Will A Risk Of An Accident Ticket Affect Dmv Or In Records

Any way to erase an accident history in my records?

I'm a very stupid guy. I hit a fire truck while it had it's sirens on(I was 17). Now I'm 18. I've read that it takes 5 years to clear any accident/tickets in your records.
Is there anything I can do to shorten the 5 years to, lets say 2 years?
Or do I just have to wait 5 years and deal with it?
I've never gotten any tickets, any other accidents. Just one thing in my records, the fire truck accident.

I'm getting ready to buy a car. I did online quotes from major insurance companies (geico, mercury, aaa, etc), and they all came out about the same. $500~ per month.

Any help would be very much appreciated and will be given 10 pts : O)

What happens if you drive without a permit? How does this affect getting a driver's license?

It depends where you are located. Every state has its own driving permit restrictions. And those rules are under strict compliance. Possible consequences are stated below:The suspension of your permit. That would be a hassle as you will have to start all over again. They can even ask you to take a practice permit preparation but it depends on the nature of your case. You could also get a ticket fine for being driving without a permit. Some states add points to your driving records, which could be a bad start. The may issue you an extension to the length of time you must keep a permit before applying for your driver’s license.Rather than testing the waters, the best thing you could do is to carry your permit with you everywhere you go.Hope that answers your question.

Do Medical Schools check your driving record?

Most (I'd bet on all, but certainly haven't checked all) medical schools (and hospitals) require background checks, often conducted through the AAMC Background Check Service (list of schools using AAMC BCS: http://www.aamc.org/students/amcas/faq/b... ). Usually these occur after you have been accepted, but it's best not to hide anything major while applying and risk getting rescinded.

Traffic violations do show up. Every school has their own policy about what they care about, so check them out. Most will not care about a parking ticket or other small violations. I've attached links to some school's policies. Also, here's a fairly long but interesting report about pharmacy schools (with related medical school info thrown in) and background checks; should be similar: http://www.aacp.org/resources/academicpo...

Hope that helps!

Does a "coasting" citation affect your insurance?

Not too long ago I got caught for speeding. The policeman was kind enough to give me "coasting" ticket instead of an actual speeding ticket since I am a full time student and part time worker.

This is my first ever ticket which will cost me $239. Will this ticket affect my insurance?

How many points can you get on your California driving record before your license gets suspended?

copied from California DMV Point System & Penalties | DMV.orgPoint Values in CaliforniaThe California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) uses a point system to rate driving records, starting each driver with a clean driving record. A traffic ticket, however, can change all that. These are examples of violations that will earn you driving record points:A minor moving violation (traffic ticket).Issues involving certain vehicle mechanics or additional equipment, such as brake issues and child safety seat violations.Reckless driving.Driving with a suspended or revoked driver's license.Being involved in a hit-and-run accident.Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol (DUI).AdvertisementSuspended California Driver's LicenseAs you acquire points, you place yourself in danger of losing your driver's license. The DMV has the right to suspend or revoke your driving privileges if you accumulate a certain number of points over a set period of time.4 points in a period of 12 months.6 points in a period of 24 months.8 points in a period of 36 months.Contrary to popular thought, driving records are not automatically cleared of all points once the points are over a year old. If you have accumulated points, it's always a good idea to be aware of the DMV Violation Codes.you can check your points on this page

My son got a speeding ticket for 87 in a 55 area?

The first question is whether you are in a county with a juvenile traffic court. If so he will have to appear in court with a parent. If not, then this will be handled the same as an adult citation. The scheduled fine (which is the maximum fine) for going more than 25 mph over the limit is $490. In regular traffic court, the fine should be close to that. In juvenile court it could be lower (it cannot be higher), but some community service might be involved. Additionally, the juvenile hearing officer could suspend his license for up to 30 days.

Traffic school is not ordinarily offered for speed more than 25 mph over the limit, but he can go to court and ask. If allowed, that will add about $50 to the fine, but will avoid the DMV point and any insurance consequences. If he cannot get traffic school, this would be one point with DMV (all speeding offenses 100 mph or under are one point). You would have to contact your insurance agent to see what effect that might have on your insurance. 1 point will not affect his provisional license with DMV, but 2 points could, should he get another citation within the next year.

BTW, there is no Veh C 22345. He was probably cited for violating Veh C 22348.

ADD: To repeat, unless your county has a juvenile traffic court (not all do), you will NOT have to appear in court with your son. If he does not get traffic school, your insurance company will know about the DMV point by simply checking the DMV records--this is not a matter of self-reporting.
