Why Wont My Dog Poop On His Own

POOP eating dog 6 months old?

Usually its the other way around, I've never seen poop eat a dog before, that must be a sight!

My dog eats his poop?

My 9 month old bull terrier, Jack, has always eaten his own poo. First it was because he was sick. But now he is healthy and STILL eats his own poo. His vet said to give him beer yeast. But it doesnt seem to be working. Its REALLY disgusting. He doesn't fit any of the profiles for dogs who eat poo, so I cant figure out what his problem is. I'm desperate for him to stop.

My dog won't pee and poop in the same place.?

She pees on the wee wee pad, but poops in a different place no where near the wee wee pad. Any ideas on how to get her to do both on the pad? When I see her about to poop.. I move her to the wee wee pad, but she doesn't get the hint for next time.

My dog won't poop anywhere but home?

My dog lives with me and she has pee pads inside to use so she never goes outside. I am at my boyfriend's house about 8 hours a day give or take the day, and she won't use the bathroom the whole time she is there! We have pee pads for her but she will only pee, not poop. His dogs all go outside to use the bathroom, so I am thinking about taking her outside and see if she will poop there.

I don't know if she will get use to it one day (we haven't been going there very long; my boyfriend has always just came to my house) or if I should train her to use it outside (since she can sometimes have diarrhea and he has carpet). It just must be so hard for her because the first thing she does when she gets home is poop.

Is it ok to have my dog poop on rocks?

It is really ok to train your dog to go to the bathroom wherever you want them to. As long as it's safe for them which takes common sense to know that. But rocks, that's fine. If they are mostly smooth rocks he'll be fine.

On an episode of dog whisperer he trained dogs to go on rocks. :) It was a small part of the yard for the dogs to go and it worked to train them to go there.

I'm not sure how you'll be able to train your doggy to go there. Maybe just walk him out to the rocks and make sure he goes there. Maybe make a slight barrier so he gets privacy and you can stand near the entrance.

And tell him he's a good boy when he goes on the rocks. :) Maybe search for potty training dog whisperer episodes. Maybe you'll find the one I saw.

Do you have to pick up your own dog's poop if its on your property?

I was only a few steps away from my front door and my dog pooped on my property where the neighbors wouldn't step on it. One of my neighbors drove past and came back asking if I was going to pick up my dog's poop. I told him why should I when its not going to bother anyone besides me. The poop is too far from the sidewalk so nobody would step on it.

Why does my dog step on its own poop when he goes outside? Can dogs feel with their paws?

Certain labs are like the dumb jocks of the dog world. It is important that you pick up the poop with a pooper scooper very regularly. You can hire services to do this for you. For now, keep some baby wipes by the door and wipe down his feet if you can before he comes inside and runs all over your floor. He's just concentrating on running around like the active dog he was bred to be. He doesn't understand that the old poop is not just part of the ground.

My Dog Lays in his Urine and Poop!?

The phrase "get rid of him" tells us a lot. Sounds like you have no business with a dog and you're welcome to TD if you want. By all means find a rescue to take him (not a city impound, that would be the final disservice, since they will kill him after 3 days if no one adopts him, which is extremely likely ) .

If you really think he has a UTI, giving him cranberry juice or capsules and a lot of water will give him some relief, but it sounds like you haven't been taking him out to do his business anyway, and he needs to clean his urinary tract, which is why he probably got a UTI in the first place. Poor nutrition and him trying to hold it leads to UTIs.

Edit: That's what happens when people get on here and fail to give enough information, and people who answer have to guess what's going on based on the terminology and minimal info. They get TDs from people with poor communication skills.

FYI, neutering can and does sometimes cause urinary problems in dogs. Below optimum nutrition adds to this possibility. It's why my male dogs are not neutered (my females are spayed for the newbies info) and I feed the best food I could find and afford.

Your terminology is offensive to a lot of people on this forum, also and betrays the fact you are not the type of person who is committed to lifelong care of a pet. Do the dog a favor and let a rescue have him, and they will make SURE he goes somewhere he will be properly cared for.
