Why do Americans think the USA is the best country in the world?
Why is it that people from the USA constantly deride the rest of the world? Asia is poor, "they all look the same", Europe is full of sissies and cowards, and they're evil communists, and I'm sure most don't even think about Africa. As an Egyptian/Brit I find the attitude they display very offensive and downright wrong. They think Brits have bad teeth and all speak like the Queen (fyi I despise the monarchy) and Egyptians are either pyramid-building primitives or Islamic extremists. "'Merica is the best country in the world", the only truly free country, where the uber-rich can oppress the poor for as long as they like, and those born with nothing have no chance of ever gaining something. God Bless America! Because Africa and Asia are still developing, it's only really fair to compare Europe and America. In Europe, the poor are cared for thanks to top notch welfare and healthcare. The police are efficient but not brutal (in Britain anyway) and before you start moaning about security cameras and "big brother" cameras are only in densely populated parts of big towns and only cover streets, so it's not like they intrude into your home. In America, there is no universal healthcare (yet, at least Obama has the sense to try to change that) so people that can't afford health insurance have terrible health. Welfare is mediocre, and the society is so inequal that the top 10% of the population earn 99% of the money. Sure, there are no regulations, so psychopaths and criminals are allowed to stockpile guns and kill people. Yay for freedom! "Everything is bigger in America" yep, including the people and the heart disease rates. Because the corporations like McDonalds own America they decide who makes the laws, so 60% of all Americans are overweight. Despite being around for 2 centuries, America thinks they're the cultural capital of the world. My ancestors in Egypt were building the greatest civilisation in the world 5000 years ago. Then America claims it's the only free country, that it's the wealthiest (it isn't Europe is richer and soon China and India will be) and the biggest and rant on about the American dream. America meddles in other country's affairs relentlessly (it supported Mubarak in Egypt for decades and deprived Egypt of freedom) and then invades all over the place, whilst polluting and making bombs. So what's so great about America?
Was Obama a good president?
Reality is that he's a poor president. History will look back on him with rose-colored glasses simply because he's the first black president. His only meaningful contribution is preventing another great depression...but he screwed that up by giving those who caused it a free pass to essentially do the same thing again. He's almost doubled the national depbt He's made race relations worse He's made the political divide even worse He's plowed his way through our bill of rights. Our trade deal has weakened our economic and industrial power I'm still very skeptical about his "healthcare reform" since it failed to make healthcare affordable...instead it made it more expensive for everyone else. It would be nice if they actually addressed the reasons why it was so expensive in the first place.
Do you believe the Government created AIDS?
Of course it did...all of you seem to think that something like creating a virus (when looked at with an electron microscope proves to be the only virus that is almost perfectly spherical) to kill off, or to control the population of a particular race is just ridiculous. You know what? You're right. So is the CIA supplying drug dealers in the early eighties with crack, another epidemic that happened to devestate the black community in America (oh and I suggest that if you weren't around it, don't speak on it because you have NO idea on what it put us through!). Tuskegee Experiment, Jim Crow, etc. seem to be issues that we "overreact to" every now and then. Oh, and don't forget slavery...I know you are all tired of hearing about slavery! We should just get over it already, right? The problem is when you look at a certain issue, you (I mean 99% of the world!) have a tendency to do so withouth empathy, because you can't relate. How could you relate to an entire continent (Africa) of brown people being ridden with a disease introduced by the WHO? (look it up!) Seems far fetched, doesn't it? It is to you because you won't relate. Open your minds people, Reverend Wright is indeed right! You just found out something that's been known for over twenty plus years! Poor thing.
How does the rest of the world view President Obama? According to some conservatives here in the U.S., Obama has made the U.S. a laughing stock around the world. Is this true?
Some conservative think the world was created a few thousand years ago. Some conservatives think a girl should pledge her chastity to her father (how creepy is that). Some conservatives think it's OK to murder staff in abortion clinics because killing is wrong (go figure). Some conservatives think gay marriage will undermine straight marriage - one in three first marriages end in divorce and 1 in 2 second marriages. Can't see the gays making that a whole lot worse.So when they tell you Obama made the USA a laughing stock you have to understand they are at the worst lying through their teeth and at the best totally delusional. Obviously I can't speak for everyone but I've travelled extensively and he is very well loved almost everywhere. He's intelligent, articulate, scandal free (and believe me they've looked). He has a great family and fun dogs. What is there not to like? Oh yes that terrible, evil defect. The vile black thing! How dare he be on the world stage with all that 'dark' colour on show? Most European countries have left a trail of crumbs hoping he'll venture our way.Now if we are going to get down to which US President has made the country the biggest laughing stock on the world stage...
Why do so many Brits hate Libertarians and the American second amendment?
@geordie but you dont need guns to rape, kill, or to do a robbery. Also most of the ganstas in the USA are Mexican and Central American illegals. They came here illegally. I dont mind immigrants but atleast they should follow the laws. also Geordie if you are a student of history you will realize that govt do go corrupt and kill people like in Chile, or in Argentina. The USA has a evil govt, that has killed over 1 million Iraqis, imprisoned millions for posesion of ganja. Know the US govt has legalized torture without warrant. That does violate the constitution but Obama does not care. Guess what it will come to the UK as well. The UK will turn into a sadistic police state like the USA. But even worse cause UK is more densely populated than the USA.
