Will Hair Bleach Lift Blue Dye

Can you bleach out blue hair dye?

Trying to bleach out hair that is blue, this mens that first of all the hair had to be bleached previously in order to make it blue, I dont recommend using straight bleach to remove blue out of the hair , The question should be how can I Neutralize blue hair first with it makes more sense and it would be better for the hair.

Can I bleach my hair over a blue dye?

You can, but some direct dyes have a tendency to become a sort of murky turquoise if you bleach them. Not to mention the damage to the hair if you are bleaching already damaged/bleached hair to get rid of the blue.If you have overall dark blue hair (black-blue) that is darker than your natural hair color, usually accomplished with a permanent hair color, using a hair color remover should remove most of the blue. You’re likely to need to color correct and tone and then dye over it to get some sort of natural color. If you have bleached blonde hair, and you dyed it blue and hate it (it happens) or got bored of it, the best option is to help it fade. Wash your hair with a cleansing shampoo several times, and don’t forget to deep condition as alongside the dye your hair natural oils will be stripped. This should get it to a level where you can dye on top of it with another color. If the blue still doesn’t bulge, a bleach bath is easy and can be done at home and generally is less rough on the hair than a full on bleach job.Do not try to color correct your own hair unless you know what you are doing and are happy to run strand tests. Applying an orange dye to cancel the blue can turn out terrible. But you may be able to dye with a warm toned brunette on top of the blue to achieve a decent natural looking brunette color. That said, this is difficult to get it right if you have never done it before. If your hair is very weak or damaged a visit to the hairdresser (who will have expertise and the right products to color correct hair) should be in order. You really don’t want to give yourself a chemical haircut.

Can i bleach blue hair?

Bleaching, or "lifting" color from, your hair is a harsh process and the more shades you have to lift, the more damage you do. Do it too much or on the wrong kind of hair, and you could end up with straw-like hair and/or breakage.

But yes, in answer to your question, you CAN "bleach" the blue color molecules away and put new ones on. There are also color removers like this available:

but in your case it wouldn't be advisable since you would still need another bleaching process to lift more of your original color...

How can I dye my hair black and blue without bleach?

This week, the Splat Midnight hair-color collection launched exclusively at Target, and it's making me question a decision I made several years ago.Let me back up. Freshman year of high school, I dyed a one-inch section of my brown hair fire-engine red. (That's all I wanted to sacrifice to bleach—just one inch.) For that small amount of hair, the process seemingly took forever. Between having my hair bleached twice to lift my natural color and sitting with the red dye on my hair, I vowed to never color my hair again. (Unless metallic hair-color genius Guy Tang would do me the honor.)The Splat collection, however, uses what the company refers to as "direct dyes," which allow brunettes to color their hair a bold hue—without bleaching first. Yes, it's time to celebrate. My fellow brown-haired beauties can now choose from Amethyst (a deep violet), Ruby (a black cherry red), and Indigo (a navy blue) without worrying about the long, arduous—and damaging—process of bleaching. Blondes can use the vegan dye, too. But the lighter your hair is, the brighter the dye will look, so fair-haired femmes may want to think twice before going Splat.

Can you bleach dyed hair? If so, how?

Absolutely you can! It just takes a little more caution than bleaching virgin hair.I recently bleached my hair from bright red to very light blonde, and it turned out just fine. It kinda depends on what colour your hair was dyed (for example black and dark browns are harder to get out,) but here’s a general overview:I went to Sally Beauty Supply and purchased Prismlites Blue toned Bleach, 30 volume developer (creme, not liquid [personal preference]) and a shiny new tint brush. (But I’m no professional. Use caution and commonsense…I ain’t liable for your hair.)Since I was doing more of a balayage-highlighting technique, I didn’t get within a couple inches of my roots, so that was one less thing to worry about.I sectioned my hair carefully, and as soon as I began applying the bleach I worked quickly to pull it through evenly (in the places i wanted). I started timing immediately and actually stopped halfway through bleaching to rinse the bottom section, so it wouldn’t overprocess.Once your hair is a pale yellow at the lightest, (mine had a teeny bit of orange in places,) you MUST wash the bleach out or face all the hair catastrophes I’m sure you’ve heard about. If your hair was really dark, you might want to stop while still orange (or once the time suggestion on the bleach is up,) because it’s better to go back later and re-bleach then to fry it trying to go super light in one day. After that, shampoo, tone if you want, or wait and dye it. Good luck!Oh, and don’t freak out when it’s still wet. My hair looked bright yellow-orange when I was fresh out of the shower, but once it dried it looked much blonder and better. First appearances can be deceiving!

Hilift and blue powder bleach?

Blue based bleach cancels out red and copper tones. If your hair is black, that is what you would want to use. Hair lifts in stages...black's undertone is red so it will lift from red, to orange, to copper, to yellow. Violet cancels out yellow tones, so when it gets to a pale yellow, use a purple shampoo (Sally's sells one) unless you don't want platinum hair...then buy a color toner in the shade of blonde you want.

Is your hair naturally black, or dyed black? If it's dyed, use a color remover as much as possible. It won't damage your hair like bleach will.

How do I get the blue tint from an ash high lift blonde hair dye out of my hair?

I previously bleached it, and it started to turn yellow. I've used Wella T-18 toner on my hair before and it turned blue so instead this time I used Clairol High Lift Ultra Blonde-Blue (12AA-B) and it turned my hair blue/silver within 30 seconds. I washed it out right away but it looks TERRIBLE. I don't want to spend the money to get it fixed. SO, should I bleach it again? I really don't want my hair to fall out. Help is so very appreciated! :) Also, in the future...how can I keep my bleached hair from turning yellow/golden?

Can I mix bleach with my blue hair dye to make it look like skyblue or a light blue color?

Ah, DIY, bathroom chemist who thinks they have outsmarted the entire hair color industry and their scientists. So much better than following instructions and using products that have been through years of development and research as they were intended. Not really.Bleaching hair LIFTS color, it doesn’t deposit it. To do a pastel or light color you need to lift it to a level 10 or 11. Then you need to wash the bleach out completely, or the dye won’t deposit. To lighten a hair dye you can either use one of the brands pastelizing products (many fashion dye companies have such for their dyes) or mix with a sulfate-free white base conditioner.

Can u mix powder hair bleach with the hair dye?

NO!!!!!!!!!

bleach is designed to lift....which means to lighten your hair color. it does not deposit tone

color if it is permanent color is designed to lift and deposit tone. meaning it is going to color your hair.

if you were to mix color and bleach together the lightening agents in the bleach will basically eat up all the color molecules in the haircolor and all you will end up with is bleach. bleach and color are not designed to be mixed together at all.

it sounds as if you really need the help from a haircolorist. this is what we went to school for. best of luck!

How do i use Loreal Super Blue hair bleach?

The developer is how much color it will lift out, 30 is a very high lift. It depends on what color his current hair is as to the result. It will NOT turn it blue. It will go through every shade, and if it is very dark hair you may only get to the red/orange stage. It is nearly impossible to go back to the natural shade after lifting all of the color, so I would strongly recommend a temporary color instead (and no bleach). It is very easy with this level of lift to fry/break the hair, especially if you're trying to go to all of the way to white/blonde, so be prepared for scary results!
