Why Was My Answer Reported

Why are my old answers reported?

I used to be quite active in the Finance Section and part of my service to the community was directing people to a government sponsored site that allows you to pull your credit reports, free of charge, for up to 3 times a year.

This is a government sponsored site and the only place where you can, by law, get these reports without having to pay for it.

Now, years later, these answers are reported and erased and appealing it does not seem to make a difference.

Why is that?

Why was my answer reported and removed?

I got an email saying my answer was reported to the yahoo answers community and removed. I'd like to know why. I put a link for a site to watch movies on but I see people doing that all the time so are you not supposed to put links in your answers?

I had an answer reported?

Why was my answer on Quora deleted? How can I ask Quora to restore my answer?

Note - After discovering new information I have edited my responseinitial AnswerDozens of my TEFL related answers have just been deleted. Yes I advertise my blog on my posts but only when it is relevant and at the end of posts.I have posted similar or identical answers on a few questions but again only when it is relevant. For example for questions like ‘Where can I get a TEFL qualification to teach in Vietnam?’ and ‘What is the best Online TEFL course to do?’ I would post the same response seeing as my response relates to doing a Online TEFL course which helped me find a teaching job in Vietnam.I wish the moderation process was not so faceless, I would like to be given an explanation as to why my posts were deleted and an opportunity to amend my posts. It seems like a harsh way of dealing with an account holder who has written over 200 answers and been on the site over a year.New InformationI discovered I could find the reasons why my answers were moderated in the Edit section. What is expat life like in Vietnam?Answer edited. This operation was reverted by Quora Moderation. (#468520644)In Vietnam if you are from a native English speaking country and have white skin you should be making $17+ an hour. Do not accuse me of being racist, the frank unfortunate reality is some Vietnamese companies will simply not consider non white people. Although Apax English, who I work for, has a far more progressive open minded attitude towards the matter. This sort of money goes far in Vietnam. A late night Banh Mi (baguette) or kebab will cost less than $2 and at $0.22, Bia Hoi must be some of the cheapest beer in the world. My motorbike cost $264 and $2-3 worth of petrol covers 40km+.The low living costs in Vietnam mean you can let your hair down each night but still have money for road trips, tourist attractions and adventures abroad. You may find these three links helpful -I have removed the hyperlinks for this specific response to avoid being accused of being spammy again .Teaching in Vietnam - Ross the ExplorerTeaching in Vinh Yen - Ross the ExplorerMy Experience Doing the Online INTESOL TEFL courseThe three links I have put at the bottom of the post are regarded as being spam. All three links relate to the initial question though. I think this one issue has impacted a few of my answers.

Answers can be reported as "Doesn't answer the Question." Do you have some criteria for what actually is an answer, and what isn’t? How do you personally make that assessment?

What is an answer? An answer can be as simple as yes or no, though supporting material is nice.Explaining why the question is unanswerable is acceptable if politely stated. Religious questions. Existential questions. Personal questions that ask “What Should I do?” “Does he love me?”A short answer, with a suggestion of an alternate question is acceptable.A thorough answer, containing related material not in the question.A thorough answer, trying to interpret what the asker wanted to know or why.Quora says that your answer must be complete as it stands, on the page. What doesn’t answer the question?A link, without at least the gist of the answer. This includes links to a previous answer on Quora, links to a similar question on Quora, links to your blog, site, or book where you discuss the topic.Stating “I already answered this question.” “There are a million answers to the question on Quora.”Sarcasm or snark is not an answer. Three paragraphs of aggravated sarcasm and one sentence of reply isn't answering the question.Scolding the asker is not an answer. Report the question if it’s unacceptable. Or downvote it and ignore it. If you don't think it deserves an answer, don’t answer it!Tangential or oblique answers, where it’s clear the question is merely an excuse for the answer, and not a very good excuse at that.Spam or scam postings. This question was an outgrowth of If a Quora question asks for X, and the answerer suggests Y instead because they think it is better, does that "answer the question" in the way Quora standards (or you) prefer? In response to Jeff Wright so this would be easier to find instead of hidden in a comment thread.

Survey: When your answer gets reported by the yahoo answers community do you automatically block the asker?

Sometimes. Mostly I just log into my other account and go swear at them again.
