Why Will My Screen Saver Not Start

Why won't my screen saver stick?

Well... it's not a normal Windows 7 thing. I'm sure you assumed that already. So, you were able to change it from the default screen saver settings, to Bubbles... and how much time passed between making that setting change, and deciding to use the Photo Slideshow as a screensaver? A few minutes? A week? A month?

I'm making you think about that, because if it was just a few second or a minute between changing the screen saver to Bubbles, then deciding to make it the Photo Slideshow... then the issue might require reinstalling Windows 7... er... performing a factory recovery. If you were able to modify a system setting like that, and then essentially IMMEDIATELY not be allowed to modify the same system setting... that points to an issue with the installation of Windows itself.

If your decision to change the screensaver was something that happened over more like a week or a month, then it could be an infection that you picked up that is preventing you from making the change. In that case, running a few cleaning tools would be a good idea. Actually, it's always a good idea.

Malwarebytes http://www.malwarebytes.org
Spybot Search & Destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/en/downl...
ComboFix is a download it and run it program. Malwarebytes and Spybot both need to be downloaded, installed, and updated before they can scan your system. All are free.

I'm Curious. What happens when you try to change to a DIFFERENT screensaver? Does it reject that change too? Is it only the Windows Photo Slideshow that is rejected? If so, there is a band-aid option... install Google Picasa http://picasa.google.com/ as it comes with a photo slideshow screensaver that offers more features.

You messaged me and sent me the link to your question... feel free to message me again with the results from my suggestions.

How do I get my Yahoo photos for a screensaver?

First, you must save the photo onto your computer. Do that by selecting the photo, right click and save it in a folder (of your choice) on your computer.

Open that folder (folder cannot be in Flimstrip View. If it is change the folder view (menu option VIEW) to other than Filmstrip. Now open the photo and right click on it. You should get several options one of which is to save it as a BACKGROUND. Background is the screen saver you are wanting to do. Select that option then test your setting by going to the Display options (right click on your desk top (not an icon) and then select property, select screen saver on the tab, and see if the photo is in the sample display.

How do I create a screensaver?

What kind of animation?Creating a screen saver from scratch is not a task for someone who isn't an experienced programmer. Those files you see with .SCR extensions are actually .EXEs that have been renamed .SCR because that is the convention for screensavers; that is, they are native executables. To create one you would need to write source code in C or C++ and compile it.What you want to find is a screensaver written by someone else that allows you to select a folder is the screensaver's optionsĀ  (or something) and have it display a slideshow of the images in the folder as a screensaver, possibly with animated transitions. If you need animation beyond this kind I think you are out of luck. I'm sure such a screensaver exists, although maybe not for free.

What is your phone screen saver? Is there any backstory to it?

My screensaver has a tonne of people (a Group Photo). Can't send that pic due to privacy reasons.Yes there is a backstory with it.3 Years ago I was a Big big big introvert, didn't talk to anyone was fully reserved and nobody ever gotta say anything to me I was not enojoying my life I was lonely. But then the girl who is crushed by more than 6 guys proposed me iDK what she saw in me and told that I had a brilliant personality (I m good in academics above 90%, not a book worm though My voice is loud and low pitched)She just asked me to hang out with her like BFs ans GFs. That time I finally came to know how to cure my introvertness(if that's a word)I started hanging out with her and her friends and it was fun then our school organized a picnic, I enjoyed it a lot and now came to know the meaning of social life I have those group pictures till now and they are screen savers on my phone.PS: That girl's father was in Army and now she has shifted to some other city. She came like an angel in my life and taught me the meaning of social life. Now I don't think so I am an introvert. But if I ever meet her again I would do anything for her.
