Will I lose my game data if I erase my 2DS SD card?

If you are playing games off of the cartridges, then the game data is stored on the cartridges, and erasing the SD card will not affect your game data on it. There may be a few exceptions with extra data such as in-game screenshots or recordings, but the main game data is not affected. If you are playing games off of the SD card, then yes, erasing the SD card will also remove the game data. You can save the game data from games being played on the SD card to an external source; computer, another SD card, etc., but if you wanted to use it on another 2/3DS you would need to perform a system transfer.

Why do people buy digital games on consoles?

especially on PS4 or Xbox One, you can almost always find the game cheaper used on a disc. even if you live out in a rural area, some online sites like Walmart sells used games online.

i only download digital games on Xbox One if it's free. otherwise, I always but them on disc new or used for resale / trade in value.

especially if it's an older 360 game that works on xbox one via backwards compatibility, i will buy used if it's not a games with gold and almost always get them under $10 at various stores near me.

is it purely for the convenience of downloading digital and not the effort of driving to a local store and checking out prices there?

do you buy disc or digital?

What is the default autocad filename extension?

Do you prefer your copies of video games to be digital or physical?

I prefer physical copies of games for many reasons over a digital copy.Price —Steam and origin (or rather, their sales) to one side, buying a game on the psn store, xbox store or Nintendo eshop tend to be full price for a very long period of time and by full price im talking £49.99 —£59.99 (im from the UK btw) per game. Instore, while the price may be similar on release, the prices tend to fluctuate. Take for example Star Wars Battlefront for PS4 and Xbox One, this was full price (£54.99) on PSN and Xbox Live for a long time, while in store, it did not take long to be able to find a copy for around £30.Trading - With physical games, should you get bored or realise you have bought the wrong game (incorrect console format) you will be able to trade that game in or get a refund. This is useful if you have a stack of old games you no longer play and you want to get something brand new. You can't do this on console digital stores (although i think with steam you can….certainly able to get a refund)Collection - I don't know about others, but i prefer to display all my game cases in my living room, just looks nicer in my opinion.Storage - Games for all formats nowadays need to be installed onto your console or computer hard drive before you can play them, while not as space saving as disc based games were compared to downloads, its still easier to delete and install the game later in order to free up space. Take, for example, you have a PS4 with a 500gb hard drive. PS4 games all install from disc and can take anywhere between 10gb and 60gb+ (GTA V im looking at you) its much quicker to uninstall a physical game and reinstall via disc than it is to uninstall a digital and install via downloading again, unless of course you have the fastest internet known to man.So these are my opinions to why i prefer physical games than digital games. It's not to say digital games have their advantage (for example ease of changing game and load times) but for the trade in factor alone, it's physical gaming for me

Can you be banned for using a CFW on 3DS and playing free games? If yes, how can you remove CFW from the console?

Given Quora’s tendancy to show up as web search results, I should make this known here: This was written on Jul 19th, 2017, and the risk of a ban is much higher now than it used to be. I leave the following information below for posterity.Short answer: You're probably fine.Long answer: There are two different formats for pirated 3DS games: 3ds and cia. 3DS format games are direct rips from the cartridge. It's a full, still-encrypted copy of the game that needs to be played from a flashcart such as Gateway or Sky3DS.CIA (CTR* Importable Archive) files are decrypted games that get installed as digital copies of the game. They can be used via CFW without the need for any special hardware. This is also the format used by services such as FreeShop. Now, there is one very important difference between digital and physical 3DS games. Physical games have what's called a “header” — basically, it's like the serial number for that game. It tells the game which copy it is. Now, obviously, any given header can usually only be played by one person at a time. When you use “3DS” format game ROMs, though, you're using somebody else's header. When multiple people go online with the same header, Nintendo notices, and usually bans all of them. There are ways around this problem, but I won't go into detail here.CIA files don't have headers. Every digital copy of any given 3DS game is exactly the same. Unless you're doing something that's usually impossible in-game (such as using hacked Pokemon), then you're almost certainly fine. For more information, I'd suggest looking at GBAtemp.net - The Independent Video Game Community.
