Why Worry About Marijuana Use They Let People Smoke Nicotine With Tar Does It Make Sense

My (ex) boyfriend smokes weed should I be worried?

If you would like my honest opinion, I would say absolutely not. I smoke Marijuana everyday and have been for quite some time. I smoke anywhere from .5 g ('dime') to 1.0 g a day. Honestly, I really don't know anything about him but he sounds like he's a nice guy (being you love him still). Some people smoke Marijuana to open their mind to new ideas, express themselves and be more appreciative of things, as do I. I also use it for Anxiety and Depression. Health-wise, It's all natural and even helps kill cancerous cells. THC (Tetrahydrocanninbol) is the main psychoactive ingredient found in Marijuana and it does no harm, it will give you the 'Munchies' (Make you hungry) and intensify yours cravings and taste buds while relaxing you and giving you a sense of well being. It is very useful, Especially medicinally. Think of it this way, cigarettes have over thousands of harmful and poisonous chemicals added to them, not to mention the Tar and the Nicotine which you will grow an addiction for. The only thing in Marijuana is the THC that I mentioned. Yes there will be Tar if you smoke it, but that's it, so compare it to cigarettes? Yes, it is perfectly safe, and even at that it doesn't sound like your ex boyfriend is a pot head or anything. And remember, It's impossible to overdose on Marijuana and there are no records of anyone ever dying from the use of Marijuana. If you are worried about that small amount of Tar from smoking the Marijuana, invest in a vaporizer, but honestly it's so insignificant you don't need to worry about it.

Is smoking weed worse than cigarettes?

If you're driving a car, or performing brain surgery, yes, maybe. It causes a temporary 'impairment' of motor coordination, time sense, etc. Tobacco alters consciousness, no doubt about it, but not as much as pot.

But in every other way pot is not nearly as bad as cigarettes. Cigarettes kill 400,000 people a year in the US. Lung cancer, COPD, emphysema, heart attack, etc. Marijuana has never been implicated in a single death.

What is harmful to my lungs in cigarette, the tobacco itself, nicotine or the paper?

The smoke. There is a simple way to encapsulate this: @ITSS It's The Smoke, StupidThis is used to point out that the harmful element in smoking / tobacco / nicotine is the smoke. It is perfectly possible to consume nicotine and even tobacco with little or no statistically measurable elevation of risk - this is called Tobacco Harm Reduction or THR. Tobacco consumption is not harmless, but if it is manufactured to high quality and consumed without smoke, in certain circumstances consumption has no clinical significance. For example, multiple clinical studies show that lifelong consumption of Swedish Snus in Sweden has an expected lifespan reduction of 6 weeks on average (the range reported in studies varies from 2 weeks to 10 weeks). This is almost certainly less than for any other lifestyle choice, including for example drinking trimethylxanthine (coffee), watching TV for hours, or even eating lots of theobromine alkaloid-containing snacks (chocolate). Snus is a specially-processed Swedish mini-pouched oral tobacco that has had most of the carcinogens removed. Because most Swedish tobacco consumers do not smoke, Sweden has the lowest tobacco-related mortality of any developed country by a wide margin, the lowest male oral cancer rate in the EU, and so on. In fact, Sweden's national health statistics are unique in several respects related to smoking and/or tobacco-related morbidity and mortality. Please note that nicotine is a normal dietary component, present in many vegetables. No one has ever been found that tested negative for nicotine in any of the large scale clinical studies that tested hundreds of people. It is no more 'dangerous' than otherĀ  dietary components such as vitamin A or vitamin D that should not be taken in very high doses, and which have resulted in many deaths as a result. In fact there are fewer deaths proven to be solely due to nicotine overdose than there are known from vitamin A overdose. Please google for for more detail.

Does smoking weed harm your lungs?

A death rate from marijuana is probably very low. However yes, it can harm your lungs, because you're inhaling a very hot substance into your lungs. Anything like that can harm you over time.

Can cigarette smoke bother babies?

Yes. Don't allow anyone to smoke around them.

If tobacco causes cancer then why is it legal?

Every person I know says that smoking can cause lung cancer, and chew aka spit tobacco causes mouth cancer.I don't understand why so many places sell it if it causes so many deaths.
