Whyisi It Wrong To Judge People

When is it wrong to judge other people, when is it not wrong, and how can a person rightly determine this?

It is wrong to judge other people when your purpose for doing so is to put them down, degrade them, de-humanize them, obliterate them, or consciously ruin and tear down their reputation or character.It is not wrong to judge other people when your purpose for doing so is to determine how you can best be in relationship to them, whether that includes how to help them, how to avoid them, how to size up a difficult confrontation, discussion, or negotiation, or just to be able to make good distinctions about who you are dealing with and how you can best act.Both of these forms of judgement stem from completely different parts of ourselves. Remember the symbolic "angel and the devil" on your shoulder? It's a lot like that.It seems that being conscious of our motives in making judgement about others is a good practice. There is no simple way to break this down. It comes down to our motives. When you are clear that your motive for judging is not coming from that devil that wants to throw someone under the bus, but, rather, it comes from the better part of your discernment and ability to make key distinctions- then that's how you know when it is okay to judge.If you can discern your own motive, you'll soon figure out the answer.

If judging is wrong, why do some people judge those who judge others?

When someone judges someone else, they are only saying something about themself.If a person judges people for judging, this means this person does not like people who seem closed-minded, arrogant, rude, etc. This may also suggest that this person tries not to judge people most of the time, and that they prefer to try and keep an open mind.Of course, everybody judges, whether or not it comes out. So what we actually get here, at the most basic level, is that this person has judged this other person to have different values that conflict with his/her own, and their judgment is the expression of this.

Why is it bad to judge people?

Judging people is innate survival instinct. We all do it, because we are hardwired to do. Problem is not in the process of making a judgment itself, after all its a decision making process, problem is in the wrong assumptions we make about people, as a result of our fears and or desires. They can lead to what we consider bad behavior.Off course when you see someone you can’t always have all the information you need on them, so we judge people on first impression, which is often wrong but we have not much else to go on.If we know someone who has different value system than ourselves and we are way past first impression but we still judge them, its a good way to examine ourselves more deeply. In other words, your perception of me is a reflection of you. My reaction to you is an awareness of me.So if you feel that there is a good reason you are making a judgment, a decision about someone, but the society says its wrong, than its a good opportunity to think about what it means on a deeper level.Maybe society is wrong. Maybe your community and or culture or religion is wrong. Maybe their values are outdated and yours are not. But most importunately ask yourself is the judgments you are making, pushing you to be bitter or better? Based on that answer, you should know what to do next. And who to listen to you. Your gut feeling or society, community, religion norm?

Is it wrong to judge people because they have tattoos?

Well, yes.Yes of course.It's also wrong to judge people by their perceived 'class', IMHO. Or their gender, religion, hair colour, ethnicity, height etc. pp. ad nauseam.Judge people by their personality and actions. Everything else is bullshit.By the way, large scale tattoos can be quite expensive if done by a high calibre artist. The main reason I still don't have any is because I can't really afford the size and style I'd want from a seriously good tattoo artist.But then, you might very well view me as 'lower class', despite my not having any tattoos...

Why is it wrong to judge others?

I can explain this with an exampleCan u judge who is the better person out of these 3 ?Mr A - He had friendship with bad politicians, consults astrologers, two wives, chain smoker, drinks eight to 10 times a day.Mr B - He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps till noon, used opium in college & drinks whiskey every evening.Mr C - He is a decorated war hero,a vegetarian, doesn't smoke , doesn't drink and never cheated on his wife.You would say Mr.Cright?But..Mr. A was Franklin Roosevelt! ( 32nd President of the USA)Mr. B was Winston Churchill!! (Former British Prime Minister)Mr C Was ADOLF HITLER!!!Strange but true..Its risky to judge anyone by his habits !Character is a complex phenomenon.So every person in ur life is important ,don't judge them ,accept them.Three beautiful thoughts1. None can destroy iron, but its own rust can!Likewise, none can destroy a person, but his own mindset can.2. Ups and downs in life are very important to keep us going, because a straight line even in an E.C.G. means we are not alive.3.
