Why Wifi Data Tranfer Stop Few Minutes After Wifi Turn On

If I turn wifi on my phone will that stop using the data?

So I'm getting a Iphone 4 for my birthday but was wondering let's say I'm at home and want to check someone online on my phone. If I turn wifi off will that still use data or will the 3g go off and no data will be used at all? If not I'm gonna get a ipod touch.

Does iPhone use data/wifi for texting?

I've been an android user for years now and just got a 5 so I'm totally new to this. Overnight turned off my data and wifi to conserve battery (as I always have with my android device), in the morning when I turned on my wifi I received a bunch of texts that were sent hours ago. Does this mean without wifi or data I cannot text nor receive texts??

Data usage is not an issue for me since it is unlimited for me but I feel that it would become a hassle to constantly leave your data on to receive texts. Or maybe that's just me since Ive been in the android world for so long.

How can I use mobile internet data in a laptop?

There are 2 ways which i know as follows:USB : connect usb, make sure its connected as data transfer(the proof would be that you can see memory card and phone memory storage on laptop). if everything is as i said, go to the settings > Tethering and Hotspot > USB Tethering. make it on. that’s it. and restart mobile data connection. hope you know how to do that. go to data connection turn it off and turn on again.Wifi : Just like above method, go into settings > Tethering and Hotspot and this time turn hotspot on. set the password if you could. you can do that just by entering in hospot and there you will find configure or settings in options. Your laptop is supposed to have a wlan card for this. it is common now a days and comes built in. but if your laptop is old or is cheap(below Rs. 25000) , there is possibility that your laptop has no wifi. in this case you can get wifi dongle device(same size as pen drive) from market. comes at cost not more than 400. attach it to the laptop and do the same.

Why is my data finishing very fast when I connect my Jio hotspot with my laptop?

I read the previous answers from so many people and they are answering non-sense things.Screen size or pixel density has nothing to do with the mobile data consumption. It is about the browser that you are using or the OS or the applications running in the background which are automatically updating or using internet. So first one is browser. Chrome really takes a lot of resources which include your RAM, ROM, data. When you open a webpage from chrome, it downloads all the things on the webpage like the images in full quality, animations and stuff. In this case I recommend you to use some other browser if Chrome is really using a lot of data.Secondly the OS. OS requires updates and sending data to servers use internet in various things. These are not useless but are not required. Just disable the operating system to use data in the background and you are done. And the last one is softwares running in background. Anti-viruses should be updated as soon as it receives an update. But other applications do not need to be updated so just disable automatic updates too.

How can I let Android automatically turn off Mobile data connection when I turn on wifi and vice versa?

In android, WiFi is given more priority. The main reasons being..to save battery as mobile data consumes a lot more battery than what WiFi does and also, WiFi’s usually are a lot faster in terms of internet speed compared to mobile data. When the mobile data is ON and you turn on the WiFi, it automatically gets connected to a WiFi network which it recognises and stops using the mobile data. So you don't have to turn off the mobile data when you turn on WiFi.When the phone is connected to a WiFi network and when you switch on the mobile data, it has no affect on it. It continues to use mobile data. The only time mobile data is used while the phone is connected to a WiFi network is when the WiFi has limited access (the WiFi has an exclamation mark on it)It shows that the phone is connected to the WiFi with limited access but uses mobile data in the background.

Does playing Temple Run use data?

My credit went down from £10 to zero in a matter of days. I made no phone calls, have the internet connection turned off on the mobile. The only thing I did way play Temple Run 2 for hours on end.

Will smartphones charge faster with Wifi on?

Your phone will charge fastest while off. Next fastest in "Airplane" mode. If you have the phone on and it's doing network things, then yes, WiFi may allow it to charge faster than if left off. Most phone WiFi is limited to about 50mW transmit power (most client devices of any kind, and many hubs, are limited to 100mW), while your cellular modem can run up to 350mW or more. So leaving WiFi on as an alternative to cellular will save power IF you have enough data transfers going on to justify it. Case in point is my office -- we have a very weak cellular signal and good WiFi. If I leave WiFi off, my old phone would die before lunchtime on a typical day, if left on, it lasted most of the day. But if you have a very good cellular signal, or very low data transfer demands, you'll save power by switching off as many things as possible. That's true of normal operation or charging.
