Wierdo Roommate Suggestions

Something hugged me in my sleep?

I was asleep and I felt something hugging me exactly like a person would and I didn't turn around right away at first it took me a few seconds to remember where I am and who might be hugging me but then I remembered I was home alone and even my roommates didn't come home, I still felt the hug like i felt the arm around me and them it was letting go so I looked over a little bit and the this black shadow slowly flew over me and the up and disappeared, I wasn't very scared or anything because it had a friendly vibe to it like it didn't want to hurt me. But then I opened my eyes and I think I was dreaming of if but I woke up in the exact same position as I was in the dream. I think it was sleep paralysis, but who was the hugging me?

What does it feel like to be a single working professional woman in India?

I am 26 years old. I live in Bangalore. I am single and I work as a Software Engineer (you guessed it!). ConsPretty much all my friends are married and I am the unmarried wierdo.Family and relatives constantly hound you over the marriage issue. Your marriage becomes the balm to mom and dads headaches, last wishes of grandmothers and the business of every aunt and uncle to disect at will.I live alone. So, my home is the temporary transit place for illicit substances unsuitable for families.I have to be very self reliant and true in my judgement in choosing who knows my status quo.Had to learn the hard way, the difference between "Alone" and "Lonely".Have to be super responsible about things like gas stove, geysers, house keys and locking doors. Have had to consciously develop this.Lie to most strangers around me ( landlord, neighbours, cleaning lady, local grocer, local beautician) about my age and impending marital status.Hangout/party with fewer and fewer people with time.ProsPretty much all my friends are married and I'm the only one who doesnt report back to their mother in laws :PI live alone and my apartment is the ideal spot for pretend bachelorette sleepovers.I live with two adorable rascal cats.I binge on TV serials all the time with no judgement from my cats. The said married friends love to feed me their cooking. Many a dinner's taken care this way.I read a lot!I save up most of my money as I have zero commitments!

Why is FRIENDS considered better than How I met your Mother?

Though there are multiple similarities between the two, the overall feel after watching these series would be different. The similarities:1. Both are about a group of friends who hangout a lot. In friends, it used to be Central Perk and in HIMYM it was MacLaren's Pub. 2. Both the series consists of at least one high-school roommates pair. HIMYM has Ted-Marshall while friends has Rachel-Monica and Ross-Chandler. 3. Both consists of an ideal married couple. Friends-Monica and Chandler. HIMYM-Lily and Marshall. 4. Both had an on-off love story. Friends-Rachel and Ross and in HIMYM, it was Robin, Barney and Ted.5. Both the series had a playboy. Joey in friends and Barney in HIMYM. And both of them fell in love with their best-friend's love-of-the-life. Why friends is better:1. The writers of friends were much better. There were roughly 3 stories in every episode. There were 1 or max 2 in HIMYM. Friends has been funny throughout. HIMYM not so much.2. The characters of friends were more relatable. I mean, what are the odds of a person actually having a playbook!3. HIMYM has nobody even close to Phoebe...the ultimate character in friends4. The bromance between Joey and Chandler cannot be compared with that of Ted-Barney or Ted-Marshall. 5. In HIMYM, Ted had always been in love with Robin (like Ross with Rachel). But Robin never loved him until she had issues in her marriage. That's not the case with Ross and Rachel. If you watch the series closely, you would know that their relationship had never completely ended. Somethng or the other kept happening, because of which they could not be together.6. And finally, HIMYM was supposed to be all about how Ted met his children's mother, but it was actually not. 80% of the episodes were about other relationsips that Ted had. Also, eventually it was Ted and Robin. Why was the concept of mother even put up in this series!HIMYM is worth watching once only. But Friends is like a continuous process. I have read about so many people who have watched the series repeatedly. I am watching it again for the 5th time. I start the 1st season again once i am done with the 10th one! :)Edit: Made the answer well-structured with few more points.

How do i deal with a potential "single white female"?

TOTALLY LIVED IT!!! I rented the movie... It was a friend of 6 years who was a roommate... she wanted my fiance she wanted my clothes, though she is like a size 23... and I'm a 16. She wanted my job, my talents, to make her way into my family etc etc. It was crazy. The best thing I can tell you is to GET THE HELL AWAY FROM HER!!! REPORT IF NECESSARY this *****, excuse, is just a time bomb waiting to blow the hell up. This woman is dangerous, she is cunning and she is damn good. My stalker was too... omg she was. Lucky for me I am as strong as I am and didnt trust her. I have extremely sensitive skin, im talkin silver breaks me out... lol, and this idiot was jealous that my skin was clearing up from a damn near life long battle with excema and put AJAX cleanser on my bath brush!!!! That and her poisoning my food then admitting when I suspected was the last straw... omg honey do what you have to to get away. Dont tell her ****, tell her you dont want to be any where NEAR her that you just feel like you've outgrown eachother... I hope yours isnt as bad as Mine.

Which of the highly appreciated Bollywood movie you hated but never admitted due to fear of being judged?

QueenWell, I did not 'hate' it, per se; but I simply cannot understand what the hype is all about. This Kangana Ranaut starrer is about Rani, a homely girl, who decides to go on her honeymoon alone when her fiance calls off their wedding. Travelling around Europe, she finds joy, makes friends and gains new-found independence. The movie has an okay-ish cast (Kangana Ranaut, Rajkumar Rao - brilliant actor and one of my favorites, and Lisa Haydon) who have done pretty well, but the plot is weak and the direction is, frankly speaking, terrible. This movie received very good reviews based on the sole fact that a girl finds independence from her fiance and ends up living her life by making her own decisions, which ultimately leads to her dumping her fiance (who is an asshole, by the way). The message that the movie tries to convey can be summed up in just one word : feminism.I'm not an anti-feminist, just to make it clear. But, let's face it - the movie tries to do a lot of things in it's around 120 minute runtime, but ends up justifying none. Rani's roommates cum friends are people of different nationalities and races, who for some reason, live together, and are always happy. Then, there's the chef who falls for her (obviously) and her cooking skills. There's the alcoholic NRI chick who has contacts all over the world, and believes that one should be drunk to have fun. And ofcourse, there are quirky songs in between, just to give people reasons to cheer; and pathetic dialogues delivered by the wierdo that Kangana plays. (I really can find reasons to hate something if I make up my mind :P ).All in all, the movie was pretty meh; and definitely didn't deserve the applause it got. That being said, this is just my humble opinion.
