Why Was I So Hung Over Alcohol Question

Alcohol question 5'3 120 pds?

Hang in there while you can because it won't last long and alcoholism is knocking at your door.

Is alcohol still in your system if you're hung over?

Yep. Just eat a meal before you get drunk, and be sure to drink a lot of water as well while you're drinking and the morning after.

Oh... and give your car keys to someone else, as well as keeping some cab fare on you.

How do I know if I have alcohol posioning?

thats what happens when you drink. you did have alcohol poisoning, but on Saturday. all the alcohol is out of your system, what you are now feeling is the effects of the damage the alcohol did to pretty much every cell in your body. thats why the drinking age is 21, because litterally every time you are drunk, you technically have alcohol poisoning. the best way to know if you have severe A.P. is if you pass out and never wake up again and die. thats pretty much the best way to tell. also throwing up 6 times in 20 min is another good indicator.

Why do so many people here think their hangovers are "alcohol poisoning"?

They obviously can't handle much alcohol in their system. If you can type out a huge question asking if you have alcohol poisoning and you're not getting your stomach pumped or you're not in the hospital, or basically throwing up everywhere as you type, then you're just HUNG OVER!

Why do people drink alcohol, even when they know there are so many disadvantages to it? Why is alcohol such a big part in our lives?

For most people, alcohol intoxication isn’t unpleasant, sickening, or painful. These symptoms are most often associated with a hangover, which results from metabolising the alcohol in their system. It comes after the inebriation. In fact, being under the influence of alcohol can dramatically ease physical pain the drinker may have been experiencing beforehand. The anesthetic properties of alcohol are widely recognised. It’s why a drunk person can fall down the stairs, bust their head open, and carry on drinking as though it were nothing. And as for unpleasant… Well, if being drunk weren’t a pleasant experience, alcohol wouldn’t be worth £16 billion per year in the UK alone. In fact, it looks like the worldwide alcoholic beverage market will be worth over $1.5 trillion by 2022. That’s a lot of people spending a lot of their hard earned cash. Admittedly, a lot of that will lead to extremely unpleasant experiences, but that tends to be the result of the actions of the individual rather than the feeling of the booze itself. In general the feeling of inebriation is a pleasant one for many people. So, to answer your question, so many people drink alcohol because it is usually the very opposite of what you describe, unless you go overboard.

Does drinking alcohol while you are hungover help alleviate the symptoms?

The symptoms of a hangover vary, and are usually more severe when the amount of alcohol consumed is higher. The symptoms may include:Accelerated heartbeatAnxietyBloodshot eyesBody and muscle achesDiarrhoeaDizzinessHalitosisHeadacheHypersalivationLethargy, tiredness, fatigue, listlessnessNauseaPhotophobia (sensitivity to light)Problems focusing or concentratingSensitivity to loud soundsDepression (dysphoria)IrritabilityMoodinessStomachacheThirstTrembling or shakiness, erratic motor functionsVomiting.(http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/...)The symptoms usually become apparent as the level of alcohol in the blood starts to reduce. So yes, alcohol can relieve the symptoms of a hangover, but this is only a temporary measure and the symptoms will return when the alcohol level starts to reduce again.

Why do I feel hungover everyday despite not consuming any alcohol?

The reason may be Sleep apnea. This condition can be caused by being overweight or other physical factors. Breathing is interrupted, causing a disturbed sleep pattern.

Do those who are alcohol dependent get hangovers? Or is their body so used to alcohol that they don't get them?

The sign of alcoholism is the same as the sign of any addiction. “Addiction is a pathological relationship with a mood-elevating substance or activity that has life damaging consequences”.Alcohol is a protoplasmic (cell) poison that can do a lot of damage to your health and leave you feeling pretty sick if you ingest more than your body can manage at a given time. Alcoholics develop “tolerance”, in other words, they have to drink more and more alcohol as time goes by, both to get drunk, and also to cause hangover symptoms or alcohol poisoning symptoms.Hangovers and other damage to your health can be considered “life-damaging consequences” but it's a question of scale, degree, and other factors that determine if it amounts to serious enough negative consequences to rise to the level of being called “addiction”.Addiction itself is a continuum; there are greater and lesser levels of severity. The relative severity of addiction is often easy to measure by the seriousness of the consequences the addict is willing to tolerate to continue their relationship with their substance or activity of addiction. Some people do not get “hangovers” but they’re a small minority. Most alcoholics can get both hangovers after they drink, and a much worse symptom reaction pattern than just an ordinary hangover if and when they stop drinking and go too long without consuming alcohol So they tend to be sick a lot. Over the long term their overall health diminishes, sometimes drastically.Along with headaches, nausea or vomiting, agitation or irritability, anxiety or nervousness, and hallucinations, they can get “shakes”, known as Delirium Tremens sometimes leading to convulsion, and even cardiac failure. The “solution” many find (as was pointed out elsewhere here) is simply to keep drinking, but that can lead to other kinds of health and life problems, and a high risk of resulting serious illness, injury, or death.

Why am I always so damn hung over after drinking Labatt Blue?

I am a Canadian and take offence to the comments made by the local yokels, I am not a Labatts Blue fan, but it is not a bad beer, and by law we are not allowed to put preservatives in our beer, even the one's shipped to the US, it is a lager and is a bit more heady then regular beers.

And unfortunately a beer hangover is a harder one to deal with. But it is not going to last forever, up here in Canada we have some very nice beers and it is not for the faint of heart.
