format since i downloaded another video and it showed up as full screen. Is there some converter that i can use to convert the video files to full screen? ive wasted like 10 dvds already ;(

How to burn a wmv video to a CD-R?
SORry ITS LONG BUT I NEED HELP ASAP plzz readd.... I made a video on windows movie maker, and then when I saved it into my computer it saved as WMV, and it played perfectly in windows media player. I though that I could just burn it like burning songs, but I couldnt burn it thru windows media player, actually in windows media player under BURN it gives you options to choose from, there is one AUDIO CD and one DATA CD OR A DVD,. i tried both but when I tried to play it on my dvd (Insignia) it gave me a weird sound and didnt play. So I looked thru google and saw that i have to make it avi, i converted it to avi (using Any Video Converter) , but then it didnt have video on windows media player because of missing codecs or something, so again after searching for hours I downloaded DIVX and that helped me, the avi started playing with sound and video on windows media player, but i still didnt know how to burn it on cd. then i tried to vonvert the video in any video converter as NTSC and i still didnt know how to burn it. then i tried to burn using divx and again no luck, i put the blank cd in the cd rom, and then go to transfer to dvd player or tv ( i tried both) and then i put the video in there and click on start it starts to convert the video, and after it gets to 90 something percent the status said canceled. i dont know what else to do! i need this dvd tomorrow. I can buy a blank DVD tomorrow and try that too but will it work? i dont know if my computer burnd dvds or no i never tried that. I have HP Pavilion and its vista. And i dont want a data cd, because i have to play it on the tv. my dvd player is insignia or something like that, and it usually plays jpeg pictures and stuff......sorry its long i just wanted to explain every step that i took. plz help :( thanks in advance
