Will I Be Able To Do These Courses With These Grades

Ontario Grade 11 Courses Advice?

I never heard of SNC3M? I guess its new. I went to high school last year and it was biology, chemistry, and physics for sciences. If you want to major in a science program at the University level I don't think SNC3M will be recognized.
Functions is good. Try to have at least 1 math course in grade 12- leaves more options for you.
You don't have a very hard schedule looking at your electives. Just like you I took law, anthro, and accounting. Not difficult at all. You will enjoy them, and get a high average.
As for what University programs? With those courses you will not be able to enroll in any science or engineering program. That leaves you with everything else!! There is a lot of choices. Do something you will enjoy and succeed in because in University you cant get away with courses like in high school.
Good luck!

Would I be able to go to homecoming if I pass the E2020 8th grade course?

Okay , last year in 8th grade I couldn't attend school on a regular basis due to medical problems and me going to doctor's ect. so I missed a lot of school. Instead of holding me back , they set me up to re-learn my four core classes in the E2020 program in my High School . Currently I am about 30% through each of them since September 4th , and I really wanted to go to Homecoming but since I'm still technically in 8th grade , I am not aloud to attend any High School events as Homecoming , even as a guest. But , I'm willing to work hours and hours to complete these courses in order to pass. If I happen to pass into 9th by the beginning of October , do you think I'd be aloud to go since I'm now a 9th grader? The reason I ask this is because even when I pass , I have to stay in room 101 ( the room I take this in ) until January 18th when the new semester begins to have normal classes. What are your views on this? Should I be aloud? Please don't say , " it's impossible to pass in that short of time " Because I am willing to work .Please don't say " you'll find out " I need to know so I don't put in all my effort for nothing.

How bad is it to have 2 'W' grades in 1 semester?

Well, here's the thing: One or two withdrawals alone doesn't look too bad on a transcript. However, a PATTERN of withdrawals does. In your case, you're withdrawing from two courses in the same semester. The problem with that is, the time frame between both withdrawals is rather small, which may make people a little suspicious.

Anyway, it's a tough call. It also depends on how many classes you have withdrawn from already. If you've withdrawn from more than one class before, you should probably rethink this through. That would be my suggestion...

What courses do I have to take in grade 11&12 to graduate and be able to take an acting/singing job?

Unless you are at a performing arts school already, most high schools have requirements which leaves you perhaps 1-2 optional choice courses.  What does your school offer? While it seems like taking a job in acting and singing might not require you to be bright, you can't be dim, either.  Business skills and basic life skills and knowledge along with a degree will help you in other areas of life.  College, perhaps even junior college, offers additional opportunities for learning and growing and social skills you will need, whether or not you make it.Charlotte gave a really good answer.  I would recommend that you focus on school and think about what else you like to do, because unless you are really, really good and also have connections, you may not be able to succeed in the entertainment business.  You might also consider dance, and realize that being a working singer/dancer/actor can mean small roles and little exposure and doesn't yield celebrity status.  If you love it and are good at it from training, then give it your best shot, but remember to consider what the deciding factors will be for you to go with your plan B.

I missed my first exam, will I fail the course?

This is a question that you should be asking your professor.

It all depends on how the professor grades the course. We wouldn't be able to tell you if you can still pass unless we knew how many total points were in the course and whether or not the categories (homework, tests, etc) are weighted.
I missed the first exam of my Spanish class last semester and couldn't make it up, so I had to drop the class because I wasn't allowed to make it up and there was no way I could get a passing grade even if I got 100% on everything else that went into the gradebook.

My guess is that, unless you can work something out with your teacher, you're probably not going to be able to get a passing grade with that 0 in the gradebook. And anyway, would you really want to deal with the pressure, knowing that if you don't get A's on EVERY SINGLE ASSIGNMENT then you fail? It's best to drop the course now, if you can.

As for whether or not you can make up your exam, that depends on your professor's makeup policy. Most professors that I have known only allow students to makeup exams if they are notified ahead of time, however. So again, my guess would be probably not.

Bottom line, I would e-mail your professor ASAP. Explain that something came up (I definitely wouldn't say you overslept) and ask if you could make up the test as soon as you can. If he/she says no, ask if you would possibly be able to pass the class despite the missing grade.

I hate when people say this but... hopefully you learned your lesson!

Good luck with everything!

I failed all my first semester courses. Can I take extra classes in college to help raise my GPA?

I failed all my first semester courses. Can I take extra classes in college to help raise my GPA?I don't want to depress you, but I failed a semester of college waaaaaay back in the 90s and despite maintaining a near 4.00 since then, the failing marks haunt my GPA to this day. It will take a lot of work for you to get rid of the effect of those marks. Your best route is to go to your school advisor and see what options you may have for removing those marks. If you had a personal emergency (like a death in the family), or some other legitimate extenuating circumstance that affected your grades, you may be able to get something called academic forgiveness, where they erase the grade completely. In my experience this is a difficult thing to get. I could prove I left college (and the state) suddenly to escape an abusive relationship, but I was denied. They insisted I should have taken the time to withdraw from my classes before leaving. I know other people who just made a phone call to their old school, gave them a sob story, and got the grades removed. You never know if it will work until you try.Another option is retroactive withdrawal, which gives you a W for the grade. You'll have to find out what your school’s rules on this are and see if you qualify. Again, some schools are easier to work with than others. Finally, there's grade substitution, where you retake the course and have the new, passing grade take the place of the failing course. It's like the failing course —and its effect on your GPA — never happened. Not sure if all colleges do this but my daughter has already used this at our community college. All of these are strictly at the whim of the school. There's nothing that says you have a right to any records change except that of an incorrectly reported grade. If you work hard and focus on your grades, though, you will eventually see your GPA go back up. Good luck!

Can you take any ap classes in 9th grade?

If you are in a public school, you should be able to take any AP Class your school offers as long as you meet any prerequisites required by your school (or the college board). Pre requisites would be classes that you must complete before taking the AP class. These help insure your success in the class. Consult with college counselors or administrators if you feel you do not need the pre-requisite course. In private schools you will be constrained by the rules of the school regarding enrollment in AP courses.Good luck.

Are these grades good or bad?

American Studies Honors(this counts as two classes-English Honors and History Honors): B-

Voice Class: A
Spanish 4 Honors: B+
Biology Honors: B+
Advanced Geometry Honors: B

will colleges think these are okay? my dad says these grades aren't good at all but i think he is just exaggerating.

oh yeah, i'm only a sophomore so if I work really hard next year to bring my grades up more-will that make a change in my gpa?

What will happen if i fail college classes?

Your financial aid will either be cut or you'll lose it all. That should be the least of your concerns. What you should worry about is this: Most certainly your GPA will suffer, and most universities have a minimum GPA all students have to maintain every semester/quarter to remain a student at the university. If your GPA falls below a certain number, you will be put on academic probation until you get your grades up. You will be able to redeem yourself during that time and if you don't, you will be expelled.

College is different from high school. You may be learning the same material, but believe it or not, there are great differences.

Everybody has to take general education classes to make them a well-rounded student. I thought that taking these classes was a waste at one point, but now I see why I took the classes I did, and realized that there are some really interesting subjects. I also met some great professors.

Back to your problem: Take note of academic advising and meet with someone. He/she will help you map out your schedule. Have a plan. Don't procrastinate. Buy a planner and use it every day. Learn from this so it doesn't happen again.
