In it's current state, you could make a few bucks and sell it for parts. If you can manage to fix it, you could sell it for around $60-$70 on craigslist. Even though it's outdated, it's still useful as a media player and someone will most likely buy it.

Only if you got it there and your best buy warranty covers the damage type, otherwise they will $$$ charge you. You can contact apple and they will help you arrange to send it in for repairs also. You can also contact apple and ask them where their "authorized apple repair" places/shops are located in your town, I know we have one of those in my city, but I have not had to use it, cause the apple store is only 6 or 7 miles from where I live.

Will Game Stop buy my iPod if it is broken?
I looked online and found that game stop will buy 2nd generation iPod Touches for $85. However, the one I want to sell has a faulty headphone jack. The sound only plays out of one ear. This isn't the reason I am looking to sell it, but will game stop still buy it? It's a cheap fix (like $10) so I was hoping maybe they would still pay for it. Does anyone who works at game stop or has sold an iPod to them before know the answer to this?

You go into the "Settings", then General, and then "Restart". All the parts are embedded onto the motherboard and are non removable/replacable. Otherwise many people would have successfully upgraded the hardware specifications of their old devices.
