Will America Be Able To Sustain Itself Within The Next 6 Years

The American Civil War in a nutshell?

OK "lys" - I just finished a grad school history course on the Civil War. In a nutshell, it was fought over SLAVERY.
That's it ! ! ! The South wanted to keep it, so they started the war by seceding. The North refused to let the Southern states break up the Union

Apologists for the South will say it was fought over state's rights. That is somewhat true. The war was fought over the Southern state's rights to keep SLAVERY.

The North won, and the South had to give up SLAVERY.
[Even the border slave states mentioned by "BigJohn" above that stayed in the Union had to give up slavery after the war.]
Big John is right that there were some other regional issues, but the war was Primarily about SLAVERY. That's the current graduate level academic thinking weighing all the factors.

On both sides it was a "Rich man's war and a Poor man's fight." In New York, they were pulling in new immigrants (especially poor Irish) and packing them off to a war they knew nothing about. Rich men could buy their way out of the draft. That was legal then. The poor Irish were also very upset about freed blacks coming to New York and taking the low paying, unskilled labor jobs away from them.

Use these ideas in your paper and expand them to suit yourself. there is much more to add (as noted above), but this is the nutshell you requested.

Would America be able to self-sustain itself in the matter of food, water, and shelter if all imports and exports were suddenly cut off? For how long?

Yes.America has enough natural resources (200–300 years of natural gas, coal, and oil reserves at current American usage thanks to fracking), manpower, landmass, water, food, industry, and technology to immediately begin self-sustainment.Not including future uses of technology such as mass produced graphene and future discoveries and development, current R&D into renewable energy alone would be able to self-sustain America indefinitely. It’s sometimes hard for people to remember just how large and resource rich America really is, but just keep this short story in mind:I had some customers fly into the states from Japan. They landed in New York. They missed their connecting flight to Dallas, TX. They decided to get a car rental and drive to my place of business. They did not understand the distance between these two points. They made it to Tennessee, but didn’t have the money to get more gas. When we arrived to pick them up, one of the Japanese gentlemen said this to me:“I have no idea what my ancestors were thinking when they even considered the idea of invading America as a sane idea. Your land is so big that even if every Japanese person would have invaded in World War II, we would not have been able to even take and hold one state.”Furthermore my European friends have told me they are completely astonished that a person can often drive for hours without ever finding a city. Having spent a great deal of time in Europe, I can see why.I walked into a whole different city one day when I was working in Nuremberg, Germany. I didn’t even know I had done it.One can’t do that in America. Hell, it’s a 28 minute drive from my house to my workplace. That’s a 5 to 6 hour walk at a high rate of giddyup.Good luck out there!

Will the earth be able to support it self when earth population go from 7 billion people to 12 billion people?

Will the earth be able to support it self in 50 years from now, when earth population go from 7 billion people to 12 billion people?

You know shortage of food and water? When the earth population go from 7 billion people to 12 billion people?

Will this cause worse global warming or will global warming cause a major shortage of food and water? If the global warming problem does not get fixed ,When earth population go from 7 billion people to 12 billion people? Will this cause a major shortage of food and water?

How will this directly or indirectly affect global warming?

Was America the deciding factor in WWII?

This is a big no

Without Britain or USSR, then America would not have made it at all.

During The Battle of Britain, USA sent help over true. But they were certainly not the reason to why the battle was won, reason why.....because we're still heavily outnumbered. Not to mention we had New Zealand, Australia, Poland, etc. And because USA entered the war only half way. All the commanders were all British, being led by RAF Hugh Dowding and Sir Winston Churchill.

Reason I'm talking about the battle of Britain is because it was the turning point of the war. If Nazi Germany won then they would the whole entire British Empire at their feets. And Americans would never be able to do D-Day because they would have no Britain to leave from and would almost be suicide to have the entire American fleet cross the Atlantic Ocean and to leave from Russia may not happen when you think about it :/
Not to mention the deciding factor was D-Day...PLANNED BY SIR WINSTON CHURCHILL.

In December 1941, USA gets bombed by Japan and they enter the war.

UK is under heavy problem because they are going bankrupt, have an Empire to run, being bombed to death, so the Americans come in and help. This being a very valuable idea by FDR.

USSR was again another turning point of the war, if they lost Stalingrad then I again assure you USA would never be able to help.
USSR could have won the war without USA help. USA would have never won without the UK's help.

So no, USA was not a deciding factor of WWII.

How do you think the world will change in 100 years?

what major differences do you think will occur in the next 100 years?

for example

1. nuber of people
2. the way we use technology (scientists will probably make a sattelite that will go to other solar systems)
3. the way military uses wepons
4. globabl warming
5. internet
6. buildings, cars, other things like that
7. prices for items ( gas )
8. the way we get our food

Why are there so many Americans in prison?

Greed and Love- the root of all evil. We are a nation never satisfied, always chasing money to one up the next person and seeking the adoration of others. Most people in prison are there as a result of going to far in search of one or the other.

Instead of ameliorating the social situations that correlate with these crimes, the government throws away the perpetrators along with our tax money, with no true attempt at sustaining rehabilitation, causing a never ending cycle.

Sad but reality.
