Why wont my iphone 4s connect to my uverse router?

I recently updated my family's phones from the the iphone 3gs' to the new 4s. Our new phones no longer connect to our wi-fi. We have u-verse so its a 2wire router. I put in the right password, and even went into the router and reset it to factory defaults, but it still doesn't work. Our new phones connect at other places with wi-fi so I know that they work. Also, all of our computers can connect wi-fi so I know that its working for that. Our old phones connect too. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? I AM FREAKING OUT!!!! Is it weird that our at&t phones wont connect to our at&t u-verse router? Thanks a lot at&t.

Why won't my iPhone connect to my home WiFi?

WIFI can use either static or Dynamic DNS. Static DNS are generally for web servers that use a specific IP. Dynamic DNS can change the IP address at any moment, so that you aren’t restricting an IP to a specific connection.Sometimes, your router can lose it’s connection, and not be able to connect. When you try to reconnect, it refreshes your Dynamic DNS address, and all devices looking to connect will generate a NEW access point - which is why refreshing the router works. If it is ONLY happening with your iPhone, it will be a setting in the phone, or how the phone connects to a router by default. IF it is just the phone, see if it is using static DNS. Change it to dynamic, you SHOULD be golden.

My iPhone 3G wont connect to Wi-Fi anymore?

I was given a hacked IPhone 3g by a very good friend (I travel a lot and am always switching SIMS and it was bought in France and mailed to me in the UK). The WiFi on THAT stopped working pretty quickly. It may be an OS or a hardware problem ... if yours has been "jailbroken" THAT may be the issue. Though it was one of the nicest gifts I ever got, it was enough to put me off iPhones forever (mainly because of the inability to change batteries ..... I only buy phones where I can change the batteries so I can travel on long trips with 6 fully charged batteries and avoid running around airports trying to charge my iphone and queue for a new ticket at the same time if my flight has been changed).

3Gs hold their value well. You could try and get rid of it as getting rid of it may make more sense than trying to get it repaired. The alternative, if you have the time and are techy enough is to hammer the internet where some people have been kind enough to tell you how to solve these problems.

My iPhone 4 won't connect to wifi unless I'm standing next to a router?

I just bought an iPhone 4 (ios 6) from a guy and when I got it, everything works perfectly fine except for the wifi. My iphone wont connect to wifi unless I'm standing next to my wireless router (located in the living room) and when I walk to my room, I lose signal and then the internet won't work anymore. I have an ipod touch too, and the wifi works just fine (its 4 bars when i go to my room ) my laptops work fine too.. it's just my iphone that doesn't work. How can I fix it? I can't get the iphone replaced because I don't have a warranty and I didn't buy it from the Apple store. :( thanks in advance~

Why won’t my iPhone SE connect to my WiFi at home? I have done everything Apple wanted me to do and it still won't connect. It connects everywhere else but not at home.

You may have a home firewall that prevents your phone from getting Internet access. If you login to 192.168.1.1 (use a pc) you can view you routers settings. Every router is different so you’ll have to click around to find what you need. What you want to look for at the website 192.168.1.1 is anything regarding MAC Address Filters, Port Forwarding, Parental Controls. There is another strange thing that can happen if your WI-FI has a small range of internal IP addresses(any address that looks like 192.168.*.* ), there could be another device with the same ip as your phone, such as a desktop. If this is true then that means only one of those devices are able to access web resources.to view your iphones IP address do the following: settings -> wi-fi -> click your Wi-Fi name -> once connected click the blue “I” that’s inside a blue circle to the right of your Wi-Fi name -> Now you can view the devices IP Address.Take note of the address and login to your router and view the Network Map If you find a device with the same IP and it’s NOT your Iphone; you found your problem! You can either increase the allowed range of IP address via your router, or you can assign a custom IP to your Iphone. You can do this by tapping on Configure IP. From there you want to tap manual and then enter a valid IP address that’s within your allocated range. This setting is called a DHCP Server on the router.

My iphone 4 wont connect to home WiFi? How can I fix this?

Here are some solutions to help you fix iPhone not connecting to Wi-Fi issue.Method 1. Make Sure Wi-Fi and Router Are Both ONThe first thing you need to do when you find that your iPhone doesn’t connect to Wi-Fi is to if Wi-Fi/WLAN is set to ON position and whether wireless router is connected to the modem and turned on.If you’re too far from your router you won’t get a signal, so make sure you’re within range. Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and make sure Wi-Fi is turned on. Tap the name of your Wi-Fi network to join.Method 2. Restart Your iPhoneRestarting iPhone can be a very effective solution if your iPhone cannot connect to Wi-Fi network or if you established the connection but it is slow or keeps dropping.1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button.2. Drag “Slide to power off” to turn your iPhone off.Once your iPhone screen becomes black, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again to turn it back on.Method 3. Restart Modem and RouterIf iPhone still cannot connect to WiFi after restarting iPhone, you can try to restart modem and router. It works sometimes. Unplug them, wait for about 30 seconds and then plug them back in. Wait for a minute or two and try to connect to Wi-Fi again.Method 4. Turn Off Location Services for Wi-Fi NetworkingSome users solved the Wi-Fi networking issue by simply turning off location services for Wi-Fi networking. You can also have a try. Go to Settings and tap on Privacy. Next, you need to tap on Location Services. Then tap System Services and turn off Wi-Fi networking.Method 5. Reset Network SettingsThis solution can also solve iPhone not connecting to WiFi in most cases. You can perform it follow: Settings > General > scroll download and hit Reset > tap Reset Network Settings > enter passcode and confirm. After processing Reset Network Settings, memory caches and DHCP settings will be cleared. And it will reset the network settings with factory recommended settings.

How do I connect to the Internet using the WPS option on an iPhone?

The iPhone does not have a WPS option. You may be able to access the router settings though and manually add the iDevice by filling in the MAC address and so on, but I would believe you will need to also assign the IPV4 address as well as the IPV6 address.Apple has never supported WPS, and WPS is very risky, just because it’s labeled as being “Wireless Protected Setup (WPS)”, doesn’t mean it’s safer than adding the iDevice manually to the router configuration/settings, or typing the password in.If you have this problem I would highly recommend accessing your routers settings by opening a internet browser and typing the default gateway into the address bar, but these correspond to your router so I recommend using the ‘ipconfig’ command on a Windows PC, and looking for your gateway address, as well as the preset username and login which will usually be on the router, or the routers box you bought it in. Once you log into the page, you can change the WiFI password!I will list common logins, and gateway addresses.Common Addresses:192.168.0.1192.168.1.1192.168.254.254192.168.1.0Common Usernames:Admin (try both capital ‘A’ and lowercase ‘a’)User (try both capital ‘U’ and lowercase ‘u’)(Blank)Common Passwords:Admin (try both capital ‘A’ and lowercase ‘a’)Password (try both capital ‘P’ and lowercase ‘p’)User (try both capital ‘U’ and lowercase ‘u’)
